On January the 15, 1929, Martin Luther King Jr. was born in Atlanta, Georgia. He was the son of Martin Luther King Sr. and Alberta Williams King, had a sister and a brother, but was never expected to be one of the most influential people of all-time. His achievements are some of the most important in the American fight against racial inequality.
King was a pioneer of African-Americans during the Civil Rights Movement. He was well-known for using nonviolent strategies because he was a Christian. He started the Montgomery Bus Boycott and the Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC) at the age of 21. He was the founder and the first president of the conference.
