Shoe Horn Sonata and Saving Private Ryan were set in the same context of World War 2. John Misto’s Shoe Horn Sonata takes place during the war against Japan, the play focus on the lives of two women Bridie and Sheila who have been captured by the Japanese to become (POW) prisoners of war. John Misto’s play was based on real accounts from POWs, the play was to commemorate the female POWS who story was unheard of and to give an insight to the audience into what the POWs had to endure while under the japanese rule.

Sonia Sotomayor had to work twice as hard for everything that she had, because she was convinced most of her life that she was not good enough. But her intellect, discipline, and determination are what makes her story so unique and relatable to most. In the book she talks a lot about her family, and how they play a big role on who she is as a judge. On Friday, September 11 in the Nightingale Concert Hall, a fabulously performed concert called the Argenta Concert Series, The Fifth Anniversary Season, directed by Dmitri Atapine and Hyeyeon Park, took place. In this performance the following musicians performed; Stephanie Sant’Ambrogio on the violin, Dustin Budish on the viola, and James Winn on the piano. Not only that, there was also a guest appearance by Jonah Kim on the cello. Although not the best turnout, there was still a decent audience.

Paul Dooley and Winnie Holzman’s Post-its (Notes on a Marriage) is an accurate representation of how fast life actually goes by once one becomes an adult. The play begins with two maturing adults, Actor and Actress, in the beginning stages of a dating relationship, and they quickly develop into a dysfunctional family of three. The scenes then progress to a renewed relationship between Actor and Actress, and as time goes on, one proceeds to witness Actor, Actress, and Eugenia grow and mature. While one reads the play, one sees that Actor and Actress’s relationship takes time and communication for them to grow together.
