Golder Ranch Fire District (GRFD) prides itself on providing the highest level of service to the members of the district. GRFD has created a set of standards that reflect the high level of services provided. These standards can be found in both the Mission and Values Statement. Both statements represent the goals that GRFD strives to achieve and maintain. If an organization wants to be successful they must have a set of goals and values. These statements serve as a reminder to GRFD of the goals that we are always striving to achieve. Also, these statements serve as a reminder to the community stating what will be provided for them. Integrity is the common theme that guides the employees of the district. Integrity is always doing the right thing even when it’s the hard thing. Also, it can be defined as being honest and having strong moral principles. Integrity is not only an important trait for the district to have, but also for a person. I believe that having a set of morals is what defines a person. I strive to make integrity a part of my morals. I want GRFD personnel and residents of the district to know that I am going to be do the right thing no matter what. The rest of the statement describes how GRFD is going to be proactive and provide the best needs for the community. “…emerging needs of our community through teamwork, dedication, and professionalism.” If an organization cannot adapt and change to fit the needs of the matter then they will inevitably fail. GRFD demonstrates and continues to show how they will adapt to the community. It recently shows with the consolidation with Mountain Vista Fire Department (MVFD) and upcoming 18-01 academy. …show more content…
The Values Statement reinforces the Mission Statement. GRFD’s Values Statement takes an “ADIRECT” approach which stands for, Accountability, Dependable, Integrity, Respect, Excellence, Compassion, and Trust. These values are not new to me by any means. Fortunately, I was raised by family members who work in the fire service. They were able to show me the ropes at a very young age. Also, I have my parents to thank. I would not be the man or probationary firefighter I am today without them. My parents demonstrated ADIRECT ever since I could remember. Everything I know about character and morals is because of them. My parents always told me to be proud of my work and give full effort because at the end of the day I’m not only representing myself, but the Alderete name

Work Ethic Wildland firefighting is hard work, which hard work is not measured equally and has changed drastically over the generations. Work ethic is an essential component of the fireline due to the extreme hazards that are encountered. In order to go home at the end of the day it is crucial for wildland firefighters to have a strong character, a clear sense of teamwork/team cohesion, and dedication. These qualities help to comprise a well rounded and sought after wildland firefighter.
Integrity is defined as the quality of having, living by, keeping, and defending one’s firm moral principles in all circumstances. Men throughout history have exhibited this trait. Martin Luther King, Jr., portrayed this quality when he led the African-American Civil Rights Movement. Integrity was also ubiquitous throughout the Bible. Joseph, a Biblical character, displayed this quality throughout his life of slavery in Egypt.

I know that if I am every in a tough situation or I don’t know how to handle a problem, I can always come to my parents for advice to help me figure out what to do. I also know that my brothers will always be there for me if I ever need someone to talk to. My family always has my back in the toughest of times and I am beyond grateful for that. This makes me feel as if I never have to handle a tough situation alone. I am also very grateful that I have good friends that I can confide in and talk to about anything.

Stephanie Maxfield Professor T. Cortina English 1A 1 October 2014 Integrity: Politics, Faith, and Jimmy Carter. We often find ourselves in situations which prompt certain questions; questions we often try to carefully navigate around (or avoid all together). It is here where we note that a difference exists between those individuals who hold fast to their personal beliefs during multifarious situations, and those who do not. Inarguably, Life provides us with plenty of opportunities to decisively exercise and demonstrate virtuous qualities: specifically integrity. Integrity requires us to remain honest and decisively act upon moral and ethically sound reasoning.
While surviving through your daily life, have you ever come across an opportunity to travel to a hidden pocket of the universe? These opportunities are few and far between, and most people seem to let the chance pass by. Whether it be not knowing what could come out of it, or being afraid to step up to the plate, the moments go unnoticed. However I seized the chance to visit the “hidden pocket” of the universe called Philmont Scout Ranch. Over the years the scouting program has enabled me to have many of these “opportunities”, however this was different.

These values have a cultural variance according to the majority or an individual’s immersion, creating a tension as to whom has integrity? This confusion requires a solution through clear definition, provided by the Miriam Webster dictionary. Integrity is a firm adherence to a code of especially moral values: incorruptibility (Miriam Webster, n.d.). These moral values of right and wrong are definable under legislative and common laws, as well as
When it comes to having and being able to maintain a strong moral code, front line patrol officers are the perfect example of what law enforcement requires.
