How do you define success in college?
Success in college is about finding joy and liberation in independence and character development. Success is understanding that you have the capabilities to reach out to support those who may not have the same opportunities for success as you did. It is losing and finding yourself in the midst of some of the most trying situations and understanding that traditional “success” is not always the goal.
8. How do you believe the Impact: Leadership & Mentoring Program would enhance your college experience?
Impact will allow me to develop confidence in my skills and abilities. Because it will be my last semester at UNM, it will allow me to transfer all my accumulated knowledge of the university and leave my legacy at the school. Additionally, it will allow me to interact with other women who have similar goals.

Goal 1: Enhancing Student Success Morgan State University is a prestigious and distinguished institution
It has helped me to become more open minded and to develop a more compassionate moral philosophy. I feel that this has better equipped me to actively participate in conversations with other interns, and with the distinguished professors brought in by the program. It has also opened my eyes to unique and specific problems that each minority group faces. While, to many, this makes me an easily offended millennial, it also makes me more aware of the effects of my words and privileges and of how I can aid my peers in a respectful way that helps everyone move forward and helps to level the playing field so that issues of equity are being dealt with as opposed to issues of
In National Honor Society, I engage in volunteer projects for community service hours which showcase the four pillars of scholarship, leadership, service, and character. I also hold the Secretary position in SADD club. My duties include making announcements, informing members of upcoming meetings, and helping other officers with their duties.
When you think of success what comes to mind? In sports it’s making it to the pros. In business it’s making your first million. In high school it can be as simple as acing that test you studied for all night. No matter what profession you are in, success is the desired goal.
Success, a word we hear everyday and live our lives to achieve, but what does it mean to you? Throughout this school year, while exploring success I have learned what success means to me. While your stand may not be acceptable to others, success is when you have found happiness in your position in life, because you know you have given it your all , and have become a person you are happy being. People have a habit of basing their success off of the expectations of others.
I was the vice-president and the nursing club student council representative while in Montgomery College. I formulated and implemented some policies pertaining to the club. In The Outliers: The Story of Success, Malcolm Gladwell emphasizes that success is achieved by external forces in which certain individuals are granted particular opportunities and advantages that not everybody is given by destiny. What is the meaning of success? In general, success means to have a goal set in mind, have a plan to accomplish a goal, work hard and achieve it. Commonly, achieving success is a process that requires time, effort, and dedication in order to accomplish it. Success might have different meanings to everyone; therefore there is no right or wrong answer.
Each and everyone has our own idea of how success looks like. But for me, success is something that you’ve worked so hard to get to that you now have pride to have or be. But success isn’t so easy to reach. There's going to be challenges and times where one thinks they won't succeed. Its when you’ve flourished to the point where you’re happy with the placement of your life.
What does the word success mean? Many argue different things, some say that success is how much money you have and some say that it’s how happy you are. In reality, success has little to do with those things; the definition simply depends on who you ask. In the book Into the Wild, Jon Krauker distinguishes Chris McCandless’s ultimate goal very early in the book; Chris wanted to avoid the norms and live a simple life in the Alaskan wilderness. Success is not defined as fame, money, or power, but as the goals, people achieve for themselves and society.
The Vice President of the Mills Park Middle School National Junior Honor Society is obligated to uphold a substantial leadership status and accentuate the five pillars of NJHS, amidst both their peers and respective communities. Furthermore, the Vice President ought to assist and collaborate effectively with the selected NJHS President. A President and a Vice President that can unite and take on a challenge together, establish an unbreakable bond that reflects remarkably on the society being led. This strong relationship applies not only to the President, but to the other officers and members of the National Junior Honor Society as well. It is the role of an NJHS officer to represent the voices of the students and form a collective opinion.
Being able to connect with the community and with my peers will be a valuable and unforgettable experience. Not only will I be able to learn from the community, but from my fellow peers, medical students, high school students, and other undergraduates as well. Getting to me mentored by people who have done what I want to do will be enriching, it’ll be an experience that ill cherish forever. Creating long lasting friendships with people who have similar interest.
Success is found in all goals that are accomplished no matter how small or large that they are. Being successful doesn 't always mean that one must accomplish goals that are hard. To others it could be marrying the person they love. To be happy with that person for the rest of their life is a big success. Being successful at an educational standpoint would be graduating college with a degree in a future career.
What does success mean to me? It means accomplishing things in life and reaching your goals. Everyone has a different view of what success actually is. Success also means setting a goal and reaching it in a time frame you set for yourself. For example I believe finishing college and gaining a career in a field you love is being successful because it is a goal that can be achieved.
“Academic success,” for me, doesn’t mean graduating high school with a 4.0 GPA and attending an Ivy League college with a ton of scholarships. Personally, the term “academic success” means being able to feel proud of my own dedication and the hard work that I put in. Having the end result ultimately be, walking across the stage at graduation; whether that be at my high school graduation next year or my college graduation down the line. I know I will have achieved the epitome of my own “academic success” when I am dress in a cap and gown and am sitting at either of my graduations. All I hope for is that I am able to attend a college I want to attend, have proud parents, and in the end, proud of myself.
