Artifact #1: What’s My Sentence, Name Card and Self Image My first artifact is my beginning of the year self projects. These were little assignments that helped myself and the class figure out out who I was, who I am and who I will be. One project we did was our Self Image. This was a paper where I had to ask my family and friends who they think I am, and then reflect on what they said about me. This helped me understand who I am in the eye of others. My second project was the Name Card. We had to find words that we would describe ourselves with, using the letters of our name. This helped me realize who I really think I am. My success is mostly based from my family. They are the ones that make me strive to be better every single day, and that is probably why I like to talk and write about them a lot. The Writing Collection we did was a bunch of flash draft essays we wrote about events that have changed us or our view on life. Out of all of my flash drafts, the one that was by far the best and most meaningful was the essay I wrote about my family, called “Is Family Really Forever?”. It always amazed me how I could write so much about my family, and that’s when my realization of success with my family hit me. If I’m ever stuck on what to write about, I think of my family. If I ever need help with any of my homework, I will go to my family. This applies outside of academics too. If I ever need someone to rely on, it will always be my family. Out of all the flash drafts I wrote I chose this one, and that is an obvious giveaway on where my success is based. It will always be my family pushing me through life and it will always be my family who helped create my success in the first
Opportunities and sheer luck have aided me in accomplishing what I have thus far. By random chance, I had the opportunity to grow up in an upper middle-class household. My parents follow “concerted cultivation,”
The values and teaching passed on to me from my parents will stay the guiding me for who I am today, and for the rest of my live. Mom and Dad were my
Native Americans also known as Alaska Natives, American Indians, and Indigenous Americans make up 1.6 percent of the United States population. Native Americans have over 500 tribes and speak over 200 unique languages. Native Americans are exceptionally diverse and in the United States, there are roughly 4.9 million Native Americans present (National Healthy Marriage Research Center, 2015). In the past, scientists were finding ways to group Native American tribes into small significant units. In 1896, a man named Otis T. Mason discovered a way to group all the tribes.
Being Hispanic to me is the strength the culture has given me to not give up. Hispanics in the United States face many struggles, not only when many decide to move to this country, but also the issues faced in the countries we come from. Being Hispanic has giving me values and responsibilities to represent who I am as individual; for my culture, my country, and my family. Since the beginning my family has been able to turn a bad situation around.
My family has always been the center of my universe. They’ve taught me the importance of being united and taking care of one another—because in the end, all we truly have is each other. My parents have raised me to be a good daughter, sister, and citizen. They’ve shaped me to be respectful, responsible, and virtuous, knowing these values will last a lifetime. But above all, my parents have instilled in me an appreciation and eagerness for education.
Family has to have a good influence on you to make you succeed. Family has to do what every it takes to put you in a good education. Family will put you in a safe environment. Family will do the world for

However, I have learned a lot about myself. It is important for me to recollect what I have learned and be confident going into the interviews. My goal is to recollect my strengths, my weaknesses and areas of improvements as it will allow me to prepare myself for the placement interviews and give me the confidence to stand out and demonstrate my professional experience. For the placement, the students have to initiate contact with the field instructors to set up appointments for interviews.
Through all the tough and terrible situations a person may be wrapped up in your family is usually the group of people you can go to, and get the best most helpful advice. In my family I have certain people that I can automatically go to and tell them my problems without being judged, and I always get the best advice. People in your family are the people you keep closest to you because they are blood, and they’re not friends that come and go. They are blood and will always be apart of you and want nothing but the best for you. People in a family that give the best advice are the ones who have gone through so many battles in their life because they know what it takes to overcome them.
