Christianity and Judaism are similar and different in many ways. Christianity has a close relationship with Judaism, both historically and theologically. Jesus’ family followed Jewish customs and Jesus frequently quoted the Hebrew Bible. Judaism also teaches that the purpose of Torah is to teach how to act correctly. Some also believe that the Torah is commanding the Jews to believe in God. Christians teach that God also wants you to perform good works, but that alone is not enough to lead to salvation. Many Jewish scholars and theologians, understands Judaism as a religion of love, says Bloom. It says that he argues that one can understand the Hebrew concept of love only by looking at one of the core commandments of Judaism, Leviticus 19:18, “Love your neighbor as yourself”. ( Jewish theology of love and Great Commandment) For Martin Buber, Judaism and Christianity were variations on the same theme of messianism. Buber made this theme the basis of a famous definition of the tension between Judaism and Christianity: Pre-messianically, our destinies are divided. Now to the Christian, the Jew is the incomprehensibly obdurate man who declines to see what has happened; and to the Jew, the Christian is the incomprehensibly daring man who affirms in an unredeemed world that its redemption has been accomplished. This is a gulf which no human power can bridge. [42]

In Judea, around 30 A.D., Jesus of Nazareth, a man whom many Jews believed to be the messiah, preached about the gospel. This composed an incipient religion, Christianity. Christianity took hold in the antediluvian world expeditiously. Some reasons that it took hold in the archaic world expeditiously was because it edified about sempiternal life. It additionally took hold because of their notions and their notion that everyone was identically tantamount.

Anyone who is even slightly familiar with both Greek mythology and Christianity can clearly see the many differences between the two. It almost seems like an oxymoron that a monotheistic religion and a polytheistic religion would have similar storylines. However, when one looks at the core themes of the stories, the similarities jump out. Although they may seem worlds apart, Christianity and Greek Mythology have similarities among their stories. One prominent example comes from the stories of the creation of man.

Judaism is one of the oldest religions in the world. Over the years, Judaism has evolved into many different denominations. This separation between Jews is mostly because of their different interpretations of the scriptures. These different denominations range from extremely orthodox and traditional to very liberal and flexible. Orthodox Judaism is as true to the traditional Judaism as it gets.
Christianity and Islam are the two largest religions in the world, with 2.1 Billion and 1.3 Billion followers respectively. Each had their own rise, golden age, and eventual large-scale split. However, each religion spread in different regions of the world in different ways and developed their own traditions and structures. Christianity and Islam have similarities such as a large-scale split and a history of spreading through popular trade routes, while simultaneously having many differences such as where the two religions spread, the methods in which they spread, and the structure of their religious leaderships. One of the primary differences between the spread of Islam and Christianity is the directions in which they spread.

They shared the same Ten Commandments; Torah for the Jews and the Old Testaments for the Christians. Even though they are common in many different ways, they are also very different. Their marriage rites, rituals and the meaning of life are different.
Also in Christianity, the story of Adam and Eve is synonymous with sin. In 1099 a considerable conflict occurred to drive a wedge between the religions. The event was the Crusades, and it resulted in the slaughter of a majority of the inhabitants and the seizing of Jerusalem. Islam and Christianity share the similar value of being monotheistic and worshipping a single God.
