Rationale
The main purpose of my creative task was to cause the reader to empathise and relate to the emotions of the main protagonist (Clère), as well as create an underlying theme of suspense and mystery. The narrative is set in the Palace of Versailles during the 18th century, and focuses upon the main character of Comtesse Clère Rosseau de Voclain as she struggles to exact justice for the murder of Tharasylle, her beloved sister.
The intended audience for this story is evidently teenagers/adults as the story includes several more mature themes of grief, murder and betrayal.
The principal themes in this narrative are centred around grief, betrayal and murder, although themes of suspense and mystery are also frequently recurring. Although I wrote this story in third person, the predominant focus of the narrative is Clère, with only her emotions and thoughts being communicated. I feel that the themes included in this story are significant, as they portray a story of loss and betrayal, as well as realistic examples of the historical French culture, and a realistic portrayal of possible events in this time period. Although there is minimal dialogue in the narrative, I frequently used imagery and described body language to convey what dialogue couldn't. The tone of the story is consistently sombre, as the story is designed to be emotional and suspenseful.

Although imagery is subjective to genre, I felt the imagery included in scenes aided in the interpretation of the plot, emotion and connection of dialogue to action.
-Third-person perspective, although not specific to the crime genre aided the mystery and assisted transitions between scenes. It also allowed improved description of character appearance and
Kindred Argumentative Essay Love is more addictive than drugs. It exploits a person’s weakness. Love consumes a person and opens the gate to a number of overwhelming feelings that wouldn’t open for anything else. It is uncontrollable no matter how hard a person will resist from it.
Moments in one’s life are often labeled as good or bad. In reality, no one’s life is perfectly good or perfectly bad, rather it, life, is periods of ascension and descension, constantly fluctuating as one ages. For example, one obtaining their driving license is a moment of ascension whereas one’s first heartbreak is a period of descent. In Gustave Flaubert’s “A Simple Heart”, the main character, Felicite, is a maid to Mme Aubain, and experiences a rough life as she grows.
Imagery allows a reader to imagine the events of a story within their mind through mental images. Imagery can describe how something looks, a sound, a feeling, a taste, or a smell. Imagery is especially important when the author is describing a character or a setting. The short story The Man In The Black Suit by Stephen King has several excellent examples of imagery.
These parts of the story are where the reader is exposed once again to the protagonist’s theme of humanity. Jean- Dominique was not an angel or any idol figure to the people around him. He often pushed away even those closest to him. With a bad family relationship, Jean- Dominique lived finished his life with many regrets, making him all the more
Wray 1 Tyler Wray Grabowskii AP English Language 22 January 2016 Argumentative Essay 1 Communication is an everyday occurrence between almost all of us. However, when we’re polite when we communicate, there are many benefits that are enjoyed by people who are polite to others and the people they are communicating with. These benefits include positive attitudes, a good reputation, and easier communication. People who use polite speech often have infectious positive attitudes.
Armand’s love clouds his judgment concerning Desiree’s heritage. The bonfire symbolizes the ending of their marriage and family. A contribution to take from this story is not to judge someone’s appearance based on only what is seen. The three stories revolving around the female characters and their marriages are “The Story of an Hour”, “The Storm”, & “Desiree’s Baby”.
The novel revolves around the elements of death and pain be creating a story line of Camille’s life through the tragic events that occur- the death of her sister, the investigation of two girls who were strangled and her mother’s violence and psychological issues. The theme of death is reflected by
Argumentative Synthesis Mindlessly, people worldwide disobey the government in which they live everyday. Examples of this would be people speeding, littering or other tasks which individuals might find harmless when in reality they are disobeying laws set by the government. Although there are people who disobey the government in much bigger ways. One of the most famous examples from past history is the story of Martin Luther King Jr. and what he stood up against. Growing up in his time, people of color were always looked down on and were restricted.
In classic literature, one finds a multitude of literary devices used to enrich the reader's experience, one of such being character foils. In Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes, Hamlet, and especially in A Tale of Two Cities, renowned authors provide some of the most famous mirror images in the preferred novels of an older generation. Among the contrasting physiognomies of Laertes and Hamlet, one finds the dissimilarity of Sydney Carton and Charles Darnay, Jarvis Lorry and Mr. Stryver, Madame Defarge and Miss Pross in this novel. Each of the pairs signifies a comparison of two people that seem to possess many of the same traits and similarities, but still appear as night and day. In A Tale of Two Cities, Charles Dickens
Marie de France’s romance, Bisclavret, is based on the story of a noble baron who lives in twelfth century Brittany with his beautiful wife. He is loved by everyone in the kingdom. Everything is all right between the two except that Bisclavret disappears from his house for three days and nobody knows where he goes. His wife declares “My lord, I’m in terror everyday, those days you have gone away, My heart is so full of fear” (Wilke, pg. 1336 lines 40-50).
Imagery can be so beautiful and vivid, it really engulfs you into the reading. It holds significance because we as humans like for things to be drawn out for us or painted out. Creating a narrative that's easy to understand, of course no one wants a story that's filled with misconception. Imagery provides a deeper connection with the deeper and takes the reader back to a time or a place just like repetition.
In Kate Chopin’s “The Story of an Hour” demonstrates the personal growth of the dynamic protagonist Louise Mallard, after hearing news of her husband’s death. The third-person narrator telling the story uses deep insight into Mrs. Mallard’s thoughts and emotions as she sorts through her feelings after her sister informs her of her husband’s death. During a Character analysis of Louise Mallard, a reader will understand that the delicate Mrs. Mallard transforms her grief into excitement over her newly discovered freedom that leads to her death. As Mrs. Mallard sorts through her grief she realizes the importance of this freedom and the strength that she will be able to do it alone.
A significant theme that Lynn Hunt explores is representational culture. Specifically, how the family and individual members of the family are depicted through the arts and literature in the advent of the printing revolution. This is a broader theme explored throughout the monograph. Representations of the fallen King, the Band of Brothers, and the Bad Mother through the despised Marie Antoinette. While this is not the main theme of the book, it gives the reader a good idea about the pervading political climate of 18th century France.
As we go through our everyday lives, the evils of the world are easily visible to us. Between selfishness, burglary, and murder, it is reasonable to believe that humans are evil creatures. Although this is not proven, it is the favorable side to take. The proof for this side of the argument is plentiful. The fact that we have a government alone, shows that we don’t trust ourselves to make good decisions, and we need law to keep us in check.
Opinion: I like the imagery in the story because it gives you a great sense of what is going on in the story, and also gives you a picture in your head while reading the story. Evidence: “I lean into his chest and feel his heart beating; I can’t help but think this is way better than Skype. I stare up at his chiseled jaw, messy hair, and deep brown eyes.
