I feel like white feminist groups will never understand where we are coming from no matter how much they try to understand they will never fully get it. From her own family she’s being oppressed by her size to the point were her own father took her to an appointment to talk to doctor about liposuction. Being a woman you were constantly scrutinized by the way you look or if you’re not acting like a lady. I feel like being a women nowadays is getting worse and worse because people feel like they can have an opinion on your body. Women nowadays trying to look a certain way not just for themselves but because society tells us that’s what’s beautiful. Roxane feels a sense of empowerment or security in her week due to her sexual assault. She feels like if she gains more weight that she will be undesirable and won’t be touched because of the way she looks.”” She felt my comfort from food family because she felt like she couldn’t talk to them about her struggles. The shift in her life came after she was gang raped by a teenage boy and his friends. She went from being a happy kid that’s rounded by loved ones to being timid and Relying on food to comfort her.
