George Washington Carver was born in Diamond Grove, Missouri in January of 1864. His parents were Mary and Giles Carver, and their master was Moses Carver (the slave took up their owner’s last name.) Giles, George’s father left his mother before he was born, only to leave Mary, his mother, to raise George on her own. However, later on, Mary and George were kidnapped by northern raiders to be sold in Arkansas. George was returned frail, feeble and scrawny infant a year later in 1865 with no sign of his mother.

His father, Henry Lee, left Robert, and his siblings, when he was six and died when Robert was 11.

Robert E. Lee was Known for commanding the Confederate Army of North Virginia during the American Civil War from 1862 until his surrender during 1865 as an American soldier. He was born January 19, 1807 at Stratford Hall Plantation in Westmoreland County, Virginia. He died on October 12, 1870 at the age of 63, he was buried at the Lee Chapel Washington and Lee University in Lexington, Virginia. Robert was the son of Major General Henry Lee the third and Anne Hill Carter. His family is one of Virginia’s first families, originally arriving in Virginia from England in the early 1600s.

Hiram Ulysses Grant was born on April 27, 1822, in Point Pleasant Ohio.   He moved in with his parents, his father, Jesse Grant and his mother Hannah Simpson Grant to Georgetown, Ohio where his father ran a tannery. In 1839, his father, Jesse Grant, arranged his son’s to the U.S. military at West Point. The congressmen was told that Grant mistakenly believed that his name was Ulysses and that his middle name was Simpson (his mother’s maiden last name).

Robert E. Lee was born to Col. Henry Lee and Ann Hill Carter. When Lee’s father was beaten up by an angry mob and left to recover his health, Lee’s mother became the head of the family. Lee’s family struggled to make ends meet. However, from the difficult times, Lee took with him self-denial, self-control, and order. Lee’s family could not afford for him to attend a school with tutors.

Many Americans grew upset with the Confederation government. So Alexander Hamilton a lawyer and General’s Aid to George Washington decided to change the Articles of the Confederation. He called on the National Convention to overhaul the document. He requested that Congress call upon all of the states to attend a gathering in Philadelphia. George Washington was the first to arrive in Philadelphia giving the large amounts of creditability for the meeting bringing 55 men from all of the states.

To solve the problem the founding fathers healed a meeting in Philadelphia on May 25 to September 17,1787 during the war. There were 55 men from the 13 states. They had to and agreed to meet secretly for their safety. They decided to elect George Washington as the president of the convention. George washington was elected as the president of the convention because he won the revolutionary war that set the America free.

Robert E. Lee was born January 19th, 1807, in Virginia. Lee’s grandparents were English immigrants and prominent colonists in the original Virginia colony. Lee’s grandfather, Henry made a serious of poor financial investments and squandered much of their financial means. Lee’s father’s name was Harry. Harry fought with George Washington in the Revolutionary war and eventually delivered the eulogy at Washington’s funeral.

Washington had a tight grip on the country at the time, and was able to lead that country in war at any time. John Adams was still a founding father of the United States and did many great things in and out of office. John Adams was born on October 30, 1735 in Quincy, Massachusetts. He grew up with two brothers, Peter and Elihu Adams. At the age of 16, Adams went to Harvard and eventually graduated in 1755.

George also learned more about history and geography but lacked knowledge of literature and foreign languages, and George Washington did not know much about history such as Thomas Jefferson or James Madison. George Washington was the first president of the United States. He was born on February 22, 1732 and was chosen to be America’s first president in 1789. Washington served two terms as president. By the end of his second term, he was ready to retire; he could not serve another term as president. Before leaving office, he gave a farewell address which offered many pearls of wisdom which americans can learn from today.
