Explain What Would Happen If We Have Prevented The War Of 1812

In the war of 1812 America took on Great Britain due to British attempts to regulate American trade and the impressment of American sailors. Because of the impressment, in 1807 Jefferson did pass the embargo act that prohibited the ship to travel to foreign ports, but later it was changed to the Non-Intercourse act and all trade with France and Britain was prohibited so that other routes were created to alleviate the economic distress. Some men, called the War Hawks welcomed the war with Britain because they thought the impressment was an insult to Americans national honor and they wanted to put an end to it. Some war Hawks also expansionist that wanted to expand into Florida and threaten Canada. The war Hawks got defense expenditures approved and the army quadrupled in size and they were ready to fight a war.

Eventually, the government gave in and declared war during the summer of 1812 which was pretty unfortunate for Britain as they were still fighting their war with France. During the early days of wars, America was severely underprepared due to the major cuts to the military and navy during Jefferson's presidency. Despite this, they still won an important battle at the Atlantic Ocean with their warship, the Constitution, which had hulls the British cannonballs could not break. Another fight was won on Lake Erie and they forced the British to retreat into Canada, where they were attacked by the Americans

The war of 1812, also called the second war of independence was during 1812 between 1815 between the Great British and the United States. Because of the war between France and British, British limited the trade of the United State. Besides, the US wanted to expand their territory. So, the war broke out. Before the war, both sides were not ready for the war.

The conflicts that drew the United States into the war of 1812 arose from the French Revolutionary and Napoleonic wars. Although the war was between France and Great Britain, American was still greatly impacted and their interests were tremendously injured. The two countries blocked the United States from trading with each other out of fear that the U.S. would send supplies to the enemy country and help them with the war. Another factor that led to the war between America and Great Britain was the removal of sailors off of the U.S. ships. The Royal Navy greatly angered the Americans by its practice of impressment.

The War of 1812 started because the British were disrupting American trade with European countries that weren’t Great Britain. The British had started capturing American ships and forcing the sailors found on those ships into British servitude. Of course, the British were purposely sabotaging America's trade and violating American sovereignty. What’s funny is most of the sailors that were captured were in fact, British; this was because citizenship was such a muddle and papers were often forged. Captured sailors would identify themselves by their tattoos of American patriotism like a bald eagle or an American flag.

During the nineteenth century, America shifted from a small, developing country into a world power. One of the events that led to this development was the War of 1812. This war is often called “America’s second war for independence” because Great Britain continued its interference in America’s affairs. There is not one definite cause that started the war but many factors that blended with one another. These factors can be grouped into three main concerns which are maritime impressment, territorial expansion, and the Republican War Hawks.

To clarify my statement, Great Britain was no longer a threat, our national pride was restored after the war, and very important heroes emerged from the war. First of all, America showed that Great Britain was no longer a threat to the young country. By winning our second war with them, it showed that even a new and unexperienced country can defeat the best army of that time. Adding to that, the War of 1812 is commonly known as our second war of independence. We became even more independent when our National Anthem was written after the bombing of Fort McHenry.

The British impressed thousands of American sailors into the Royal Army, punishing Americans despite America’s state of sovereignty during Britain’s war with France. This blatant disrespect of America’s neutrality was a big factor in America’s decision to declare war against Britain. Furthermore, the British still kept the Orders in Council even after America passed several embargo policies hoping for change. The policies were ignored by the British and Americans were only harmed by Jefferson and Madison’s attempts for peace. Ultimately, the War of 1812 was due to Britain’s inability to respect America as a nation separate from the French and British

So we helped Britain, France, Russia, and Italy. Although reluctantly at first, America was drawn into the European war. America would have loved to remain neutral. Americans were drawn in mainly for three reasons. The first reason was that the Germans crushed Belgium trying to get to France.

America had tried hard not to get involved in European affairs and conflicts, but with our growing connections it became hard. Businessmen saw the opportunities and profitable advancements of Europe, which brought a large number of American 's overseas. Great Britain was a major trade partner with the U.S, so we were indirectly involved in their war. The Germans started sinking any British ships that came into view of their Unterseeboots, even if they were passenger or fishing vessels. When
