Abraham Lincoln and Frederick Douglass are both powerful speakers and influential figures during their times especially during the Civil War in the 1800s. Through their powerful speeches, they spread their ideas through oratory which appealed and captivated their audience with their powerful speeches. Both Lincoln and Douglass have a different standing when concern of their social and political position in the economy, whereas one is the president of the Whig Party and President of the United State during the time of the Civil War and the other one is a runaway slave who devoted his entire life to ending slavery and the Civil Rights of so many African Americans.
