Introduction:
The Advanced Data Transmission Corporation (ADTC) operate in the industry of satellite data transmissions and the corporation has been awarded an agreement to launch a space corporation. As such, the organization will manage all satellite data transmission from its interplanetary corporation and third world nations will accommodate subsidiaries for the parent company. Additionally, the company would manage all resources of the interplanetary corporation in the most efficient manner and allocation of resources would be accomplished considering that resources are limited and the utilization and distribution of resources would produce the soundest possible consequence and will maximize the stockholder values.
However, as a Chief

The appropriate action is the one which maximizes happiness as opposed to suffering and anguish. Utilitarian’s have an extremely straightforward answer to the question of whose happiness is the object of maximization. According to utilitarianism, leaders should consider the happiness of the whole, where this incorporates not solely group members, however members of the external group as well. Indeed, the moral concern of contemporary utilitarian’s typically extends to all sentient beings; whereas, the morally acceptable action is the action which maximizes overall utility, which can occasionally cause a decrease in utility for leaders and followers. Therefore, in accordance with my opinion, this venture of ADTC in interstellar has or will have a significant impact to the world in general and it becomes a great responsibility for ADTC that we investigate a greater utility for mankind …show more content…
Practically all their concerns are concentrated on the code adversely impacting the overheads their companies are already confronting. These expenditures, not only include hard dollar outlays, however additionally expenses measured in time, such as, postponements in enacting a business plan objective or executing an operation in support of more organization, specifically long-range planning. Furthermore, this community of businesspersons are accustomed to associating corporate behavior codes with increased regulatory expenditures and liabilities, all of which produce little or no actual benefit for the corporation. As has been articulated numerous times, maybe a large corporation like General Motors can sustain these outlays, however for a start-up undertaking a commercial mission to the interstellar space or developing a contemporary space transportation vehicle, such regulatory expenditures and liabilities are destructive. Accordingly, while a code of ethics may seem well intentioned, unless it is demonstrated that the code will not be financially or otherwise oppressive or destructive for the interstellar space industry, many businesspersons will not be
By implementing a comprehensive code of conduct, Porter Airlines demonstrates its commitment to ethical business practices
The utilitarian approach suggests that one choose the outcome that would do less overall harm and, therefore, do more good (Meyer et al. 276). When applying this particular method of approach to this situation, the ethical decision to be made would be

Planning is transforming socially, but to achieve change it has to bring together, politicians, planners, and residents (Sandercock, 2004). Citizen’s opinions and rights should be taken into consideration. It is the number one rule in the planning process for participants. It says, “recognize the rights of citizens to participate in planning decisions” (Ethical, n.d.). Cities cannot progress unless they change their ways of doing things.
Utilitarianism is an ethical theory that focuses on outcomes and consequences. When one considers the theory of utilitarianism, it must be understood that the pleasure is a fundamental moral good and the aim is to maximize pleasure and minimize pain. So, when a human is going through the decision making process it is of the utmost importance to look forward at the consequences of the decision and determine if the decision will maximize pleasure and minimize pain. John Stuart Mill, a nineteenth century philosopher focused on the theory of utilitarianism or the Greatest Happiness Principle and claimed that the maximization of happiness for the greatest quantity of people is the ultimate goal. One issue that we face in modern day America that
1. Introduction – ethics – what are they? Ethics (or moral philosophy) is the kind of philosophy that define concept of right or wrong conduct. In practice, ethics try to resolve questions of human morality, by explaining concepts of good and evil. Ethics, culture, morals – are bind together, they are embedded.
Under the moral theory of act utilitarianism, I will argue that the elements that define it as a moral theory, do not always hold up as a strong theory in its totality when we critically analyse it. I will also point out a few hypothetical situations and possible consequences when implementation of act utilitarianism is followed through. The consequences will be proven to have the potential to undo the utility of happiness for our loved family members, in order to care for strangers we do not have a connection with, which in my opinion is highly immoral. According to lecture notes ( Weijers & Munn 2016)
Utilitarianism is the moral theory that the action that people should take it the one that provides the greatest utility. In this paper I intend to argue that utilitarianism is generally untenable because act and rule utilitarianism both have objections that prove they cannot fully provide the sure answer on how to make moral decisions and what will be the ultimate outcome. I intend to do this by defining the argument for act and rule utilitarianism, giving an example, presenting the objections to act and rule utilitarianism and proving that utilitarianism is untenable. Both act and rule utilitarianism attempt to argue that what is right or wrong can be proven by what morally increases the well being of people. Act utilitarianism argues that
Commonly, ethical systems are categorized into two major systems. The deontological approaches or normative ethical position which judges an action based on the adherence of the action to certain rules and the teleological approaches which judges primarily based on the consequences of an action (Hare, 1964). The Utilitarianism is assigned to the teleological approaches, as it does not evaluate an action by itself but by it’s
Introduction In this extended essay, I will try to answer the research question “To what extent is Corporate Social Responsibility part of Arm Makers Companies? An assessment and evaluation of Raytheon’s and Northrop Grumman’s Business ethics”. Weapon companies face the issue of being socially responsible as it is a global matter. I will be mainly focusing on two companies; Raytheon and Northrop Grumman.
The main principle of utilitarianism is happiness. People who follow this theory strive to fulfill the “ultimate good”. The “ultimate good” is defined as ultimate pleasure with out any pain. It is said that the pleasure can be of any quantity and any quality, but pleasures that are weighted more important are put at a higher level than others that are below it. This ethical theory also states that if society would fully embrace utilitarianism then people would naturally realize their moral standing in the
However, this is much more complex than the seemingly practical to use act utilitarianism. Assigning different ‘levels’ to different pleasures and pains can take up a considerable amount of time, when sometimes a quick decision is necessary. Furthermore, with both act and rule utilitarianism, the pleasure and pain of every potential situation must be calculated to decide the most moral course of action. However, it is impossible for one person, or even a group of people, to perfectly calculate every potential outcome – many situations will have extremely different consequences to what was originally predicted. Moreover, especially in larger companies, it is hard to measure far-reaching
This statement is supported by Bennett (2014) wherein ethics clearly defines what is the right and wrong things and shapes what kind of behavior the business should act on. For the sense of business according to Joseph (2013), ethics are constructed and decided by each business and underpins decision that an employee makes. When it comes to the business’ environment, a well-constructed ethics is a key for a considerate and responsible decision making in a business (Bennett, 2014). Business Ethics is very important inside the company, it will show the moral standards that a company or business have whether it is right or wrong and good or bad.
Conclusion: There is value to having a professional code, but not all people follow them for the right reason. Premise 1: Companies want to make money. Justification: Companies write a well written code of ethics for their employees to follow, but this code is only as good as the people who write it.
