Jimi Hendrix Major Accomplishments

Les Paul was an American Musician and inventor who was credited with the creation of the solid body electric guitar. Paul was born in Waukesha Wisconsin and learned to play three instruments by the age of thirteen. Amazed by the radio and inspired by artists heard on it young Paul was determined to be the one playing to the listeners. He dropped out of high school to play on some local radio stations and then move to New York to perform in his trio. Aspiring to be the best musician he then moved to California to play as Bing Crosby’s guitarist, a goal he eventually achieved.

Charles never let him being blind be a problem with his music. He has accomplished receiving twenty-seven grammys. He received a National Medal of Art by president Clinton, and being inducted in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. In Charles early life he lost his sight to see at age seven.

Enrique Martín Morales, more commonly known as Ricky Martin, is a Puerto Rican international superstar. He is a singer and actor. Martin began his singing career at age twelve when he joined a Latin boy pop group named Menudo. He later went on to become a solo artist. He has starred in Mexican and American soap operas.

Jimmy Page is the greatest musician of all time and remains unmatched by any contemporary artist. Many people claim he isn’t as good as others but, when dealing with his epic guitar skills, Jimmy is hands down the best. He developed and led on of the best groups of all time with highly talented members. Using his guitar skills and the skills of the people that he brought in to be musicians, Jimmy is unarguably a great musician which is undoubtedly why he was inducted into the hall of fame twice. First of all, Jimmy Page created a supergroup with musicians; Robert Plant (Lead Singer), John Bonham (Drummer), and John Paul Jones (Bassist).

Through out 1965 and 1966 Jimi played with smaller bands, even taking playing back up guitar for what would be lead guitarists to play. It wasn’t until July 1966 that Jimi caught the ear of The Animal’s bassist Chas Chandler. He was quickly impressed and soon returned to sign Jimi to a recording contract. The contract would require Jimi to move to London in order to form a new band, The Jimi Hendrix

Jimi then got around LIttle Richard and joined together and toured around, even recorded some music together. It wasn’t until 1965 when Jimi started becoming big in the music industry. Around that time he formed the band Jimmy James and the Blue Flames and he performed around village coffee houses and nightclubs. Some months went by and his reputation as a phenomenal guitarist began to come into light. Jimi had caught the eye of Linda Keith, which was the girlfriend of the rockstar Keith Richards.

In the 1960, he received Hollywood Walk of Fame upon his work in the recording industry, in the year 1966 he received Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award, in the year 1969 he received the Presidential Medal of Freedom which is the highest ranked civilian award in the US, in 1971 he received honorary Doctorate degree from Berklee College of Music, in the year 1973 he received highest civilian honor of France i.e. Legion of Honor, and in 1999 after his death in 1974 he was given special Pulitzer Prize I recognition of his lifetime work and contribution to music and culture. With this band he was best known for turning a Fender Stratocaster upside down, and playing amazingly. His very first single “Hey Joe” reached number six on the top charts of the U.K. in 1967. A while after that he wrote the rocking song “Purple Haze,” and then made the album “Are You Experienced,” which was his double platinum first album. His three main albums were called “Axis”, “Bold as Love”, “Electric Ladyland,” “Are You Experienced.”

For many, it’s impossible to imagine a world where Jimi isn’t a member of royalty in the guitarist Hall of Fame. But where was Jimi before Purple Haze and Hey Joe? When did his reign begin? Why was it cut so short? Johnny Allen Hendrix was born on November 27, 1942, in Seattle, Washington as the first, and oldest brother of five children.

Miles Davis lived a very eventful life full of ups and down. He knew from a young age what he wanted to do in life and he set about doing it. Despite his heroin addiction, he was still able to create and put out great music that will inspire generations of future musicians to create masterpieces. Davis received a Lifetime achievement award in 1990. In 1991, at the Montreux Jazz festival, he performed numerous records, from early in his career, with Quincy Jones With all the success, his life was not all the way perfect.

Louis Armstrong was a legendary jazz icon who learned to master the trumpet and gained massive success across different decades. Louis Armstrong was a composer, trumpeter, singer, and even an actor. Armstrong was known beyond the jazz community, and into the more known popular music. Armstrong came from a very poor neighborhood and basically grew up without his parents. Armstrong’s financial situation did not stop him from having long life dreams of emerging in the music industry.

Jimi Hendrix, born as James Marshall Hendrix is honored as one of the most talented guitarist of all time. Despite his mind wandering within a psychedelic realm, and his body being lost in marijuana haze everywhere; Jimi Hendrix was one of the most influential cultural icons of the sixties. Jimi Hendrix struck a global chord throughout his mere four year career, from 1966 to his death in 1970. Much attention was magnified on his profound transformation of guitar-soloing. A musician that never learned to read music redefined the sonic palette of the electric guitar.

An accordion, along with banjo-sexto, are the instruments used most predominantly in the genre conjunto. The Germans and Bohemian settlers first introduced the accordion to Mexicana’s in the mid to late 1800’s while working construction building, “factories, mines, and railroads in Northern Mexico. The accordion was favored for its availability, low cost, and portability” (Sewell, 2014). Conjunto is referred to as “group” music initiated in the bars and cantinas of the US/Mexican border, and was derived of Mexican norteño style. Later, the conjunto style of music word transform into a more developed Tex-Mex or Tejano genre.
