Globalisation has had a significant impact in the Australian market as companies utilise labour cost saving advantages and also allows companies to achieve economies of scale significantly impacting Australian businesses such as Mr Wiley. Economies of scale are when businesses are selling globally, and able to increase sales which result in increased production. These businesses will then be able to take advantage of economies of scale. When production is increased, fixed costs can be spread more thinly over a greater volume of sales, allowing firms to lower their costs, improve efficiency, raise profitability and make them more competitive. Globalisation has allowed Mr Wiley to achieve economies of scale, utilising cost saving advantages through bulk producing their resources. In 2021, As a small enterprise of 18 employees, Mr Wiley was able to successfully sell their goods globally through effective online marketing operations resulting in higher sales of $46978. These increased sales then resulted in an increase of production which meant that the enterprise was able to order in bulk and have cheaper production. The cost of producing a single unit, such as a jumper, was $20 in 2018. However after globalisation influencing economies of scale, Mr wiley was able to manufacture 30,000 units,so the cost per unit decreased to $15. This allowed Mr Wiley to become more cost efficient because they were producing more products for a cheaper price. Therefore as a result of Mr wiley producing more it was able to take advantage of economies of scale, such as using more machines, consuming less electricity, and requiring staff for fewer hours. Therefore, globalisation has brought significant advantages to Australian businesses by facilitating economies of
We discussed how Jeremy handles product costs . The inventory method uses a straight cost
One advantage from globalization is the idea of joint-stock companies. Joint-stock companies gave multiple people around the world the ability to own a company and make money off of it, even if the partial owners didn't live near the company (Document
Throughout our lives, things around us have been changing, simple things, such as iPhones and other technology because of globalization. Globalization since the second world war has been mostly better for us than worse because there are decreased poverty rates and life expectancy has increased, but we are polluting our world with environmental destruction and Co2 emissions. Since the Second World War, extreme rates of poverty have decreased. According to Document 1, starting around 1950, there was a steep decrease in extreme poverty. It went from around 60% in 1950 to lower than 20% in 2015.
Globalization, whether measured as the increased exposure of domestic markets to the international economy or more broadly construed as the fast pace integration of national societies into a densely connected political, technological and social community, is widely seen as a relatively new phenomenon that offers risks as well as opportunities. Security in a globalized society in more ensured than ever before. For the Oceania Region of Australia consisting of Australia and New Zealand, globalization has reshaped the identity from a deep rooted past to a fluid, transparent society. Specifically, Australia has greatly relied upon the security that comes from being an active member in a global society.
5.) An example of the concept of economies of scale would be a phone company producing too much of their phones when the demand decreases creating a lost for the company. 6.) Some capacity considerations in a hospital are beds, rooms, and staff. The difference in capacity considerations between a hospital and a factory is that the hospital can add capacity quickly and factory is more limited.
Benjamin Franklin said, “No nation was ever ruined by trade.” During the early modern era, technological advancements in shipbuilding and increased knowledge on wind and current patterns made global trading possible. The increased flow of trade in the 1300s through 1800s created important social relations and economic opportunities due to the increased integration of foreign people and desire to be wealthiest and most powerful, while improving government, culture, and ideas in the modern world. Global trading increased the spread of people, which also increased the spread of religion and culture.
Globalization in the past 80 years has connected our world exceptionally well compared to the years before. Just under 80 years ago, when World War II ended, people saw an opportunity to grow together and learn from past mistakes. Globalization has brought the world together which has caused poverty rates to go down, work systems to become stronger leading to more accessibility, and overall life expectancy to increase. Globalization has forever changed the ways of the world and will continue to benefit people by bringing us together to become one substantial world. Globalization has benefited our world involving the decrease in poverty rates.

Abstract The Wilkerson Company started facing declination in profits due to the price cutting on their pumps. On the contrary, while the price pumps were decreasing to record numbers, the flow controllers, which controlled the rate and direction flow of chemicals, could increase its prices without significant loss or any competitive response. Wilkerson, his controller, and manufacturing manager developed an activity-based cost model (ABC) to better comprehend the various demands that each product line makes on the organization 's indirect and support resources. Exhibit 1 showed us our operating results, Exhibit 2 showed us our product profitability analysis, Exhibit 3 displayed our product data, and Exhibit 4 was a compilation of the monthly
As sellers in this system aim to maximize profit, they will find ways to make production efficient and cost low. And because the buyers are willing to pay for the services and products that they
2. TECHNOLOGY: Automation is led way to decrease in the cost of production. Techniques to optimize production means the suppliers will supply more at a lesser rate. Coca cola recently implemented the Siemens automation to increase the capacity of its bottling plants. This ensures that the capacity of the plants increased manifolds and thus lowering the cost of production.
The company has individual websites, software development centers, customer service centers and fulfillment centers in many locations around the world (Rouse, 2018) II. IMPACTS OF GLOBALIZATION a. VARIOUS WAYS IN WHICH GLOBALIZATION AFFECTED
Therefore on that basis, all products, including pumps would be generating substantial contribution to overhead and profits. Therefore, given the overhead allocation problems, Wilkerson’s best bet would be to adopt the variable costing method for various reasons, as follows: 1. This cost concept provides a better understanding of the effect of fixed costs on the net profits, due to the fact that total fixed cost for the period is shown on the income statement. 2.
The Causes of Globalisation Globalisation has many causes but the one we take seriously is the economy and leave out the rest, the global causes have contributed on the world’s economy such as technology, financial, multinational corporations, labour and foreign direct investment.
