People tend to believe that we all as human beings lie for different occasions depending on the conditions that we may be experiencing and still call ourselves as honest people, regardless what the lie was about. By justifying what we lie about, we may get more talented at it and we will tend to lie all the time, so by not making up excuses of why we lied, it will lead us to be more sincere with everyone around us and ourselves. In my opinion people lie to protect themselves but once they are caught, is hard to go back to the position where they used to be. In addition, people say when they have cheated before in order to be known as honest but not everyone can always excuse them, although some will do. "People cheat a little bit, they cheat
Lying diminishes trust between human beings. If people generally did not tell the truth, life would become very difficult, as nobody could be trusted and nothing a person heard or read could be trusted Everyone would have to find everything out for himself. Lying is bad because it treats those who are lied to as a means to achieve the liar’s purpose, rather than as a valuable end in themselves. Lies are bad for a person's health also, It can cause a person's brain to get used to lying about things and to get in a habit that is not one that a person needs to get
JIn Ericsson¶s essay The Ways We Lie, she writes 9 descriptions and examples of lies weall encounter every single day. It¶s implied throughout the essay that humans often do not intendto lie, but we all do in various ways. Some see lying as a way of protection method from a harmful truth. Lying may have some positives this is stated by the article The Truth About Lying by Allison Kornet when they said “Though some lies produce interpersonal friction, others may actually serve as a kind of harmless social lubricant….. They make it easier for people to get along, says DePaulo” (Psychology Today). People use blankets when they go to bed because it provides comfort and a sense of security. Some could compare lying on a blanket because it provides a temporary sense of insurance.
Everyone knows that saying the truth and being honest is fundamental. However, sometimes it is not always easy to be truthful, so we end up having to lie. Some reasons for those actions could be because we are afraid of being judged by others, not ready for the truth ourselves or we may be afraid of hurting someone else’s feelings when saying the truth to them. Although, being truthful to yourself and others is important, it is not always followed. Therefore, one may say that it is much easier to just lie than to tell the truth.
This lying and deception is happening in the world people live in today. For example when the American government lied to their citizens about their place in the Vietnam war, they were told that the war was going well in their favor and how they will be victorious even though they were not. Once the real reports were leaked, people were outraged because they were lied to and misled, they supported a cause which was morally wrong. This could happens on a smaller scale too, you may have lied to a friend or family member about something and once they had found out what had happened and how you lied to them, it may be hard to tell them your
The Lie- Thematic Essay In most of our lives we have encountered someone who believes that they’re entitled to everything because of their reputation or wealth. There’s times when kids are snobby to others because they have better clothes, a bigger house, more money, or even because they’re ‘popular’ and the other kid isn’t. In the story The Lie by Kurt Vonnegut Jr, there’s multiple times when Eli’s parents believe that because they are Remezel’s, Eli deserves different things than what the other students would receive at the Whitehill Academy for Boys. This story proves to us that you shouldn't act like you are entitled everything and you won't always get your way because of wealth and reputation because when you do you start to take everything

Stephanie Ericsson begins her explorative essay, “The Ways We Lie,” with a personal anecdote of all the lies she fabricated in one day. She told her bank that a deposit was in the mail when it was not, told a client that the traffic had been bad when she was late for other reasons, told her partner that her day was fine when it was really exhausting, and told her friend she was too busy for lunch when she just was not hungry, all in the course of a day. She shifts from talking about herself to talking about everyone, claiming that all people lie, exaggerate, minimize, keep secrets, and tell other lies. But, like herself, most still consider themselves honest people. She describes a week in which she tried to never tell a lie; it was debilitating, she claims.
Can dishonesty be valuable if it was used to achieve desirable outcomes? Is lying considered justified if it was involved in a dangerous situation? It is not always bad to lie. As children, we were continuously taught to be honest. We have grown to be implanted with the fact that lying is unacceptable but admissible.
The Ways We Lie “A lie may take care of the present, but it has no future…” - Anonymous. You lie, I lie, everyone does, but why; don’t people know that in the long run it will only hurt us? People lie all the time, for many different reasons, to keep out of trouble, to get someone else in trouble, to save others, to get something, etc., but all eventually leads to the opposite of what they wanted. One way I personally had an experience with lying and it not turning out the way I wanted was when I told my parents I had no idea where the candy was, but my mom eventually found it in my room and I was busted.
This quote says that lying happens frequently; no one can resist it. It also says lying is deadly, which is also shown in the Bible within the story of Adam and Eve, when the serpent lies to Eve, convincing her to consume the sacred fruit. In modern society, lying is a common practice. A person may lie protect themselves, or to gain something wanted. This may be due to religious diversity or the decay of respect in society.
Clancy 's article presents why people lie to the ones they love the most. In his article, Clancy argues that people lie for the need for love and that honesty isn 't everything in a relationship. He claims that lying is not taught, it is learned. Children lie not because they don 't want to get in trouble but because they are afraid to lose the love of their parents. Clancy states that "People who find themselves most betrayed by the lies of lovers are those who have the most unrealistic expectations about truthfulness."
Many people have told lies and been told lies ,however the biggest lie of all is lying to oneself. Everyone has been told to share the truth because even though the truth will hurt others now, a carried out lie will hurt them a lot more in the future. It 's better to do right than to live in lies such as don 't hide all your faults they won 't just go away, you need to learn from your mistakes. In Les Miserables and The Kite Runner a man 's reputation is not as important as his family. As in giving up yourself for another and to be happy, like leaving your homeland where you are known and in charge to become a working man and make your family happy.
