The Joint Operation Planning Process (JOPP) is a critical element that is established through all levels. It encompasses a large range of military operations, which includes other military forces (Navy, Marines, Air Force, etc.) and allies to the United States. Within this planning process, course of actions (COA’s) are developed, analyzed then checked against alternate COA’s to produce the order or plan.

September 11, 2001. A day that many hate to remember and a day the world will never forget. The devastating attack on America that occurred on 9/11 was not only a wake up call but also reveled that America was the impenetrable State she displayed herself as. The president at this time was George W. Bush; he has to act quickly and intelligently. This called for immediate attention and had the attention of single person in America.
This event cause over 2000 deaths and left many injured. At the time our President Franklin Roosevelt calls December 7,1941 “a date which will live in infamy”. The date of September 11.2001 was a surprise attack as well. On September 1,2001 four passenger planes were hijacked by a terrorist group named Al Qaeda. The first two planes crashed into the twin towers in N.Y.C, the third plane crashed into the pentagon in Virginia, and the fourth and final plane crashed in a field in Pennsylvania.
Loffreda's essay title "Losing Matt Shepard" itself speaks great volumes. Her emphasis on "Losing" perhaps shows us a great amount of sorrow felt in the "loss" of Matt. Furthermore, in regard to her emphasis on "losing" she quite clearly shows us how we are losing to value life, which is why these hate crimes occur. Matt had not done any crime, his only crime was being gay. A crime which itself isn't even a crime.
