Evil in this book and that’s what made it juicy with conflict. This paper is about ender’s game and how the book has good v.s. Evil inside of it. Ender and peter were enemies in the book they were enemies because peter was jealous of his smartness and attention. Because of this Peter pounds Ender every day until he starts to cry. I think that there is some good v.s. Evil between the two of them meaning that Ender is good and Peter is evil. That’s how I feel about Peter and Ender the two boys always at eachother’s throats In Ender’s Game Colonel Graf and the instructors are training the boys and girls to be soldiers to fight against evil. Although, the evil ones are the instructors because they tricked Ender into wiping out a whole species. Also when someone gets hurt they don’t really care about them getting better which I think is pretty darn evil to me. …show more content…
All that the buggers want is water so there queen doesn’t die. The human race responds with guns and violence causing the buggers to show violence as well. Enders personality is changing into his older brother, Peter. “Peter has mellowed, but you, they’ve made you into a killer. Two sides of the same coin, but which side is which” (238)? Ender has turned out to be more like his sibling, Peter, in light of the fact that Peter use to bully youngsters and Ender particularly, now Ender is harassing and utilizing his forceful behavior towards other students at battle school. Enders personality has transformed him to turning out to be more
Ender then sets out on a journey to find a new home for the buggers where they can live in peace. The detail within the book, along with the greater influence placed on characters other than Ender within it, make the novel better than the movie. Three of the most important points in Ender’s game are how Ender was selected for battle school, how he overcame each challenge he faced as he tried to be moved up to command school, and how he tried to make things right at the end of the story with the bugger species. Ender’s parents were selected to have a third child, something that was not permitted by the government.
Ender’s Games Summary In Ender’s Game, earth had previously been attacked by aliens, called buggers, and were going to attack again in the future. The main character is Ender Wiggin, who has a sister named Valentine, and a brother named Peter. He and his sister have a very close relationship, but his brother is crazy and wants to kill him. In the beginning, Ender beat up a bully, and when asked why he said that it was to prevent future problems, which made the colonel decide that Ender was a good candidate as commander for dealing with the future alien problems.
Then Ender is introduced to the games in the Battle School—one being the mind game that exposes the inner workings of Ender’s mind to the commanders. Ender meets a giant, a new opponent in the game, and comes to a stalemate as he realizes that his choices are rigged. He makes a third choice, that is, to kill the giant, causing him to realize that Peter would’ve done the same. Many of Ender’s choices are similar to Peter’s and as Ender goes through battle school, we see that they are not as different as we assumed.
The novel Enders Game by Orson Scott Card is compelling with its characterizations and futurist plot line. Written in 1985, the story shows a boy, only 6 years of age named Ender and his journey through battle school with his companions and altercations with enemies to defeat the supposed “threat” of the buggers: alien invaders. A common practice by the characters in the novel is lying and deceiving to gain power; oddly however, the lies and deceit are more useful than telling the truth. Card shows this theme through the motif of power and how those above Ender such as Graff, Valentine and Mazer Rackham lied to him to help Ender gain power.

In the fifth century BC, Gautama Buddha quoted that, “It is a man's own mind, not his enemy or foe, that lures him to evil ways.” Two and a half thousand years later, humanity still is still faced with its own evil. Buddha was correct in his monitions for mankind because he knew that evil is always set in motion by human nature. In the novels, Lord of the Flies by William Golding, Animal Farm by George Orwell, and Night by Elie Wiesel, authors reveal humanity’s true evils through literary devices such as characterization, psychology, and setting, to connect to the darkness that is present in the real world.

To give one’s evil side continuing hold indicates that there is a possibility the person in question would continue to make poor choices inasmuch as he feels he is limited to the label of evil awarded to him. In other words, forgiveness should be granted to a sinner in order to give him the opportunity to change, to ensure his wellbeing in the future. What if, however, the deed has been so enmeshed in the past that the future has already been altered forever? What if the situation has reached beyond the point of repair? The Jewish nation could have progressed into something so much bigger and greater had these families not been eradicated.
Being unaware of significant information during a crucial time is justifiable if it’s for the greater good. In this case, in the novel Ender’s Game by Orson Scott Card, the Command School authorities did not inform Ender Wiggin and his peers that they had been fighting real buggers the entire time they thought they had just been practicing in a simulation. Without knowing that the final evaluation was a real fight against the buggers and not just Mazer Rackham or a computer, Ender Wiggin, and his peers destroyed them. For instance, Colonel Graff states, “It had to be a trick or you couldn’t have done it… We had to have a commander with so much empathy that he would think like the buggers, understand them and anticipate them…

Evil is unique to each individual, how people were raised and what they were exposed to will alter their definition of evil. However, people generally agree that homicide, rape, torture, genocide, and terrorism are all evil. Causing agony or suffering is considered evil. Manipulating the weak or manipulating children, in any way, is considered evil. Despite our societal understanding that these acts are evil and that evil is bad, we witness evil nearly every day.
