Imagine being torn from your home, forced into camps, discriminated against to the extreme, separated from your family, and possibly even killed just because of your religious beliefs. Many of Europe's Jews suffered this treatment. About 5-6 million jews out of 9 million Jews died in the holocaust. Marion Blumenthal-Lazan, was a jew who did not die. She should receive the Holocaust Medal of Honour.

How did they decide who would be in hiding? When did Jan die? After researching these questions more, I found the answers to them, and many more! First of all, Miep did die afterwards; she survived the war and died on January 11, 2010 at the age of 100. I think of concentration

Jews were forced to live in specific areas of the city called ghettos after the beginning of World War ll. In the larger ghettos, up to 1,000 people a day were picked up and brought by train to concentration camps or death camps. Elie Wiesel was a survivor in the Holocaust.

A wartime hero during the holocaust was a man named Raoul Wallenberg. Wallenberg helped save over an estimated 100,000 people from the Nazis by issuing fake passports and housing jews. This was a pure act of humanity and compassion. Raoul didn 't care if he would be punished or killed but instead made a selfless act to help another person. There were many cases just like this one

Inge was one out of 15,000 children in Terezin. She was among the one percent that survived. (“Inge Auerbacher”) Inge still had challenges that stuck with her after the Holocaust. She and her parents were released from Terezin after three miserable years.

On April 11, 1945, Harry J. Herder Jr. and his company discovered one of the many secret horrors of World War II that dotted the European landscape; the Buchenwald concentration camp. Unfortunately, in the ghettos there was not any stores or shacks to buy things, so the prisoners had to attempt to steal the food. The prisoners would trade anything and everything in order to get food. The amount of food in the ghettos that was allowed varied from day to day depending on how the prisoners acted towards their sergeants. Introduction: During the Holocaust, many people suffered from the despicable actions of others. These actions were influenced by hatred, intolerance, and anti-semitic views of people. The result of such actions were the deaths of millions during the Holocaust, a devastating genocide aimed to eliminate Jews. In this tragic event, people, both initiators and bystanders, played major roles that allowed the Holocaust to continue. Bystanders during this dreadful disaster did not stand up against the Nazis and their collaborators.
