There were also people that sit at restaurants and they would get food thrown at them, They would get yelled at, and much more. None of them would fight, no matter what happened to them, They would not fight back because they did it peacefully. Women began standing up for themselves as well, they wanted gender equality.

Japanese Americans had their rights taken away from them. Lastly, people held scrap metal drives. After the United States entered World War 2, women were told to take over men 's jobs. Many women served in the U.S. Armed Forces.

As women became more involved their ability to further improve their societal standing increased as they gained more power through reform. Women became more involved in the workforce. They were paid more, better protected, and more well respected. World War One showed the nation that women could fill the role of men and produce on a level that made them important. Women also changed the progressive era by focusing on the welfare of the poor and low class.

Women's rights have experienced tremendous victories, and tremendous shortcomings though no fault of their own. It does not matter if it is in Fascist Italy of the mid 20th century, the United States during the Civil War or World War II, or Modern China. This is a matter that affects everyone, not just women. Fascist Italy, for example fascinates me because the form of government originated as a protest of middle class Italy due to their neglect for the lower class. Italy's economy was literally in shambles, they were plagued with white collar unemployment, which resulted in the attacking of women's job prospects.
