There are many reasons I believe I should be inducted into National Honors Society. First, I maintain an A grade average. Second, I am a leader in my school and community. Third, I am very active with actives in and out of school. These are all great qualities to have. Maintaining good grades is very important to me. I study a couple of nights a week for quizzes and tests. If you don’t have decent grades you won’t get into college. Even now in high school you won’t be able to precipitate in clubs like NHS if you don’t maintain a certain average. Like I said if you want to further your education after high school good grades now are a key factor. I am a “leader” many ways in and out of school. In school I am in Environmental, Interact, Journalism, Elementary Connections, and Student Council clubs. I also hold offices in three of these clubs. I am Vice President of Student Council and Secretary in both Journalism and Environmental clubs. I am also involved with Youth Leadership; we go on monthly field trips around the county to learn about leadership roles in the community. Within all these clubs we volunteer in the community throughout the years, like the Chapman Township Haunted House we do for the community every year. In the summer I also participate in the Saint Joe’s Festival, which is held by the church I’m a member of. I usually help run the game stations. …show more content…
I’ve been a dancer at Rachael’s Dance Studio for about eleven years. I also cheer for the Bucktail football team. Being apart of any team you have leadership responsibilities to face. Job wise outside of school I have two, I wash dishes and cook at Pat Reeder’s Tavern on the weekends and work at the Service Garage in North Bend. Both these jobs have taught me so much, things I never gave a thought about until it hit me. Also these roles have helped me learn how to interact with people on a daily
I take the knowledge I gain from school and apply it to real world situations. One saying I stand by is that academic achievement in school is an investment in my future. When I do well in school, I enjoy knowing that I learned something new that I can take home. Overall, rather than just having a commitment to doing well in school, I have a commitment to actually
I’ve been the type of person that likes to be involved in almost everything. I like to help people maybe sometimes way too much. I’ve been Ellos Club President, Club Ed president, Class President, Puma secretary, FOG Vice President and secretary. I’ve also been Senior squad Leader of Avenal Police Department Explorers. All this roles for me have made a difference in my life.
I was involved in this for 2 years, my junior and senior year for a total of 18 hours. Another time I served my community was when I dedicated my time to teaching elementary students in my
It is also something can help me get into a good college. It is also a chance to earn scholarships. It helps add things to a resume as well that future schools and jobs look for, and I want to have any bonus that I can to help myself do well later in life. I believe that I have many things that I bring to the National Honor Society. One thing that y’all would be receiving, if you choose to accept me, is a strong servant leader.
To be in National Junior Honor Society you have to have good character, citizenship, service, and leadership. First, I have good character. I take criticism willingly, and I also welcome recommendations. Second, I demonstrate citizenship well. Civic involvement is very important, and I have high regard to freedom, justice, and respect for the American form of government.
I was taught to work hard and never give up. Leadership is also a very important pillar in the National Honor Society. A leader is a person who guides others with their actions or words and influences others in a positive way. I feel that I am a leader in many ways. I participate in many different
I am very active in the classroom environment. I love to lead the groups and help organize when and what needs to be done in a project. I also help the group stay on task and help them when they need it. One final example of my leadership, is seen in the after school
I want to be part of the SHS board of officers because not only do I take pride and jubilance from my spanish heritage and background, but I work arduously to be a salient member of anything I am a part of. I want to learn from others and gain more responsibility to ensure me a more auspicious future. I believe that by being in such an honorable society and as an officer, I can impact my peers as well as gain knowledge from others and their different cultures. As a current member of the Spanish Honor Society, I have already left a mark, by being published in the March edition of Albricias for a drawing. There have been a myriad of instances where I have displayed my leadership qualities.
I am an active member in our community. I volunteer every month, at least once a month. One of the organizations that I volunteer at is Spoonful of Hope. This organization dedicated to feeding those who were, and still are feeling the effects of hurricane Sandy. They also give food to those who are hungry and in need of a decent meal in our community.
It is a great honor to be nominated as a member of the National Honor Society. There are many reasons why I want to take part in NHS. One reason why I want to be in it is to continue to grow academically with people who have the same goals as me. I want to be encouraged, not discouraged by the people around me. If I get into NHS, it will give me a lot of opportunities to be a leader.
Acquiring leadership skills along with a strong character and the sense to serve others is vital. A leader should be resourceful, dependable, selfless, and a good problem solver. I have led in many ways- inside and outside of school. Last year as a tenth grader, I was class secretary for Class Council.
Being accepted into the National Honor Society has been a goal of mine since I learned what National Honor Society was and how only students who embody the four cornerstones of NHS which are scholarship, leadership, service, and character are accepted to be members. It is very hard to find students who have good character, demonstrate scholarship, are great leaders, and who are willing to do service for their community, and that is why I believe I am a great fit for membership in the National Honor Society because I embody all four cornerstones. The first cornerstone of the National Honor Society, scholarship, is demonstrating that you want to excel in any assignment you’re completing which is something I always do for all of my assignments
This definition of Leadership is best restated by my very own father “A person can demonstrate leadership skills even when not in a leadership position.” Throughout my high school years so far, I have demonstrated leadership mostly in the field of Boy Scouting in two different Troops. I started out my leadership trail in Boy Scouting by becoming a Troop Scribe who as per se the Boy Scout Handbook, 2016 Edition “The Scribe attends and keeps a log of patrol leaders’ council meetings. He records attendance and dues payments of all troop members and records advancement in troop records and on the troop advancement chart.” After that, I ascended into becoming a Patrol Leader and then acting as a Senior Patrol Leader, the highest youth leader of the troop, handling all patrols’ affairs and coordinating with the Scoutmaster for advice and consent.
Throughout my sophomore year of high school, I joined Student Council and Future Business Leaders of America, which helped me better understand the quality of working together. The more organizations joined, the more I grew as a person. At the beginning of my junior year of high school, I was inducted into National Honor Society, became Color Guard captain, and historian for the band. Many of the volunteer activities done were band related, like hosting fundraisers, which gave me opportunities to work more with our community and meet new faces. I also spent my time volunteering in the science club at Castleberry Elementary school every Tuesday during my senior year.
Outside of campus, I am also involved. I am part of dance group called The Renegades. We teach line dance and two-step, as well as perform these dances. I am also a leader for the Cool Clovers 4-H Club in the Sewing and Textiles project. Being a leader, I teach sewing skills to youth members.
