The Neolithic Revolution was born from humans evolving away from the hunter-gatherer lifestyle and towards growing and raising their own food. Humans were thrust into a completely new lifestyle that would change many factors within a population. Many people began to gather, and this caused a spike in the population. Though causing good, it also created many new conditions that caused for new health problems, and the weakening of human’s relationship with nature. Civilization was given all the tools it required to evolve into a more efficient, sturdy world. The Neolithic Revolution created a new environment and conditions that moved civilization toward modern day.
The change towards agriculture happened in various places all around the same time. Humans discovered that by domesticating the minority of plants and animals that were worth

Their bodies were not built to do such back-breaking work. Farming caused problems with the spine, and even arthritis. Though, civilization still continued with this new method. This was so because this method of food was usually predictable. With hunting-gathering, food was a daily question. With farming, most seasons are predictable, and so more food comes with a steady supply guarantee, even if only for part of a year. Animals that were domesticated could also be relied on for plowing crops, carrying heavy things, and transporting goods long distances. This pushed the Neolithic Revolution forward because civilization began to get more usage out of the different things it learned to grow and domesticate. This was dangerous, because once humans began treating things as possessions, violence could ensue. Since the food supply also played a part directly with nature, this could cause for religion to develop even more. People started to pray to Rain Gods for rain so their crops would grow. This evolution of the Neolithic Revolution is due to a more guaranteed food supply and the usage of more
It allows us to break down barriers between other communities. Also, the new farming equipment helped make the lives of both worlds a lot more productive and easier. Animals were based around the farming equipment to allow them to pull. We still use some of the equipment in this lifetime. For instance, the plow.
1. How could Australopithecus have benefited from walking on two legs? (Explain at least two benefits) The two benefits of bipedalism are flexibility and having more energy efficiency. Flexibility is a key benefit of bipedalism, because it allowed Australopithecus to take advantage of more/different environment rather than one. According to the book (p.8) “The rain forest abounded with fruits and nuts, but on the other hand the woodlands offered grasses and seeds.”
Changes had become inevitable and sedentary people were trying to adapt to obtain food. The Neolithic Revolution was important in three ways: sedantism (Natufian), food production, and domestication (animal domestication was crucially important to Old World, not New World). The shift from hunter-gatherer to sedentary was gradual and slow that emerge from the Middle East and eventually spreading to Asia, Europe, and Northern African. Eventually, the effects of the Neolithic Revolution created agricultural advantages that help with the growth of population, trade, government, and
In Guns, Germs, and Steel James Diamond analyzed the causes and effects of the Neolithic Revolution. Causes of the Neolithic Revolution included crops and the domestication of animals. The Neolithic Revolution started when people began to plant their own crops. People built villages and then farmed the land around those villages. They farmed crops that were productive, like wheat.
Farming was useful for crops like wheat but corn, pumpkin and beans were planted because they were able to grow in the poor soil they had.
In the 18th to 19th century in Europe, the agricultural revolution made farming more efficient which allowed more people to get fed with less labor, which led to a massive population growth. With a much bigger and healthier population and new technologies and resources to take part, new factories emerged ran by capitalists and entrepreneurs. This in turn called for new ways of organizing human labor to maximize the benefits and profits from the new machines. Thus, the Industrial Revolution began and this idea slowly spread throughout Europe and eventually to the United States.
In the Indus River Valley Civilization, cattle, pigs, sheep and goats were the animals they domesticated (BBC). The cattle were used as their beasts of burden, to help them plow the fields, while the other animals were mostly food (BBC). As both food sources and the means through which the Indus River Valley people could develop more food sources in the form of crops, the domestication of animals proved crucial for them. The results of the Neolithic Revolution, however, proved slightly different for
Jared Diamond Claim/Counterclaim Essay By: Trent Dickerson I have very mixed opinions on the statements of Jared Diamond and the Neolithic revolution. A way that I think it is bad is because it could have possibly caused overpopulation. A reason that I think it is good is because it allowed us to settle down in one place and have less people die from starvation. Another reason it was good was because it created the invention of agriculture.
The North American nature had been influenced by human activities since long time ago. Agriculture is a major feature of human impacts. It is a part of the essential ministry also key development in the North American's society. The North American landscape had been cultivated in the early sixteenth century, which surrounded villages and houses. People were seeking ancient fields that they could cultivate artificial fields to feed plants and livestock.
Due to this it lead to stable societies and complex civilizations. The agricultural revolution brought about new ways to harvest and almost nearly eliminated the need to hunt and gather. Agriculture became a huge part of life and brought great changes and advancements to the human society as the revolution became more and more popular throughout time and the world. Code of Hammurabi: The Code of Hammurabi set laws and rules for which the mesopotamian people would have to live by in order to live in their own cultural society.
Ever since the emergence of mankind, humans have always prioritized their search for food and water. Even today the need for sustenance is still prominent; however, methods for producing it have evolved over time. The Paleolithic people went about scavenging, hunting, fishing, and gathering on their quest for food. The Neolithic Revolution marked a transition from such practices into the “cultivations of crops and the domestication of animals.” (Strayer, pg.12) Even after thousands of years, although techniques have changed, the basic concept of agricultural cultivation has still remained similar.
The problem was that there was not the right terrain for farming. WIthout farming it is very hard to have a steady food supply for the growing nation. This caused a need for innovation and caused the invention of terrace farming. Without people settling around mountains and hills in early civilzations, the practice of terrace farming may have never been created, and civilizations may have never been able to settle on or around these kinds of terrains. This would have vastly changed the world with less land to settle and create society, and it may have caused even more conflict in the world because without the option of settling on or around hills and mountains being available, the same civilizations that would have settled there would be packed closer together in a smaller space.
Tending to crops took less time than hunting and gathering food so humans used
However, agriculture was one of the things that were inevitable. Without the changes that our ancestors went through life wouldn’t be comfortable as it is today, even though not all counties are as blessed as the United States. Agriculture allowed humans to expand their minds and create innovating inventions developing a new
New agricultural technology changed the early middle ages for the better. The agricultural revolution of the middle ages meant a technical advance in farming which makes lives of those involved
