Joseph Deangelo: The Golden State Killer

He dropped out of school in third grade then ran away from home. After running away he spent his young adult life in and out of jail for minor crimes. His arrest were mostly small theft crimes. Just about every time he got locked up, he managed to break out of jail or prison.

As children, him and his siblings were severely neglected. They were often fed and clothed by neighbors. Sometimes, they were placed in the care of their grandfather, who was a convicted child molester. After a while, their mother sent them to live in an orphanage.

He explains his killings as strictly business. Some of them are debatable, but most of them are business. In my opinion he would not be classified as a serial killer. He just did a different kind of business that is illegal, but he had no remorse for his killings. He definitely knew exactly what he was doing, he did his killings to make a living for his family.

By late 1979, the Golden State Killer, now known as Joseph DeAngelo, was targeting people in southern California. He continued to rape female victims, then brutally murdered them and their male partners (if present). Ten people (four heterosexual couples and two individual women) were killed by the Golden State Killer in Santa Barbaras, Ventura and Orange Counties between 1979 and 1986. Since the burglaries, rapes, and murders were spread out geographically, authorities attributed the varying crime sprees to different people.

While still primarily residing in Auburn, he began traveling to the Los Angeles area in order to commit a new wave of crimes, almost all of which would entail homicide. On October 1, 1979, DeAngelo made his first journey to Southern California, but his victims had left, so he had to leave empty-handed. On December 30, he committed his first Original Night Stalker murders, murdering a doctor and his wife. After hiding for the next four months, he murdered a young couple in an urban neighborhood of Los Angeles on August 19.

During the times of 1972 to 1978, John Wayne Gacy Jr. killed 33 people in the Chicago area. He was known for raping, torturing, then strangling his victims (SC4). Then he would dispose of the bodies by either dumping them into a river or hiding them beneath his house. He wasn't caught until after the murder of his final victim in 1978. Then he became one of the most famous serial killers in American history.

As a young kid he joined the Persian Warriors, a San Francisco street gang and was jailed at the San Francisco Youth Guidance Center in 1962. He also “Played football at Galileo High School in San Francisco”(AAREG). He played offense and defense, he was named to the Junior College All-American team as running back. These early football achievements helped boost him in track and field, he exceeded by winning almost all of his races and relays. His parents also got separated when he was very young which took a toll on him in a way, resulting in him joining all the gangs he participated

DeAngelo is suspected of being responsible for at least twelve (12) killings and fifty (50) rapes during this time period. He targeted women between the ages of 13-41 by sneaking into their homes as they slept.

He sexually assaulted, tortured, and killed his young victims. Before diving deeper into why this killer clown committed such horrific crimes, it's important to discuss his upbringing.

There have been millions of serial killers who are homosexual, but has someone ever wondered about their reason for killing? Many have different reasons finical gain, jealousy, or even hatred for a specific group, even themselves. John Wayne Gacy killed 33 young men and boys due to his abusive childhood, his relationship with his father, the ostracization he went through as a child, and the raging homophobia he grew up with.

John Wayne Gacy is a serial killer who killed 33 people in total. He was born on May 17th 1942 in Chicago where he was physically and verbally abused by his father. Since this age he showed unusual behaviours and avoiding society, but then was determined that he has a psychological disorder. He moved to Los Angeles and was living a normal life however he started showing his real face in 1968 where he raped a young, male employee.

Jeffrey Dahmer has become a household name. Dahmer was a serial killer, famously known as the “Milwaukee Cannibal”, he murdered seventeen victims, with his crimes ranging from 1978-1991. Dahmer is known for targeting boys and men, dismembering them, and sometimes eating his victims. There are multiple movies, books, and tv shows about Dahmer and his psychopathic behaviors. Dahmer exhibited many types of psychopathic behavior during the span of his crimes.

Before Ronald Dominique was labeled as a serial killer, he had been in trouble with the law. His charges consisted of forcible rape, telephone harassment, and disturbing the peace. When Ronald Dominique went jail on these accounts, he was tied up and brutally raped. Researcher believed that the way Ronald was raped in jail created the method he would use on his victims.
