I observed at Carl Albert Middle first as my urban placement. Carl Albert Middle School is located in Midwest City, Oklahoma. I observed in Mrs. Moss’s 8th grade English Language Arts classes. The second site I observed at was Guthrie High School in Guthrie, Oklahoma for my rural placement. There I observed in Mrs. Lucas junior and senior English classes. The schools had similarities and differences between them. Some of differences included the school atmosphere, administration, and teachers. I found that the atmosphere at Carl Albert Middle School was one that was more open and kind. The teachers were very kind and helpful. They all seemed eager to help out in any way they could. The administration was the same way, as the first day
The concert I attended was the Winter Concert at Cabrillo Middle School in the school cafeteria. They had two directors; Miss Pamela Page directing the Advanced Band, Advanced Orchestra, and Concert Choir and Mr. David Anderson directing the Beginning Band and Beginning Orchestra. The Beginning Band was pretty big and had a lot of people in each group of instruments. You couldn’t see the Beginning Orchestra because they were in the back, but they had enough people that you could hear them.
Growing up in a lower to middle-class environment, my educational experiences were very split from year to year. I attended Eagle Elementary in Medford, New York. Medford is very diverse in terms of economic and racial status so our classrooms were filled with different cultures and ideals. Attending a “high need” school district has provided me with opportunities and resources that Alejandro did not receive. My district offered inclusion classrooms throughout elementary and middle school, and received grants in order to better support our English Language Learners and their needs.
The fourth finding I found was that even though Pre-K environments have an emphasis on group activities there was often a designated area in the classroom where children could go and be alone and self-reflect. However, these spaces were used differently throughout the three programs. In one program children went to what they called the “cool down chair” when they misbehaved. In this particular program usually a talkative child who may have been disruptive would have to go to the chair and think about what he or she did wrong. The chair was located in a corner where there were crayons and other play items that the child was allowed to use, but mainly it was a sort of punishment.
Should middle school students have recess? Middle school students should not have recess at all. This is because they need to grow and mature, they could get distracted from their missing work, and there is more of a chance to get hurt. You may think differently, but there is no denying the facts that prove my opinion. Middle school is a time in a kids life where they have more responsibilities, yet still are allowed to be a child.
The importance of athletics is another key aspect in how the Devon school and Princeton High School are similar and different. In conclusion, Princeton High School and the Devon school are similar and different in many ways such as their student boy, academic courses, faculty, and buildings and grounds. In today’s society, Princeton High School may be the more prefered school considering it is not as strict or harsh on
Third, the interactions between students can be dramatic, sometimes the smallest thing will cause the biggest problems for no reason. Some students do something inappropriate or wrong because they were enticed by other students to get something out of it. The culture can be very perplexing at sometimes. Near the end of the school year you can tell because of the atmosphere that there is a lot of pressure on students and teachers.
Child study Introduction of child Q is 5 years 5 months old. She is a girl. She attends a kindergarten. Q is the youngest child in the family of three children. She speaks and understands English during English lesson.
This is the ninth week of my observation at Baker High School. On Monday, the students started off class with doing their bell ringer. The students defined the key terms for chapters 4 and 5. After completing their bell ringer the cooperating teacher began her lecture and power point on Managing Stress and Coping with loss. The students also took notes while she gave her lecture.
Observation- On Tuesday12, 2016 the students were given a writing assignment about what they wanted to do during summer vacations. The assignment was given to first graders at Centennial Elementary School. The time was at five o 'clock and the lesson consisted of the teacher and eight students; five girls and four boys.
It was a ferociously gloomy day in the heart of Center City. The time of the observation was from 11:43 am to 12:43pm. Sandwiched between 15th street and John F. Kennedy Boulevard is the Philadelphia 's Municipal Services Building and within the plaza of the building lies Board Game Park. Even in the rain, the park was festive. Upon arriving, it began to drizzle.
These schools are provided with school books, proper equipment, and sanitary conditions. The children of East St. Louis Senior High School, as well as other high schools in East St. Louis, are well aware of the existence of these schools and are obviously upset by the deplorable conditions of their own school. The next school that Kozol visits is Clark Junior High School. Kozol explains that the conditions of these schools are managed by state funding, and the governor of Missouri does not want to keep “dumping money” into the school district and believes that he cannot help a school district that will not help themselves. The children of these schools, however, realize that the money that funds their schools and the money that funds other schools in the state is very different.
Over the past few months, the class has been discussing typical and atypical language development and the assessment and intervention of children with language delay or disorder. In line with this, the students were asked to observe children aged 0-12 years old with language problems for 2 hours. For this requirement, I went to a therapy center situated in Quezon City last November 16, from ten (10) A.M. to twelve (12) N.N. The center has multiple rooms that are used for speech therapy and occupational therapy. During my observation, two speech pathologists and two children with language disorder were sharing one speech therapy room.
In my last week in Wilkinson Middle School I was observing Classroom Procedures .Ms. Culberson is a very fun teacher but she is really strict in every one that enters her classroom knows that .Ms. Culberson might not be in the class whenever the bell rings but her students know to start in the bell ringer. She times her student and they all have to work quickly and quietly. They grade the bell ringer after words she asks for their grade and they have to say it out loud.
OVERVIEW The elementary school that I observed at, Orchard View Elementary, was located in Delray Beach, FL. The location was very accessible and right off of the highway. The teacher I got assigned to was Ms. Diann Johnson. She teaches a class for students in 3rd-5th grade.
The class consists of main teacher, one co-teacher, and 20 students without any special needs or disabilities (14 girls 6 boys). The difference between the general classroom and the special education classroom that was the students very quiet and didn 't make a lot of noise like in the special education classroom. The classroom was very small for 22 students. I was surprised when I entered the general classroom. all the girls in the front and all the boys were back.
