After reading this, the reader could tell that they are using irony to run their society. War is Peace, means that in their society, keeping the people believe that constant war is actually a way of maintaining peace, and if there is constant war, then the people of this society are constantly giving, sacrificing, and pledging devotion to their government, which ends up giving the government more power. This PSA was created by the National Wildlife Fund to raise awareness about global warming and how they believe that it is bad. Since they are against global warming and the melting ice caps they want to convince people to follow the same stance. To bring this message forward they use a variety of rhetorical devices including the clear use of the loaded word. They main quote that makes sense of the PSA and ties it together is “When the ice caps melt, so will he.” The use of loaded words such as “Melt” and “He” leave marks in human emotion as humans tend to remember words and not points meaning that once the viewer is gone they can remember that PSA as they just remember the point.

• The Rhetorical Tool that I choose on page 229 on my textbook is “Appeal to Value”; however, “Appeal to Need” would work to on my persuasive essay too. The results is that “Appeal to Value” I can express with my own support with sympathy, mercy, etc… in another words I can have the power or the ability to attract, interest, amuse, or stimulate the mind or emotions or the readers, because my persuasive essay will talk about precise meanings or important topics that the reader will like to know what is going on; in the other hand, I understand that we need to choose one rhetorical tool, but I think that “Appeal to Need” is another way to persuasive the readers on the need and the urgent of this matter; for example, the urgent and the obligation

As an American, and a human service professional, my primary job is to address the hypocrisy and moral corruption and confliction of those individuals and systems who solely convey America’s constitutional banner, but neglects its moral practicality. Americans think that by making everyone equal, constitutively and legislatively, we would effortlessly develop a moral society. Morality assumes that people have advantages over others such physical wellness, as skin-pigmentation, sexual identification, autonomy from mental illness and it dictates that we do not take advantage of those who are disadvantaged. Systems and society at large should not use our differences to justify the unjustifiable: inhumanly treatment and exclusion of other humans.

My second project was the rhetorical analysis which weighted 45% of my grade. For my second project, I have to pick a reliable and unreliable source that relates to Kennedy’s assassination conspiracy theories. I have to make 3 separate papers for a reliable source, unreliable source, and comparison of two sources that would be presented in class. This project was a great learning experience because I get to learn and identify the differences between reliable and unreliable sources. From this project, I really struggled with finding the right unreliable source because it was harder to find on the search results.

Writing instructors and many other professionals who study language use the phrase “rhetorical situation.” This term refers to any set of circumstances that involves at least one person using some sort of communication to modify the perspective of at least one other person. But many people are unfamiliar with the word “rhetoric.” For many people, “rhetoric” may imply speech that is simply persuasive. For others, “rhetoric” may imply something more negative like “trickery” or even “lying.”

Over the decades, the topic of the environment has always ended in endless arguments and debates. In Edward O. Wilson’s book The Future of Life, he satirizes two passages about stereotypes of environmentalists and people first critics. Using rhetorical questions, ad hominems, Irony, and logos, Wilson illustrates the unproductive manner of environmentalists. Using ad hominems, both passages mock each other. “Environmental wackos” frustrate Wilson because the environmentalists think they have control over the county.

In “A Raisin in the Sun” by Lorraine Hansberry, the author uses diction like abstract diction and details by explaining what he exactly wants in life to demonstrate Walter and his dream. To begin, Hansberry uses diction to demonstrate Walter and his dream by using abstract diction. She does this by explaining how he will give Travis anything for his seventeenth birthday and that he will “hand you the world!” (2.2). This shows that he wants to make his sons life as good as possible.

Rhetorical Analysis: Race and Society Race in society has been an extremely controversial topic for many years. Racial tensions were high in the past because of that people's feelings and beliefs have been passed down causing racial tensions to continue into today. A white officer can't even defend himself against someone of a different race because they will get nation wide attention for it. Prejudice still exists today causing people to feeling uncomfortable around different racial groups. Today many people believe that racial differences have made many strides to bettering society but others believe that much more work needs to be done.

In her essay, “I Had a Nice Time with you Tonight, on the app,” Jenna Wortham believes that social media apps are a helpful way to connect. Wortham swears by apps and is grateful that she can communicate with her boyfriend who is three thousand miles away. Yet some may challenge the view that Social Media apps are a reliable and effective method of communicating, Sherry Turkle stresses people are substituting online communication for face-to-face interaction. Although Turkle may only seem of concern to only a small group of people, it should in fact concern anyone who cares about the negative effects social media can have on people. In her eyes, nothing can replace person-to-person communication.

Good Afternoon Dr. Esper & Dr. Khan, I am working with Sarah and Amy to help establish the EP12 Neurology Resident clinic. If possible, I would like to set up a meeting with Sarah, Greg and Jaffar to discuss key operational metrics and logistical needs for the clinic. Would everyone be available to meet on Tuesday, Dec 29th or Wednesday, Dec 30th? With the holidays, it might be difficult to coordinate a 60min meeting. Prince Ea’s video titled “Dear Future Generations: Sorry” portrays the possible future faced by future generations if people don’t take responsibility for environmental issues that mankind has caused. Humankind must apologize for leaving the Earth an eyesore for the generations to come because they gave themselves reasons to not act. The descendents of the people of today will be forced to live without tree, for the reason that people of today didn’t realize how extraordinary the Earth was. Trees did a great deal such as, provide oxygen, fight against human ailments and contamination, but they were cut down so humans could obtain money. Unlike the Native Americans who took care of the planet for their children’s children, humans now aren’t thinking about
