How Revolutionary Was The Revolutionary War Revolutionary?

The Revolutionary War was the beginning of our fight for independence as a nation from Britain. Without the men and women who selflessly aided in the fight for independence, the United States of America would have never formed. A vital part of the Revolutionary War as well as any war is intelligence or information gathered on the enemy. The amount and importance of gathered intelligence can win or lose a war. During the war, a group of motivated Patriots played a vital role in gathering important intelligence on the British military.

Taxes! After the French and Indian War, the British government needed money to pay for the cost of protecting the colonists from the French and Indians. The British government approved several taxes including the Stamp and Tea Acts to help pay for the costs of the war. The colonists were expected to pay these taxes.

Philosophers, have been trying to define what is the meaning of government. The American revolutionary war has redefined what is a government and people are still trying to figure it out. Therefore the revolution hasn’t ended. A revolution is a change in a political organization, especially when a government or ruler is overthrown and substituted by the governed. With that being said, the war was not a revolution.

The American Revolution was one of the most important wars that was fought in the history of the United States. Wealthy people lost their money, there was a new government, it made citizens question slavery, and certainly more freedom for the Americans. The term “Revolutionary” is an instantaneous change or shift that promotes equal rights, liberty, and freedom. So, while some may argue that the revolution was a turning point for America, The American revolution in this case is not revolutionary since slavery was still present, minority groups did not gain rights, and British ideals and tactics were still being used in the new government. One of the crucial pieces of evidence that this “revolution” could not be considered revolutionary is because of the slavery still taking place even after the war ended. Throughout the revolt against British rule in the 16th century, the American people fought under the banner of truth, justice, and liberty for all people, However, the only people that indeed

I believe that the American Revolution was revolutionary because there were many events, impacts, and effects after the war was over. When something is “Revolutionary” it means that it causes a dramatic or drastic change. The Boston Tea Party was a violent, courageous, and an eventful act that took place in 1997 because of constant disputes. It started to become a large issue when the British and English colonist constantly disagreed about the unfair taxes that were charged from the British. The colonists didn’t agree to the taxes at all the the government officials formed a plan. The British put such a hefty tax on the tea because they realized the demand was so outrageously high, and they could make a much larger profit off of it. Colonists did not want to pay the huge taxes, so they started buying/smuggling tea from East India, but the British wanted to have the colonists to buy tea from them because of the taxes.

During the 1700s America and it’s 13 colonies made a bold decision to revolt from Great Britain and become their own independent nation. This started a revolution that would forever change the way Americans would live. The War of Independence or better known as the American Revolution, consisted of the 13 colonies of America trying to gain independence from Great Britain and on July 4th 1776, America finally decided to declare their independence. Many say the revolution paved the way for many other great changes to take place, while others believed not a lot was impacted due to the revolution. France made a choice to assist the United States military until they received independence from Great Britain. The Revolution had a huge part in slavery, such as bringing conflict between slavery and liberty because the North prohibited slavery. The South did not believe that slavery should be abolished.

The riot began when about 50 citizens attacked a British sentinel. A British officer called in additional soldiers, and they too were attacked, so the soldiers fired into the mob, killing 5. Unlike the British army, the American army consisted of 20,000 inexperienced troops and faced desperate shortages of firearm, uniforms, and food.
