Throughout this course as a class we have covered many topics such as Freedom, War, Religion and Happiness to name a few. When you 're learning about different events that have happened you gain a better understanding of what has happen to make the world we live in today what it is, there is good things that has shaped the United States but there is also some bad things that has happen in the past the has shaped the kind of world we live in today. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was born January 15, 1968 to Martin Luther King Sr. and Alberta Williams King in Atlanta, Georgia. At age 5 Martin Luther King Jr. entered a public school. Martin was baptized on May 1936. Then when Martin was 12 his grandmother , Jennie, died of a heart attack. This event was traumatic for him.

On April 4, 1968, just after 6 p.m., Dr. Martin Luther King Jr was fatally shot while standing on the balcony outside of his second story room at the Lorraine Motel in Memphis, TN. Dr. King was in Memphis supporting a sanitation workers’ strike and was on his way to dinner when a bullet suddenly struck him in the jaw, while he was on the balcony (Day). The bullet struck him in the right jaw, severed his spine and came to rest in his shoulder blade. Approximately one hour after being shot, Dr. King was pronounced deceased at the St. Joseph Hospital at 7:05 p.m. ("The Truth About Martin Luther King Jr.'S Assassination").

Martin Luther King Junior was assassinated in Memphis, Tennessee on April 4, 1968. It was about six o'clock, Martin Luther King Junior was standing on the balcony of the second floor room at the Lorraine Motel, where he and his associates were staying. A few moments later he was shot in the neck with a sniper’s bullet, King was rushed to the hospital and about an hour later pronounced dead at the age of 39. News of King's death shocked Americans all over the country. His death caused rioting in more than 100 cities all over the country.

Against his father 's rules, he began to go out and party with the other college students. He drank beers and played games like beer pong, which influenced the consumption of alcoholic drinks. He flirted with many girls while in college and even dated a white woman. At that time period, interracial dating was heavily frowned upon and Martin had a hard time trying to conceal their relationship from the world. Eventually, he gave up and had to break the relationship, as it was causing him too much trouble.
