Elie Wiesel and Anne Frank both lived through the Holocaust. Elie spent most of this time in Auschwitz, Poland and Anne spent most of her time in Bergen-Belson, Germany. Although they both had different experiences, it is obvious they both endured many hardships; however both Wiesel and Frank lived through life and death circumstances. But their lives ended so differently.
Elie Wiesel’s life during the Holocaust was devastating, for example the passage states “he was starved and badly treated”, “both his parents and younger sister were killed during the Holocaust”. Anne Frank Born 06/12/1929 in Germany, on January 30, 1933 Anne and her family were forced to move to the Netherlands. This was because it was no longer safe in Germany for her Jewish family, the Netherlands was a safer place for the Jews. Anne’s father later said” Though it did hurt me deeply, I realized Germany was not the world, and I left my country forever.” But on September 1, 1939 the Nazi invaded the Netherlands. Anne and her family were mistreated and all because they were Jewish. It became hard for Anne, she was put into a segregated Jewish school, her father even had to give up his title in his business. On June 12, 1942 Anne got a diary for her birthday, this will later be the reason we know Anne Frank’s story. On July 5, 1942 Anne’s family were forced into hiding; it was no longer safe for their family to live in the outside world. She wrote in her diary “ The world will keep turning without me, and I can’t do anything to change events anyway.” The family spent two years in hiding, it wasn't till August 4, 1944 that the family was found by the police, they arrested everyone in hiding. They had been betrayed by an anonymous tip, the person still remains unknown to this day. According to the Washington Post, Elie was fifteen when he was captured and sent to Auschwitz on a cattle cart along with his father, mother, and three sisters and sent to Auschwitz.
Anne Frank was a young Jewish girl living in Amsterdam during the occupation by the Nazis. She was forced to go into hiding above her father's work for two years to avoid prison. During her time in hiding, she kept a diary and wrote about her experience. Frank writes about her loving and compassionate family and also mentions how she has built new relationships with the other families in the house. In her diaries, Frank frequently emphasizes the value of family, emphasizing how her trials were made easier by the presence of those she loved who understood what she was going through.
Thirteen year old Anne Frank with sweat rolling down her face did her best to keep up with her parents. It was early in the morning and her family was pretending to go for a stroll, when in fact they were going into hiding from the Nazi's. She knew this was a live or die matter. Anne was a young German Jewish girl who hid with her family in Nazi Germany and showed extreme bravery in the face of adversity. When Anne was thirteen, her parents decided it was time to move when Adolf Hitler began sending Jewish people to concentration camps. They lived in hiding for over two years until they were caught and sent to camps where Anne died before her 17th birthday due to Typhus fever.
Anne Frank went into hiding in July of 1942 to escape the Nazis who were lead by Adolf Hitler. Anne Frank and her family were concealed in a secret annex for two years with only one other family, the Daans. Life for Anne Frank before she went into hiding she lived a normal oblivious life, she had friends, and was liked by boys. The day her mother got a letter to report to a work camp, her life changed completely. I don’t think it is very easy to compare our lives with someone like Anne Franks.
Annelies Marie "Anne" Frank was a 15-year-old girl who when into hiding from the Nazi’s in the Second World War. She with seven others were hiding with a German family. She kept a diary with her, documenting her life about her experiences and wishes while she was in hiding from 1942 to 1944. After two years all eight of the people in hiding were captured and deported to the Bergen-Belsen concentration where seven of them was killed in February/March 1944. During the holocaust she was kept in hiding and wrote in a journal describing her experiences through it all that would later be discovered and be the cornerstone for knowledge in this era. The diary was meant to be kept private, but once she was discovered and sent away, her journal was confiscated and kept for information. Her knowledge of the camps early on is uncovered based on her entry on October 9th 1942 where she states, “The people get almost nothing to eat, much less to drink, as water is available only one hour a day, and there’s only one toilet and sink for several thousand people. After Hitler came into power, all Jews had to be put into concentration camps to work or be killed. Anne Frank went into hiding and later got found and put into a concentration camp which sadly caused her death. Anne Frank inspired others with her Bravery to stand up to injustice and her optimistic view during bad times. Anne Frank's bravery shows by her being so strong that she went into hiding which could have gotten her killed.
It was on her 13th birthday that she got a diary. In her diary, she wrote about her friendships, crushes and her academic performance at school. Anne had an older sister named Margot, and they attended a Jewish school in Amsterdam. In this diary, the Franks moved to Netherlands from Germany because they feared prosecution. After the Germans invaded the Netherlands in 1940, the Franks, another family called the van Daans and Mr Russell hid in a small secret annex above Otto Frank’s, Anne’s father’s office.
When she was a young girl and she had a diary that she wrote in all the time. The last thing she wrote in her diary was the quote “In spite of everything I still believe that people are really good at heart. Anne lived near Amsterdam most of her life she had to move to the Netherlands with her family at the age of four when the Nazis gained control over Germany she was born in Frankfurt Germany. In May 1940 the Franks were trapped in Amsterdam by the Germans. Everyone that lived in Amsterdam in their small hiding was found in August 1944 after their arrests they were all transported to concentration camps.
The book Anne Frank: The Diary of a Young Girl is a book adapted from Anne Frank's personal journal. Anne Frank was a girl born on June 12, 1929, she was living in the Netherlands when Nazis started putting people in concentration camps, because of this the Franks had to go into hiding. During the holocaust Anne Frank had to live in a confined space so she would not be found. During that time she would have to stay positive while realizing that if she gets found she is in big trouble with the Nazis.
