Some historians would argue that the profits made from WWI were the most beneficial in improving the American economy, however there were also many other features that influenced the boom in the American economy, such as republican policies, agriculture and natural resources, as well as technological advances. All of these factors ultimately led to the economic boom, but which was the most significant? WW1 had a strong impact on the American Economy.

The late 1800s marked the start of the Industrial Revolution for the United States. Prior to the rapid industrialization, people lived in rural communities and manufacturing was done largely by local craftsmen. After the Civil War, certain needs were emphasized such as the need for faster production, transportation, and better communication. All of these needs were met by the Industrial Revolution due to technological advancements. These advancements had great effects on the structure of cities at the time.

To say the time period following the Civil War in the United States involved a lot of change would be a understatement. Between the years 1870 and 1900 the people of the United States lived through a period of great change. Not only did they witness technological advances that would change their daily lives, they also saw new laws and organizations formed. All of this was done in hopes of improving the country. Many of these changes came about because of the type of businesses that were formed.

America was left with an enormous problem after the civil war, thousands of unskilled people. But, through strategic decisions this would lead to tremendous industrial growth. Industrialization grew rapidly during the period of 1860-1900 as a result of a verity of factors .Technological advancements, monopolies, and political assistance would all contribute in making America one of the leading global powers.

Industrialization was a positive aspect on American Society after the Civil War. The new technology and inventions resulted in the evolution of industry and transformed the country from an agricultural to a developed nation. Industrialization influenced the lives of Americans , bringing forward composite social and economic changes. The great inventions created as a result of industrialization included the electric lights, telephones, and the phonograph.

One of the aspects of industrialization between 1865 and 1920 that shaped the American society and economy is the prosperous development of the middle-class development. The middle-class people were able to shift from rural to urban areas. They focused on the newer jobs in the factories and urbanization growth (Franklin, 2012). The other aspect of industrialization that shaped American's society, politics and economy is the growth of urbanization. It led to development of workforce that enabled women to work.

The War Between the States was one of America’s greatest wars—it was the fight for freedom, but it also impacted the economy. Because of this, America’s labor and transportation systems both took a significant turn during the Civil War, impacting America’s economy forever. In the end, the American Civil War greatly benefitted our transportation system, but devastated the South’s labor force. For a war to be fought strategically well, there first must be a form of simple, yet speedy, transportation. That is where the transcontinental railroad came in.

Was Mark Twain correct in calling the Gilded age? “Even though the era following the Reconstruction was one of the great invention and economic growth, all did not share in that prosperity.” For example according to Introduction to American History in 1860’s and 1900’s the millage of railroads increased from a 30,000 miles to a 193,000 mileage. One million to ten millions and the number of workers from 1.3 million to 5.3 million.

The railroad brought a lot more people, so place was being taken up, but the good thing is that the farmers have to depend alot on the the railroad, cause the railroad is the only thing that brings the seed for their crops, and new gadgets to use for their

The three major aspects of industrialization during the 1865 and 1920 that influenced the politics, economy and society of the United States are: entrepreneurship, technology, as well as transport and communication network. Without a doubt, industrialization was one of the biggest factors in how the United States developed. It gave us the means of mass production, better transportation, and eventually the consumerist society that the United States is today. Industrialization did drastically change American society, but did it change America for the better? Did it do more good than bad? While industrialization did lead to multiple social and economic problems, the advantages significantly outweigh the disadvantages.

Entrepreneurs saw this type of rapid growth and lack of regulation as an opportunity to make an enormous amount of money. Some of the biggest monopolies in the railroad industry were created and all those less fortunate suffered at the hands of these businessmen and politicians. Some would argue that during the period following the Civil War, it was very prosperous for the American farmer as the nation saw a huge increase in agricultural growth.
