I learned how to study for each subject. Each subject has offers great challenges and I am learning to overcome the difficulties one at a time. In humanities, I have trouble understanding the professor: what is the purpose of teaching the lessons that he is teaching, and what exactly is he trying to ask for each assignment. That is the greatest trouble for me academically. Other classes which include Mathematics, Physics, Physics Lab, and Computer Science are going great and I am having minimal trouble in them. For the educational plan, I do not believe that there is any change that needs to be made yet. However, I am planning to add a second major to my studies and do Finance at NJIT and Rutgers Newark, which would require for me to modify my current educational plan. To finalize the decision, I still need to confer with my academic advisor, and also I am in talks with a finance major at Rutgers to learn more about their coursework. I will make a decision within two weeks and before the registration of Spring 2018 opens in late October. As of now, no changes will be made to the educational …show more content…

I took a course of C++ and it opened up a world of opportunity to me about computer science. From there on, I continued to take computer science classes rest of my high school and I learned a lot. My decision to come to NJIT was because of the great computer science program that it offers and I would love to learn more about the field in the years to

Truly, I did not know and did not research the major first before I took the courses without someone help me to find the right major. Another challenge was overwhelming classes. The classes were very tough, and I was trying to take the required classes to try to finish my major and get a degree. The teachers had high expectation, were not flexible, and were also strict in the most classes. In addition, I also struggled with my motivation.

Throughout the essay, Charles Murray stresses the idea that college is the wonderland of finding oneself and to find the career that one would want to follow for the rest of their lives. “College is seen as the open sesame to a good job and a desirable way for adolescents to transition to adulthood. Neither reason is as persuasive as it first appears.” Murray, C (2008) Practically spoken, this is not normally the case. College is a fair amount of work, much more work than one would normally acquire through any course of a high school or secondary school setting.
My interests in technology did not come until later in my life; when I attended my first engineering and technology workshop. Back in the summer of 2012 I was accepted into the Rowan University’s Boys Engineering, Science, and Technology (BEST) Program. Throughout the event I was in awe and fascinated by what engineering had to offer. We built bottle rockets and constructed penny bridges, but what stood out to me the most was the hands on experience with computer programming.
