Have you ever wondered where the light bulb came from, or why you are able to have electricity everywhere in your house, or who invented what lets you watch your favorite movies and TV shows? Well, all this and much more was made possible by Thomas Alva Edison. Thomas Edison was a creative inventor that pushed the science world forward 100 years and had a major positive impact on his decade, the world, and even the rest of history.
Thomas Edison had a major positive impact on his society. A large portion of jobs and inventions can be traced back to the late 19th and early 20th centuries. this shows that most of the common day materials and electronics can be traced back to the time when Thomas Edison was inventing when he was just 16. Edison invented the automatic reaper. This allowed for people to

Edison was known world-wide as the wizard of Menlo Park, The Father of the electric age, and the greatest inventor to ever live. Also that when WWII broke out, he was asked to invent defencive weapons for submarines, and war ships. He also innovated things by using rubber, concrete, and ethanol. In 1887, Edison opened the first building committed only to research and development in New Jersey. One year after opening, it was deemed the largest testing laboratory in the world.
Thomas Edison was a creative inventor that pushed the science world forward 100 years by inventing the lightbulb, quadruplex transmitter, telegraph, helping with the making of the telephone and much more. Plus he had a major positive impact on his decade by serving in the civil war, saving lives and creating jobs. He also had a major impact on the world by allowing safe lasting light with the light bulb, easy communication with the telegraph, and electrical distribution. Next time you call a friend or turn on the lights, think of Thomas Edison, because without him, they wouldn’t
Eli Whitney was an American inventor born on December 8th, 1765. His inventions played a crucial role in the advancement of America. Eli Whitney was educated at Yale University where he planned to study law until funds went short. After Yale he took the offer to become a private tutor at a South Carolina school. Eli was married to Henrietta Edwards.
Some people can be smart in math, others in science, and some are just brilliant in entrepreneurship. When Morgan found a need in safe lighting he did not hold back, he found a well-known and trusted scientist. Thomas Edison had already been working on the lightbulb and John knew it was it was the next big thing. He
Nikola Tesla Figure From Progressive Era Research Paper Essay Nikola Tesla is an inventor with a very vivid imagination a visionary who saw electricity as a means to change the world. He deserves a place in history for the many accomplishments and contributions he made throughout his lifetime. One such invention that he made impacted the world for being the only person to perfect the efficient use of alternating-current electricity which is widely used for power transmission in the world today. Nikola Tesla laid the groundworks for some modern technology used today and thus he deserves a place in history for proving how much of an impact he has made on the world. Motivations Nikola Tesla as an inventor who had a vivid imagination and had big
The Transcontinental Railroad made traveling more efficient and made a boom in the railroad market. The first incandescent light bulb was made by inventor Thomas Alva Edison in 1879. This was a huge scientific breakthrough for the future of electricity. People no longer had to use dangerous gaslights that could easily cause fires. Edison had created something scientists had been struggling with for years and finally made a long lasting, affordable light source.
He continue to create an electrical system. Thomas Edison continued to industrialize after inventing the bulb, thus giving us life of electricity. LABOR ISSUES The U.S faced
His work is crucial to the way electronics function today and has been a one of the most beneficial scientists of his era. Tesla made A/C, alternating current, relevant making electricity more common use. A/C is used in almost every form of technology, from phones to computers and light. Many of his inventions have also changed how technology has evolved over the years. Tesla played a key role in x-rays and believed that everything around us is there we just need to create devices to understand it(The 10 Inventions of Nikola Tesla That Changed the World).
Benjamin Franklin achieved many goals in his life. He invented things like bifocals, the lightning rod, and the Franklin stove. He was a leading author and printer as well as a politician, scientist, inventor, and civic activist. He was a great man who used his energy and persistence
All throughout American history there has many intelligent individuals that have played significant role in our society. I believe Thomas Edison has been one of the most influential people. He was an American inventor who is considered one of America’s leading businessman. People today credit him for helping to build America’s economy during the nation’s vulnerable early years. Thomas had a very good childhood and was a very hard worker as a teenager.
Scientist, diplomat, and inventor are three elements that describe Benjamin Franklin. Many people know that Benjamin Franklin studied electricity, but he did so much more. As a well known diplomat, Ben Franklin, showed Americans that they should be freed from British rule by fighting for their freedom. He left a lasting legacy as a Revolutionary War hero, a founding father, and a great scientist. The origin of Benjamin Franklin started when he ran away from his family at the age of 17.
Group B – Question #2 Thomas Edison had huge impacts on the United States. Not just because he brought electricity to all parts of the country or because he created the high-powered phonograph, but because he also had an influence on the modern business world. Because of Thomas Edison the business and industrial realm were able to merge with science. In the United States, modern technology had an evident distinction between industrial America and the American home before Thomas Edison came into the picture.
In the beginning years after America had finally claimed their independence from Britain, it began the long tremendous journey of American Ingenuity. From this there was the production of many essential inventions to society, that would leave an impact on the world for the rest of time. Some inventions that produced this impact was the telegraph, airplanes and the power looms. One of the most notable inventors of this time period was Eli Whitney who created three inventions that left a tremendous influence on the agriculture and American progress. Eli Whitney was originally born in Westborough, Massachusetts a few years before America gained their independence.
“One of the most famous and prolific inventors of all time, Thomas Alva Edison exerted a tremendous influence on modern life, contributing inventions such as the incandescent light bulb, the phonograph, and the motion picture camera, as well as improving the telegraph and telephone” (Library of Congress) Edison was one of the best inventors of all time, With so many amazing inventions still contributing to modern life today. This shows a side of people glorifying Thomas Edison for his amazing achievements but completely overlooking all the bad things he did while trying to make a name for himself. “Edison’s detractors insist that his greatest invention was his own fame, cultivated at the expense of collaborators and competitors alike. ”(The NewYorker)
Over 37,000,000 immigrants come to the United States every year. But how much do they really affect America? People like Albert Einstein, Nikola Tesla, and Levi Strauss all came to the U.S from different countries and changed our world today. Without them, some of the most advanced technology, scientific discoveries, and innovative clothes wouldn’t exist today. The fields of science, technology, and fashion were positively impacted by immigrants.
Franklin was known for creating many things that we still use today, and we will continue uses for many years to come. Inventions that we still use today would be the lightning rod, street lighting, odometer, Bifocal glasses, and the discovery of Daylight Saving Time. Franklin invented the lightning rod to protect the building from lightning; Franklin believed this was the most important inventions. With street lighting, he only improved it by using the scientific method to help improve the quality of light. As he describe it in his Autobiography, "I, therefore, suggested composing them of four flat panes, with a long funnel above to draw up the smoke, and crevices admitting air below, to facilitate the ascent of the smoke; by this means they were kept clean, and did not grow dark in a few hours, as the London lamps do, but continu'd bright till morning."
Thomas Edison is an American inventor and businessman, who has been described as “America’s greatest inventor.” His tireless work efforts and dedication to science not only helped him to create inventions that have advanced technology , but also become an inspirational figure for Americans. His improvements and inventions on objects that were already invented helped the lives of over millions of Americans. He helped to build America’s economy during some of its more vulnerable years as a new nation. Thomas Edison’s inventions have helped to advance our society though his dedications and knowledge in mechanical, electrical, and chemical sciences.
