Marine Biologists: Saving the Environment One Animal at a Time
Thesis: Marine biology is a demanding job requiring working with marine animals, and having many qualifications and courses to take, as well as years of training, with many fulfilling rewards.
Generally, marine biology is the study of organisms, their relationship to the environment, and their behavior, in addition to studying the chemical aspects of bodies of saltwater ("At A Glance" & "NOAA Fisheries").
In marine biology, you do independent research and teamwork ("Job Description").
Can be based on a specific species, organism, or behavior, technique, or ecosystem ("Marine Careers").

Although there are many career choices to choose from for marine biologists, a great sample job is an aquarium director.
Educator at an aquarium - $30,000-$40,000 per year, bachelor 's degree, during this job, one teaches about the environment and concerns ("Sample Career Path").
Supervisor at an aquarium - $35,000-$45,000 per year, bachelor 's degree, management abilities (managing day to day operations), and leading educators ("Sample Career Path").
Aquarium manager - $45,000-$60,000 per year, master 's degree in biology, leadership, management abilities, and increasing administrative duties ("Sample Career Path").
Aquarium director - $60,000-$90,000 per year, master 's degree or a PhD, administrative duties, setting aquarium goals, develop programs, and organize and evaluate the aquarium ("Sample Career
During that time students are introduced to various organizations and staff members. The program offers fee waivers for students wanting to participate in the program which take care of housing and meal costs for the week. The cost per student is $300 with up to 80 new students participating for a total cost of $30,000. Additionally, $600 has been allocated for summer program materials. Finally, the budget also takes into account materials and expenses for the year round program.
I think that SeaWorld is an amazing facility. I love the fact that they rescue sea creatures from their inevitable death. I love the fact that children love to come here. I love the fact that this place causes children to subconsciously learn something. I love to bring my kids here on the weekend to watch the shows that the trainers put on with the orcas.
Almost all of the students who go to the school get a job around the surrounding areas. Tuition is about $15,000 per year including room and board. Books are also expensive. The most money comes from food and utilities. It is a fairly close college from most students who go to the college.
Oklahoma is the Heartland of America. When visiting Oklahoma for a vacation we have three great places to visit. These three places would be the highlight of any vacation, no matter the time of year a visit is planned. But do not just limit Oklahoma down to only three places worthy of visiting. This state is rich with heritage, amusement parks, and museums.
But can aquariums really make it as natural as the ocean? Taking Orcas away from their natural habitat and their family is one reason
For a career I think the best career would be an underwater welder. As an underwater welder you are not always welding underwater. I chose this career because i 've been into welding my whole life and I enjoy a dangerous job. It is important to understand the education or training requirements, skills or talents needed, salary and benefits offered, and the duties for a particular career when making this decision (“Summary”).
Many people will argue that SeaWorld trainers are performers rather than biologists, when in reality, they must now pass a certain amount of tests and examinations before coming in contact with any animal. They also only care about the fact that SeaWorld keep Orcas in captivity, but will have no problem with a zoo. This is hypocritical and unfair, as, just like zoos, SeaWorld contribute
Commercial fishing is defined as the harvesting of wild fish and other seafood for commercial profit, and provides a large quantity of food to many people around the world. In comparison to commercial fishing, aquaculture, also known as aquafarming, is the farming of aquatic organisms and populating them in controlled environments. The aquaculture industry in the United States is primarily dominated by freshwater catfish farming producing more than 1 billion dollars. Although aquaculture seems beneficial, it has many negative impacts on the environment that are threatening the marine ecosystem. Marine aquaculture is the farming of seafood species that are indigenous to the ocean.
Some other degrees are gunsmithing, criminal justice, and dental assisting. The cost of the tuition, room, and board would be $21,630. There are 863 students currently enrolled. The math club and video game club interests
In 2012, they reported tracking 15 sharks within the ocean. Co-founders Nathan and David Garrison created the Sharkbanz. The bracelet sends magnetic waves to deter the sharks from a field of 3-6ft. It can prevent the most common shark attacks, hit and run for swimmers, surfers and others. It has been tested on Bull, Nurse, Lemon, Whitetip, Blacktip, Caribbean Reef, Bonnethead, and small Tiger sharks(sharkbanz.com).
A marine Biologists’ job is varied. It can involve working on a specially equipped research ship, diving to study marine life, and collecting marine samples. It can also
This makes boat owners very vulnerable to a non-profit year. On average, a boat fishing for King Crab makes around $850 million. Boat owners get 50% of that which leaves them with $425 million with expenses still remaining (Alaskan Seafood, 1). “Owners are accumulating costs of about $1,000 a day for such expenses as insurance, mortgage fees and food for crew members” (Deadliest Catch' Fishery, 1). Holding the boats just days before the season starts, and the accumulating cost of sitting at the docks, has frustrated many boat owners.
In my opinion, I believe that marine mammals should not be held in captivity for many reasons. To start, they are taking away the animals from their natural habitat. Secondly, captivity causes both major and minor health problems. Another significant reason is that the poor marine creatures do not have enough space to swim resulting in severe boredom and causing them to do harm to themselves Captivity causes many health problems for the innocent marine mammals. There was an incident when Six of Marineland 's seals were blinded, or got serious eye problems because of the unclean water.
You take a huge breath in your scuba mask. You dive into the water you, open your eyes. It’s all bright and colorful. You see multiple animals. There is some that are ugly but you see the most beautiful fish.
The ocean… The sound of the waves applauding and hugging the shore. The internal sounds of the body out in the world’s biggest swimming pool. The echo of my sister’s laughter. The salty smell so strong that one can taste it dancing on ones taste buds.
