bonus rounds 5, 8, and 10 being a two-person group decision, and the points earned being multiplied by 3, 5, and 10. The objective of the exercise is to win as much as possible. The primary lesson that I took from this exercise was that trust is important. It’s critical whom you trust, and what you say to certain individuals can directly affect the results. Furthermore, I learned that being patient and thinking things out clearly, would often yield different results. Also, I determined that communication and body language is important and critical for trust, yet, to try and not judge someone from their demeanor and behaviors. From observing others, I concluded that some individuals play well in a group environment where the …show more content…
This may have been a reflection of my lack of confidence, and where I subconsciously believe that I need to learn, grow and strengthen my skills as a leader. What I learned from others is that people gravitate to individuals who are familiar to them, and whom they’re comfortable with. I also observed that my longstanding relationships with many of my fellow colleagues might have dictated a neutral response from them. Furthermore, I learned that many people have different styles of communication, as well as various patterns of behavior. What I will apply to skillful leadership from this exercise is to try not to judge others, attempt to observe, communicate and be open-minded and supportive. Moreover, be mindful that my tone and actions have a significant effect on others, and attempt to listen and try to read gestures and body language. A significant insight that was observed from this exercise was that body language plays an important role in an individual’s behavior, which can transcend language and other cultural barriers. The fifth experiential exercise conducted was called “Break the Safe, and was comprised of a board game with 5 teams of 3-5 individuals. The objective of this exercise is to be a member of a group of agents who have 30 minutes to acquire four keys to unlock the safe and stop the countdown. Each team member is a spy trying to get the four keys against the booby traps that require a special tool to disarm. Furthermore, there is a guard and a guard dog that will send you to jail if they successfully catch
I explained the purpose of the interview and explained that she was not the subject of the interview. Schemer explained that on Friday, December 11, 2015 at approximately 0610 hours, she was in the mail room along with PSS Perry when Hale came in and immediately made a statement about the more people he killed today, the better it would feel. There was no discussion or conversation prior to Hale’s violent statements, he literally walked in and announced he wanted to kill people that day. While Schemer understands current policy forbids clandestine recording of co-workers, she felt it necessary to record his statements due to their violent nature, therefore she hit the record button on her iPhone. Schemer went on to describe Hale’s continued
Reading Assignment #6 1. In order to keep top performers satisfied and productive, Steve Bates argues, there should be a substantial difference in the variable pay or merit- based salary increases that top performers and poor performers receive. Based on available research the increase needed to catch “anybody’s attention” should be a seven percent or eight percent increase in compensation. It also states that anything below that might be welcomed, but will not lead to substantially greater effort on the part of employees to increase business results.
I know the importance of communication and these communication skills can be translated in everyday life because when working with others everyone needs to communicate to ensure every task is being completed successfully. I have learned how to cooperate with a diverse group of people, no matter the circumstance. This has equipped me for life inside and outside ringette as I know how to be professional and civil with everyone that I encounter. In line with this, I have learned how to keep calm and controlled in frustrating situations. Self-discipline and good sportsmanship can be very beneficial to ensure one stays classy without showing weakness to others.
Communication is important in interpersonal relationship. Do not judge a book by its cover. People hate Smith because he is a hangman, but Smith is a kindhearted man, and he trusts people easily. “On the palm, white even against its frozen whiteness, was a little smear of

Personal Journal Assignment: Entry 11 Even though I do not like communicating in groups that much as I have mentioned in my previous journal entry, I have a strong fascination with watching other people work in groups and teams. Ever since I was young, my favorite TV shows would involve reality TV. I know a lot of people cannot tolerate watching the absurdities of these types of shows. I understand their view, but I have always enjoyed watching how the people interact with one another and what they think of each other versus their actions towards one another.

I found the lecture by Scott Rouse on body language extremely beneficial to my business and everyday life. I was impactful that the elements that were shared were based on evidence and fact based. Also, Rouse disputed some of the bad intel that previously has been published. Nevertheless, in was an impactful start of the lecture to know how we should let go of the body language Frankenstein that often exists in our mind (Rouse, 2015).
The perception of others towards yourself is often misconstrued because it is opinionated based on how they view you. It is good to lead by example and be consistent which will establish a baseline for your behavior, characteristics, and perception from others. If any leader does not
This is one reason I believe that we got great grades on our group RATs. Another skill that is strongly shown through when we would take our RATs, was the skill to not hesitate in asking justification for another’s answers. We would all take into consideration what the better answer would be and agree as a team on what we thought would be the best

Relationship building is an important part of working in a social environment, it is especially important when working in a team. This means all social interactions are determined by the relationship of the people involved. First impressions are very important in interactions and subsequent relationships. A positive first impression involves good communication; open body language (to show you are listening and giving that person your full attention), making sure you are positive and happy. When speaking you should consider the other person (vocabulary should be appropriate to audience), if you are speaking to a smaller child then you would maybe make yourself smaller so that you are on the same level.
Also, conversationalists can use different body language and facial expressions to make the other participant smile or laugh. Body language, posture, and distance provide important information to supplement words or a verbal discussion. They are a crucial addition to the overall message. The full picture also includes facial expressions, eye contact, and voice (study.com). Some prefer this form because most want to know the other person’s thoughts and reactions right away.
The behavioral skills such as conversation skills and prosocial behavior are examples of social behavioral. An individual’s behavioral skills may affect his or her social competence. In step five and six the social information processing model (Crick, N. R., & Dodge, K.
