ISIS has had probably one of the biggest impacts on Canada ever since Justin Trudeau has started to let refugees or immigrants into Canada, some of those refugees and immigrants are part of ISIS.
The first reason ISIS has made an impact is that they have been trying to kill people, but a lot of the people who tried killing people failed and have been sent to court. Some of the examples are. September 25th an ISIS member tried killing a police officer at 10:04pm after running the cop over with a silver chevy and getting out and stabbing the cop 8 times in the legs and running off into a u-haul van. Another attempted murder was at a Canadian tire in Winnipeg at 8:32am.
The second reason ISIS is impacting Canada is that people have been caught
Canada has been one of the twelve original members of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) since it was founded in 1949, a few years after the end of World War 2 and at the beginning of an almost nuclear disaster known as the Cold War. This intergovernmental military alliance initially made up of the United States, Canada and Western European nations (Belgium, Denmark, France, Iceland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, and the United Kingdom) plays a significant role to secure international peace and has become the heart of Canadian security and defence policy. Canada is very proud to have contributed to every NATO operation since the founding of this organization more than sixty years ago, proving the commitment
In this century, the world has witnessed numerous changes in regards to policies made on immigration. This has been attributed to many factors among them being economic factors, cultural exchange and out of good faith. Among the models that these countries use include; assimilation model, acculturation model, alternation model, multicultural model and fusion model which always serves the interest of the host countries. In the recent past, the strict policies that barred immigration have been done away with and instead more friendly policies put in place. Most countries embrace foreigners based on the diversity model, multiculturalism and many other factors.
ISIS is not only a group to be feared, it is a group with power. ISIS controls over half of Syria’s oil asset, as well as multiple oil fields in Iraq. This oil is taken and sold on the black market by ISIS. The sales of oil on the black market bring in ISIS roughly three million dollars daily. In today’s world money means power, and looking at it in those terms means ISIS
FLQ’s total disregard for human lives was evident from their most devastating attack on the Montreal stock exchange, on Feb. 13th 1969, This explosion caused massive destruction, estimated in the millions of dollars, and seriously injured 27 people. Despite such gruesome acts by the terrorist organization like FLQ, the authorities in the province of Quebec seemed powerless as they were unable to raid and make arrest of suspects unless they are granted warrants, which sometimes took months to obtain. Some people might argue that only two high profile kidnappings don’t provide
The Liberal government further justified their cause by claiming a security intelligence failure which led to a lack of preparation for the FLQ bombardment and so extreme measures had to be legislated to deal with the threat. With this knowledge, it becomes understandable why PM Trudeau took the most extreme measures when dealing with a terror movement that was the first of its kind in
This is significant due to the actions that the government has taken in the name of “military intervention” so as to deter nations from building up to war or a war crisis in the Middle East. WIth that, terrorism is now an excuse to go and continue building up nation 's’ military to counter criminal acts and to deter further weaponry buildup in terrorist areas. As one can see, 9/11 has impacted war in terms of politics, western presence, and military
Canada 's role in the world has been a strong one. They have helped and saved many people independently and with the help of other country 's and alliances. Some of these roles were very beneficial to our future. Some of the major roles were with the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, United Nations and North American Air Defense Agreement. These roles have created a more open country.
Challenges in Afghanistan has seen Afghanistan has been seeing challenges since 1970 During the past 20 years regard 2.5 millions of Afghans had died because of war Afghanistan is better off now than 2001 because of the harsh things that the taliban 's have done to the Afghanistans Challenges Canada has seen September 2006 in the battle 300 militants and 5 canadians died 45 canadians had died for bombing and etc. In January 15 2006 a canadian soldier Diplomat Glyn Berry because the first civilian to die in the mission in afghanistan. Berry was killed in a suicide attack on armoured vehicle he was driving.
Terrorism and its impact on policing Stockton University Grizel Rivera 10/28/2015 Abstract Terrorism has not made a lasting impact on Americans until September 11, 2001. Since 9/11, research on terrorism has been increasing and it had been determined that terrorism is a complex area. So law enforcement needs to be educated on the different aspects of terrorism. Since September 11th, local, state, and federal law enforcement have made changes to become more effective in detecting terrorists and deterring attacks.
Canada is talked amongst other countries throughout the world as a safe, secure place to live. Majority of people do not know the heinous crimes that take place in Canada daily, especially whilst using a gun. Canada does not come close to the United States when comparing mass shootings, death by a gun, or homicides using a gun; although, the gun crimes in Canada are not improving. While Canada has more stringent gun laws than the united states, gun control in Canada should still be improved for citizen’s safety. Canada is often praised for having more efficient gun laws than the United States, but most people do not know that Canadian laws too, have much room for improvement.
Throughout Canadian history, free trade in particular has changed Canada and it’s economy for the better. The free trade agreement (FTA) signed in 1989, assisted Canada’s economy in many ways, such as removing most of the tariffs on trade goods, increasing trade with the USA, and leading the way to the creation and signing of the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA). All of these boosted Canada’s economy and strengthened the bonds with new and old trade partners. After this agreement was established, it becomes clear very quickly that the FTA was exactly what Canada needed. As well as opened new doors to opportunities for Canada.
The impact of WW2 played a major role in helping Canada become a more strong, united nation, with equality, respect, and human rights. To begin with, before WWII there was lots of discrimination shown towards minority groups and many other cultures in Canada and because of this Canada created some inhumane mistakes. Canada allowed internment, allowed residential schools, and violation of human rights. When the Holocaust started it was like an eye opener for Canadians because they started to experience what the Holocaust underwent. This made Canadians realize that what they had done was wrong.
First and foremost, we see goal variance with ISIS being a splinter group off of Al-Qaeda with ISIS’s goal to create an Islamic caliphate in Iraq, Syria, and a few other countries. As ISIS becomes stronger it has created an almost gravitational pull. It has attracted many other paramilitary and terrorist organizations. These smaller groups are fragments from larger militias of mostly Islamic origin. The most notable is a fragmented group from the Taliban who do not always get along with the extreme ideologies of the ISIS leaders.
Although these horrid things have happened to them, the people of Canada have to be cared for first. There are many security risks of accepting refugees into Canada, because some of these refugees might be part of a terrorist organization with a mission to cause harm to Canadians. A woman named Rehab Dughmosh ( Syrian ) has been arrested for attacking people at a Canadian Tire store. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police ( RCMP ) have laid terror-related charges against her, including an attempted murder in benefit or association with a terrorist group. The Canadian government needs to look more closely at these refugees and need to realize that these refugees aren’t as important as the well being of Canada and its
One international terrorist organization likely to conduct a terrorist attack in the United States is the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant, also known as ISIL or ISIS. According to the Committee on Homeland Security, in all of 2014 the number of ISIS linked plots against western targets is 19. Since January 2015, until the Terror Threat Snapshot was released July 2nd, the rate has doubled to 28. Not only is this organization likely to conduct a terrorist attack in the United States, it already has and will continue to do so until they are stopped. ISIL has been around for many years and have gone by other names in the past.
