People were benefited in many ways because of the changes that were made, it helped to create new social classes. The new factories had created new and large amounts of wealth, this wealth belonged mainly to the factory owners, and merchants. This had created a brand new middle class made up of skilled workers, business people, and wealthy farmers. I am 15 years old and according to the rules and regulations of the state of Pennsylvania I am not allowed to be hired for a job. The mandatorily age to start working is 16, even if I was 16 I would only be working for minimum wage, the lowest possible amount. Many new laws and regulation had been created to make shore that workers and their working conditions stay safe and are fair. For example, The Federal Mine Safety and Health Act of 1977 (MSHA) states that mine operators, are responsible to make shore that all employees have a safe working environment. Coalmining was a prominent industry throughout eastern Pennsylvania, northern Maryland, and Wyoming. In 1885, legislation was passed in order to restrict the working age of miners. Breaker boys, who worked aboveground to sort slate, rocks, and other debris from the coal, were required to be at least twelve years of age. Underground miners were required to be at least fourteen years of age. The industrial revolution completely changed America as we know it. It brought many changes to our nation- some good and some bad. The Industrial Revolution changed how we produce and consume goods. It was so groundbreaking that we still feel the effects today. Prominent inventions of the time are pictured in document 3.
The Industrial Revolution was a time when the world was experiencing new inventions very often. In the late 1700s, the Industrial Revolution came to America with a man named Samuel Slater, who had memorized a design for a new technology. Slater introduced America to the textile-making industry, building America's first textile mill on Rhode Island. After this, many new inventions and processes surfaced, helping America rise to the top in global economy. This new system of manufacturing overturned America's old agricultural based economy, which means that the Industrial Revolution really was a revolution.
The Industrial Revolution shaped the growing economy at the time in many positive and negative aspects. The Industrial Revolution took place during the late 1800’s and the early 1900’s and was considered to be the “New Industrial.” Many things were brought to the economy at the time due to this occurring; some in which being machinery, technology, production of goods, and even performance. Before the Industrial Revolution people made different things by hand or simple tools. For example, people wove textiles by hand, and after the Industrial Revolution machines were used instead. The Industrial Revolution began in England because of many reasons.
These reforms included stricter safety standards, shorter work hours, and the elimination of dangerous working conditions. As a result of these efforts, New York and other states began to pass laws that regulated child labor and improved working conditions for all workers. In New York, for example, the state passed the Labor Law of 1913, which prohibited children under the age of 14 from working in factories and required employers to provide safety equipment and training.
