Display a three part question on the board. Ask the students to work out:
a) The percent of a given amount
b) The percent of a given amount (when percent is in a decimal form, e.g. 5.5%)
c) Change the subject of a simple linear formula, e.g. F=ma

It is prepared for students to self-assess if they meet each criterion, a vital self-scaffolding technique. Not only that but most often the criteria are linked one another, hence they formulate the learning. Holton & Clarke (2006) highly recommends to empower the students to develop their own problem solving skills, with this in mind, the first process success criterion encourages students to analyse the question and get a greater picture before they start solving it. This is transferable skill that can be applied with any …show more content…
This is something that everyone must show as it is a “process success criterion”. Two examples will be displayed. They will be modelled by the teacher, but he will try to obtain as much information as possible from the students. As asserted by Holton and Clarke (2006), conceptual scaffolding should be provided in order to move students through ZPD. By the time the model questions have been completed, the scaffolding will almost be completely removed and the students will be working independently. This conforms to the notion of “hand over principle”, Dunphy and Dunphy (2003).
When the students work independently, the teacher should have his strategies to deal with frustrations ready. He has to make sure that the contents of the task fall within the students ZPD and a good interaction with the students is provided, Wood, Bruner and Ross (1976).
Students should be given meaningful feedback which is a very crucial point, particularly a verbal one as it allows a dialogue through talk. Misunderstanding can be picked up and addressed. Talk can lead to come across a wrong application of the knowledge and hence rectified immediately, Alexander
1) $250,000 or $500,000 (MFJ) gain exclusion on sale of principal residence as long as the ownership and use test have been met. 2) Divorce-Related sales are required to list the use agreement in the divorce decree so that both spouses may receive the gain exclusion upon the sale of the home. 3) Depreciation taken post-May 6th 1997 can be recaptured as a section 1250 gain, subjecting the recapture amount to a maximum tax rate of 25%. 4) Like-kind exchanges of a residence can allow for the taxpayer to deter the gain under section 1031.
\subsection{Creation of Matching Entries ({\it MakeMatchingEntries'})} \label{sec:make-matching} \label{sec:match} Procedure ${\it MakeMatchingEntries'}$ takes a decoding entry set and a pattern as input and outputs a newly created set that contains the entries that match the input pattern. Note that not every entry in the newly created set is the same entry in the input entries because the exclusion conditions were modified. The exclusion conditions that are invalidated by the input pattern are removed from the exclusion condition set of output entries. In addition, when all the matching patterns are invalidated, the unmatching patterns are expanded to their opcode patterns. Procedure ${\it MakeMatchingEntries'}$ consists of the following
Mr. smith on october 23,2015 mr. smith (victim) i have evidence that u killed the defendent mr.holland and nothing but the truth and nothing but the truth now put your right hand on the bibe and lets get started. now i going to be asking u some questions like how it happend but the passage quot that u was “waking u screaming”the old man said, he was scared something would come get him or some and, it was like he was painicking. there was a dripping from the roof and he thought the police would here the sound bc he had hidden the body under the wood floor.and the the police was still searching and they could’t find nothing then the victim was scared at the moment. Generally this week programming assignment was not easy for me to do, there have been a lot of up and down and I find it a little challenging to finish my programming assignment. But unfortunately I was not able to submit my work because by the time I finished, it was too late for me to submit, but I learnt a lot on return values which only can you pass a parameter value into a function, a function can also produce a value. The built-in functions such as abs, pow, int, max, and range, have produced results. Calling each of these functions generates a value, which we usually assign to a variable or use as part of an expression. You have already seen this in some previous functions that you have used.
In the changing and fast growing pace of technology, my position as a CIO has had to adapt to better align with our company’s business objectives. With the IT seemingly becoming more influential in the business world, it makes sense that the CIO will have more responsibilities in the company (Taewon Hwang, Discussion 1, 9:19 PM). Having a CIO as a business-strategy partner is key to alignment. Not only does he have to manage IT resources, he also must deploy and communicate IT capabilities in the way they align with the business strategic vision (Yves Laison, Discussion 1, 10:22 AM). The CIO certainly plays a crucial role in that competitive analysis, but so does every c-suite executive.

With the proceeding with development of innovation, it 's not amazing how patterns are always showing signs of change too. A major number of organizations attempt to make new patterns or keep up and ride with the present ones as they make new tech new companies that will snare general society and keep them needing for additional. Take Flappy Feathered creature for instance. In spite of the fact that the application was discharged May of 2013, it made colossal waves in 2014 and even turned into the most downloaded free amusement in the Apple Application Store. It even earned $50,000 a day!
Part 1: It would effect everything on the planet, plants would be less able to produce the suns energy and living organisms would be in big trouble. A short term effect would be decreasing plant populations and a long term effect would be a decreasing population of every organism on the planet. i. Much like the first one, if the sun was completely blocked producers could not produce, thus consumers could not eat them and get energy and the decompress could not break down the organisms if they're not alive. It would result in the overall extinction of living organisms on earth. ii.
SCENERIO Baxter, a year three Aboriginal student who at age three developed a sensorineural hearing impairment after repeated exposure to Otitis Media. Baxter uses a cochlear implant on one ear, as the other was not viable. Unfortunately, due to bullying in previous years Baxter has limited confidence in his communication skills and will rarely speak aloud, except with the teacher privately, close friends, and family. Baxter often communicates using basic sign language, but relies heavily on gestures. He is currently working with a speech therapist to increase his speech and language skills and to increase his confidence.
Using technology can increase our access to information, improve teaching efficiency and can make learning more enjoyable. At the ASMS we use technology to enhance our learning during school assignments ad tasks. Maths and Abstract Thinking, a central studies topic, gave me the opportunity to use technology to create a company log during a functions and graphs folio task. Using GeoGebra , mathematical software, and my knowledge around functions and graphs I created a logo for a self-created business ‘Ashley Platt’s Delectable Delights’ (see figure 1). Using technology allowed me to plot inequalities and line equations, skills gathered during the topic, with ease to create an accurate and unique design that met the requirements of the task.
1. What are the two critical elements to keep in mind when using instructional scaffolding? Modeling and Practice are the two critical elements to keep in mind when using instructional scaffolding. Modeling is when the teacher demonstrates or models each step in a task or strategy multiple times, so that through repetition and modeling the students understand both how to perform each step and why. Practice is when the students are allowed to either work individually or in groups with the teacher to practice a task or strategy.
The student’s interview shows that in class 1 student are well encouraged to learn and in class 2 students were not inspired to learn though the teacher didn’t ask questions to the students and no individual help is given to the students. Even at the end of the lesson students were not aware of the lesson objectives though it is not shared in class 2. In class 1, prior knowledge was checked and this helped the students to link the existing knowledge with a new knowledge. However prior knowledge was not checked in class 2.
Critical Essay 2 Norma Liendo Teaching English as a Second Language Teaching today has become a very interesting job for soon-to-be or current teachers due to the high culture diversity in their classrooms. Teacher not only have to be well prepared to present quality education but also to be able to accommodate for all the students needs regardless of origin, color or race. The important point is not teaching different children but due to their different backgrounds they learn differently; thus, the teachers now need to become aware of the students’ cultures in their classroom as soon as possible. These different learning styles should make the teacher knowledgeable that he/she might have to embark on a journey to explore the students’ cultures and embrace them because at the end of the day
