Activity theory, as interpreted by Ph.D. candidates, Wardle and Kain, is a process that attempts to see all aspects of activity such as social interactions and use of writing and language to achieve goals. This theory is award winning. Activity theory states that for a system to be effective, the rules, community, subject, division of labor, and motives must be reasonable. These components are shown through the chosen tool of communication most often. When one area of the system is corrupted, the tool will no longer function correctly in order to communicate or achieve its goals.

Elie Wiesel strives for peace in a tormented world and atonement for human dignity as he implores Ronald Reagan to reconsider his decision to visit a Bitburg cemetery, a site where graves of Hitler's Waffen SS were found. Wiesel, Jewish political activist and Holocaust witness, begins his address to President Reagan by setting his medal as a symbol inclusive of “all those who remember what SS killers have done”. Using an anecdote of his own personal experience, and a rhetorical question, Wiesel uses humour and an understatement to claim he learned “small things” over the last forty years; however, “the perils of language and those of silence” are anything but. In “What We Are to Advertisers” and “Men’s Men and Women’s Women” both Twitchell and Craig reveal how advertisers utilize stereotypes to manipulate and persuade consumers into purchasing their products. Companies label their audience and advertise to them accordingly. Using reliable sources such as Stanford Research Institute, companies are able to use the data to their advantage to help market their products to a specific demographic. Craig and Twitchell give examples of this ploy in action by revealing how companies use “positioning” to advertise the same product to two demographics to earn more profit. Craig delves more into the advertisers ' plan by exposing the science behind commercials.
For my final project of the semester, Project 4, I decided to revise my rhetorical analysis of project 2. I took your comments and feedback very solemnly, to avail further my inditement. I understood the feedback consummately, and optically discerned precisely what I needed to do. The main thing I wanted to fixate on was understanding that the paper was filled with many conceptions, and constructing it down to precise conceptions, and expounding them exhaustively. I abstracted some conceptions that I believe that weren’t apart of the process of explicating the argument or how it works.
Alfred M. Green: Rhetorical Analysis In April of 1861, the first month of the Civil War, an African American man named Alfred M. Green delivered a speech in favor of African American men joining the Union army. During this time period, African American men were still not able to enlist in the army. However, Green believed that it was still essential towards the Union army’s victory, and towards their freedom and rights as African American individuals. By using the rhetorical strategies logos, ethos, and pathos, he notifies the audience of what they can accomplish, creates trust and unity, and inspires them by describing the possibility of change for the future.
Admiral William H. Mcraven addressed the 2014 graduating class at the University of Austin, Texas with more than eight thousand students in attendance. The address given by Adm. Mcraven touched the hearts of millions from all around the world by his inspirational message of how one person can change the world if they simply helped change the lives of ten others in their lifetime. I chose this speech for my rhetorical analysis because of the simple message it portrays, how helping a few can eventually help many. Adm. Mcraven’s address was especially effective for his audience, much due to how he relates to the students by reminiscing of the day he graduated from UT while providing advice for young college graduates preparing to begin their adult lives.
Rhetorical Analysis of Mike Rose Emotional, ethical, and logical appeals are all methods used in writing to perused you one way or another on various topics. Mike Rose used all of these techniques in this essay, to show how student who are pushed aside, distracted, or fall behind and fail. In this essay Rose describes that students who have teachers who are unprepared, or incompetent majorly contribute to student failure. He is trying to show that many children have potential that is overlooked or sometimes even ignored, by authority.
The United States is made up of some of the most diverse and interesting cultures in the world. Jamila Lyiscott proves this by showing her different dialects and how they are all equally important. Lyiscott believes that the way she speaks towards her parents, towards her friends, and towards her colleagues are all one in the same. Throughout the entirety of her speech, Lyiscott changes up her vocal patterns and dialects so that the audience can understand first hand what each of these dialects are. When she talks about her father, Lyiscott uses her native tongue, when she talks to her fellow neighbors and close friends she switches it up to a more urbanized dialect, and when she is in school she masks the other two dialects with a professional sounding language.
Past leaders such as Andrew Jackson, Adolf Hitler, Benito Mussolini, and Marc Antony are evidence that society does not reward morality and good character in leadership. Society is drawn to leaders that have good rhetoric, propaganda, and charismatic personalities, and society supports them despite their immorality. Society is concerned about stability more than the morality of their leaders and will support immoral leaders in times of crisis to provide stability. In history there have been multiple leaders that have used rhetoric, propaganda and charismatic personalities to gain power, despite their morals.

Something which was and was not Weston was talking.” Satan manifests himself through Weston, and Ransom notices. From this point on Weston is not referred to by his human name alone, but by Un-man.
Many examples of the worst, but also the best of people spring forth from the events that were the Holocaust. One can look back at these events for examples of intense human emotion and suffering. Although these dark times degraded and beat the human spirit, survivors from the Holocaust still find hope and look for ways to improve society and look selflessly for ways to alleviate the suffering of others. Speaking first to the United States government, and then to individuals all around the world, Wiesel, a respected survivor of the Holocaust, hopes to raise awareness to the suffering of many victims in many circumstances, and to encourage the United States and its government to stay away from the trap of indifference. Young people in the 21st Century need to reevaluate their ethics; David McCullough is helping them understand that by explaining that they need to be honest with themselves and their reality. His scathing criticism of them and their culture, philosophies, and ideologies, is justified and insightful; teens in the United States allows special to become a meaningless term, prefers to win instead of achieving, and cares too much about superficial accomplishments instead of internal growth. McCullough makes a point throughout his speech to say that being special is not just given to you; teenagers are not special by default.
