By explaining that he had a friendship with Caesar, Brutus portrays that he had to have had a just reason for killing Caesar since he would not want to kill a friend otherwise. "You all did love him once, not without cause" (Antony 33 IIIii).

There have been many leaders and people who abuse their power over civilization and places. Even the littlest taste of power often leads them to corruption. Many times, citizens and adversaries riot over some of the things that they disagree on and, in some cases, murder comes in to play.

But to turn the trust that was given to you and to kill them as simple as that makes you wonder if brutus considered caesar a true friend but to spare your friends life and see Rome slowly fall apart is just as bad as well. Was Brutus truly a diehard patriot or simply a cold blooded betrayer? Seemed as if he was, he showed nothing but devotion towards rome, murdered his friend for rome, and tried to convince the people of rome that he was good. And although this isn't something that would pass on to being okay during our time but during theirs this shows nothing but a true patriotic

Julius Caesar was a tyrant after he defeated Pompey, but then some of his closest friends, including Brutus, Cassius, Casca, and Cinna, brutally murdered him. The only one there who had real motive was none other than Cassius. He was the one who convinced Brutus to join the conspiracy, he came up with the whole plan on how to kill Caesar, and he just generally didn’t like how Caesar was godlike in the Roman’s eyes. Cassius knew that for the mutiny to work, they needed Brutus. Brutus had a lot of influence among the Romans because he was Caesar’s right hand man.

Even though some have praised Julius Caesar's assassination as a courageous attempt to protect the Republic, it is clear that it was a planned murderous act that called for legal consequences. Senators became irritated with Julius Caesar as he made changes and grew in power. On March 44 BCE, a group of conspirators assassinated Caesar within the Senate walls. The assassination of Julius Caesar was a determined act of violence that should be punished under the law, despite political motives and noble intentions.

Near the beginning of act II, Brutus has a soliloquy in which he is trying to decide whether joining the conspiracy is the right thing to do. He discusses reasons for why killing Caesar may be appropriate for the current situation of him being crowned king. Brutus also reveals his thoughts about some of Caesar’s behavior and what could happen (based on human nature) if he is given power. In the end, he decides to join with the conspiracy and kill Caesar.

Although Brutus believed he was better fit for Rome than Caesar, he was not fully convinced as you can tell before he stabs Caesar. Brutus was hesitant to kill Caesar, Brutus must’ve became overwhelmed by the whole senate glaring at him and couldn’t think what to do for a while. This is relevant today in the world; kids all around the world try to stay away from drugs, negative, and etc. Their peers are the ones are who manipulate them by using peer pressuring them, just as Brutus was peer pressured by the majority of the Rome senate. Julius Caesar was astonished that Brutus was also involved in his assassination, as he said “Et tu Brutus?”

Keep Power or Kill If you believed that the only way to save your state was to kill one of your friends, would you? The character Brutus killed one of his friends in The Tragedy of Julius Caesar(JC) by William Shakespeare. Some people believe that he is a villain and only killed Caesar to keep his own power in the government. However many people think that he killed Julius Caesar to help prevent Rome from becoming dictatorship.

When Brutus was speaking to the people of Rome about how he helped assassinate him, he justified it by saying, “not that I loved Caesar less, but that I loved / Rome more” (3.2.23-24). Even though Brutus is close to Caesar, he has to think about the city he serves first. Brutus wants to do what is best for Rome so if that means he has to harm a friend, he will do so for the greater good of the city he knows and loves. All it took was the conspirator to talk to Brutus a little bit to make him realize Caesar’s potential danger and say “That at his will he may do danger with” (2.1.18).

After Antony spoke at the funeral of Julius Caesar, the crowd became “enraged that this generous man lies dead” and the people referred to Brutus and Cassius as “traitors,” as William Shakespeare’s Julius Caesar plot summary states (3). The last words spoken by Caesar were “Et tu, Brute?” meaning, you too Brute (Act three scene one)? The final thing Julius saw before his demise was his best friend stabbing him, the ultimate show of betrayal. Not only did Brutus let his own lack of confidence get into his own mind, but it caused for him to mercilessly plan the murder of his closest friend.

“Death, a necessary end, will come when it will come.” In 44 BC Julius Caesar comes to power and names himself “dictator of life” as the new leader of Rome. Many believed he should not become king so a conspiracy arose to not only overthrow him as leader but to kill him. Four men became leaders of the conspiracy which were a mix of enemies and friends of Julius. After careful considerations, they began to assemble a plan to attack Caesar.
