The classic book Flowers for Algernon, which was written by Daniel Keyes in the late 1900’s, explains the story about a middle-aged man named Charlie Gordon and the struggles he faces from having a mental disability. Charlie Gordon worked at Donnegon’s Box Company, but while working there, he was made fun of and called stupid for something he can’t control. Charlie had a wish for all people to love and accept him, but couldn’t understand that there is always going to be someone that wouldn’t like him which made him feel unwanted and unappreciated. Throughout Flowers for Algernon, Daniel Keyes develops a theme of self-acceptance to explain how people shouldn’t change themselves to fit in with others.

But Norby the robot turns out to have far many more special powers than most robots he has come across. Ray Bradbury’s short story “The Veldt” teaches readers that too much technology can have a bad effect on people. In the story, the Hadley family lives in a Happylife Home which has machines that do pretty much everything for them. The machines make their meals, brush their teeth and tie their shoelaces. There is even a nursery for the children that creates any world they could imagine. In the end of the story, the nursery and the family take a turn for the worse.

It taught me that strength and perseverance can make a significant impact in life. I also learned that forgiveness and the ability to forgive is much more powerful than I ever realized. This novel sucked me into the story and its characters and took me on an emotional ride of highs and lows. Finally, it forced me to reevaluate my previous judgement of the homeless.

Accepting people for who they are might be difficult, but the least we could do is try to understand them. In the “Stop the Sun” by Gary Paulsen this is shown to us through the character of Terry Erickson. Terry is a thirteen year old boy whose father has Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Terry 's father had fought in the Vietnam War and the PTSD he has causes him to have flashbacks of the war. Terry Struggles to find out the cause of his father’s disorder, therefore he is unable to accept him.

1. Analysis The novel, Wonder by R.J. Palacio, delivers many obstacles overcome by the young protagonist, Auggie. Many themes can be found in this novel, but the most prominent is the power of how family and friendship help Auggie adjust to new situations. Palacio presented Auggie with a frightening new situation for any homeschooled student, let alone anyone with a prominent facial difference.

There are a variety of different types of robotic machines, great majority of them appear in factories and in science technology work fields. Robots in factories help replace a dangerous parts of a job. However, there have been different perspective with robots replacing jobs.
