To say one will do something is setting a goal, to actually do what one has said, is the start of a journey. As my high school career comes to an end, I see it not as a new chapter in my life, but the continuation of my own journey. The start of this journey begins with the University of South Florida and is only made possible through my achievements and experiences from high school.
From the being of my childhood to now, I can honestly say my greatest passion in life has been with me for as long as I can remember and continues to grow every day; my dream of being a veterinarian. This dream has become a reachable reality that continues to blossom with me and in my intentions to reach it. In my efforts to get hands on experience in this career, I have found that I am truly destined in many ways to achieve it. Through being the leader of my school Vet. team, I was able to use my experience from volunteering at animal clinics and my leadership skills to create the perfect team. In competing in the state competition I placed

Through high school, I’ve done over 1000 hours of community service and been an active member of many clubs, but the ones that I have truly put most of my time and effort into have been Spanish Honor Society and Key Club. Combined in these clubs I have had the position of historian, treasurer, secretary, and president. With these leadership positions I was able to develop my leadership skills and also understand the hard work that gets put into these clubs that is later brought out to its members to create a union of people that have influence in the world. Through tutoring students in high school, I have found I alone can make an impact on one person at a time through motivation and mentoring, which in turn makes a difference to our world little by little and helps them start their own journey’s as
“You did it. You helped make a difference,” were the words I heard when I felt my perspective on life change. It was in that moment, standing in the hallway of my high school, holding a crisp check of $2,000 for the American Heart Association that I realized I did not need to be a superhero in order to make a difference. When I became the president of my National Honor Society(NHS) chapter, I set out to make a difference within my school. In years past, the NHS chapter at my school was not extremely active and I set out to reinvent the chapter.
Veterinary Technologist and Technician would be the best career choice for me because it would bring me personal satisfaction, financial stability, and opportunites for help others. First, a career in veterinary technologist and technician would bring great personal satisfaction. I enjoy working, helping out, and just being with animals. For example, Julie Legred, a veterinary technician and executive director at the National Association of Veterinary Technicians in America, says, “We do everything except diagnose, prescribe and do surgery, They often work in private clinics and animal hospitals, assisting veterinarians with the care of animals” ("Veterinary Technologist and Technician"). Without veterinary technologists and technicians,
I think I can give a very high commitment level to the club, as well as valuable ideas, something every single club could use. Currently, I am in the Middle School Ambassadors team, which is led by Ms. Jane Wong and Ms. Tania Tiquet. Here we help new students feel safe in school; we help them solve
I’m looking forward to extend my love for animals to help others with their animal medical needs. My career choice of becoming a Veterinary Technician is to promote good animal health. I want to work in a career which makes me fulfilled professionally and also where there is an opportunity for advancement. This profession will give me the opportunity to provide services to the community. I understand the deep feelings that pet owners have for their pets, therefore I want to do my best to provide good medical care for their pets and help
By active community service, leadership roles, and hard work, I have learned the incredible importance of academic achievement, character, leadership, and service. Through these things, I have been substantially prepared by the Beta Club to serve others as I depart high school and
Armed with the lessons of last year and with a new Service Club president by my side (my friend Christy, with whom I share club responsibilities in a roughly equal partnership), my senior year has seen a complete Service Club transformation. Club membership has rocketed to thirty plus committed members, and we have started no fewer than six successful projects this semester alone, including our drive for donations to create gift baskets for a local battered women’s shelter, a new recycling program in partnership with Environmental Club, and a program where students sew mittens for a local nonprofit serving the homeless. Of all our new programs, my personal favorite is a partnership that I orchestrated between Service Club and Larimer Humane Society, a wonderful animal-rescue organization where I’ve been a volunteer for years. Compared to what it was when I joined, Service Club is an utterly new group, with a vitality and a forward momentum that members a few years ago would scarcely have
Most people would say that my life has been eventfull so far, but I think of my life as average. I know that I have greater things coming, and what I have done up until now will help me along the way. I love music, and have always been involved in various musical activities. I started band in fifth grade, and have been to over ten honor bands in my middle and high school career, learning things each time I went. I am on the Color Guard team and have been Captain of the team for three years and written the routines for two.
Career Paper I have always loved animals and working with them, but I would like to be able to help them when they are sick or injured. Although I love almost every animal, my goal would be to become an Equine Veterinarian. I have grown up loving horses as my mom would say, "When you were little you always wanted to be around horses, and when you couldn't be you were reading about them" (Rogers,D). My interest in becoming a Veterinarian really came full circle when I was asked to care for and bandage my neighbor's horse who had wounded her leg shortly before they planned to go on vacation in Mexico. It was my first real experience caring for a horse who had a serious injury, and watching her heal and being a part of that was eye opening.
Being a veterinarian is something that I will never get burned out on. Because there will always be a new situation. Being a veterinarian according to http://stemtype.stemjobs.com/. I would have to “Diagnose and treat diseases and dysfunctions of animals. May engage in a particular function, such as research and development, consultation, administration, technical writing, sale or production of commercial
I became aware of their hunger and need for shelter and soon I started providing food for whichever stray animals I crossed paths with. I knew that by giving just one meal I would be giving these animals a chance at survival. After realizing my affection for animals, especially cats, and my need to provide a hand to hold, I knew that veterinary technology was the path for me. This project will provide me with the information I need to know to dive head first into this career. I especially want to know what my educational options are, what a typical day on the job is like, what the future job outlook is, and what pros and cons are to be considered.
If you want to get some experience beforehand, you can ask your school to see if they have an internship on being a vet, to get the feeling of working with others. Im gaining experience now, by going to local vet hospitals and asking them questions about what they did to become where they at today. I am suited for this career because I always loved animals which shows I am compassionate about what I'm treating, and also I always wanted to help others, I strive to be excellent so I am driven to succeed in the field. I think what skill I have is problem-solving skills, I always try to find the solution to a problem which could come in handy in my field, where you have to figure out what the problem is with an animal and help solve it for the animal
I have made a promise to myself that I would work hard when I can, keep my grades up in school, practice hard topics, and study daily. Whenever I have an idea, or imagine something in my mind, I write it down or change it. As a person, I chose this path because I really wanted to go through it. I am proud to have accomplished many of my goals. I hope to learn more about the career I want and fulfill many of my goals.
We all remember when we were younger how many of us wanted to be vets. We would pull out our stuffed animals and pretend to give them a check up and then give them back to their owner, which was usually our parents. Almost all of us went through the stage of wanting to be a vet, but for me it wasn’t a stage I knew it would be future career and was determined to reach that goal and dream. Being a vet takes a lot of hard work. There are long hours and you have to make hard decisions that you most likely wouldn’t want to make.
I intend on being more than a dog and cat veterinarian; I desire to help those animals, along with others, such as those found on farms, in zoos, or even in wildlife sanctuaries. I also want to do more than just serve animals; I want to change the veterinary medicine field by creating new and more effective medicines and curing diseases and disorders that are uncured in today’s world. Once I become very successful and financially stable, I would like to help up and coming veterinarians like myself. I want to create my own non-profit organization dedicating to helping those ambitious and creative kids support their dreams financially, and obtain mentors and job shadowing opportunities to encourage them and properly prepare them for their future careers. By doing these things, I would change the lives of both animals and humans; animals, by making state of the art changes and discoveries, and humans, by supplementing their already solid passion in veterinary
When I graduate high school, I plan on having future goals that I plan on achieving. My first goal is to go to college and get a degree. My next future goal would be get a starting job to be able to support my future family.
