Oskar Schindler: Nazi hero
Introduction
“...With people behaving like pigs, I felt the Jews were being destroyed. I had to help them. There was no choice,” In the words of Oskar Schindler (2008, O’Neil). An ex-Nazi, and a man that believed in saving the lives of people no matter what their religion. Schindler helped The Jewish people in many ways. It started out as just giving them a home, but turned into something more valuable. Not only did Schindler help the Jews, but they helped him. From the 1930’s to Oskar Schindler's death, he saved the lives of many Jewish people in Germany just because he felt obligated to do so after seeing the way they had been treated.
Schindler and his factories First Factory
Oskar Schindler had many responsibilities at his first factory “Emalia”, including saving the lives of many Jewish people. In November 1939, Schindler left Svitavy, A city in the Czech Republic, and traveled to Krakow,

In 1944, Schindler decided he wanted to move his factory to Brunnlitz in the Czech Republic. Since this factory was going to hold all of the 1,200 workers he needed to come up with some sort of list so he could send the Jews to Brunnlitz. When an assistant created the list full of employee’s it became acknowledged as “Schindler’s List” (2016, USHMM). When the Jews were supposed to get transported by train to the factory, someone made a mistake and put 300 women on the wrong train. Instead of going to the Czech Republic the women were heading to Auschwitz (2003, Harran). Auschwitz was the biggest and best-known death camp (2009, History.com Staff). Instead of going to his factory and leaving the 300 female Jews to Auschwitz, Schindler risked his life to save them and return them to his newly opened factory (2003, Harran). Not only does this show that Schindler cared for his employees, but he also was as loyal to them as they were to
Hitler sent Jews to concentration camps for labor in which many people like Kitty Hart-Moxon were also there. He made them work and when he felt like they weren’t useful anymore, they would be sent to die in gas chambers while being told they were going to be “taking a shower”. Living conditions in concentration camps were horrible with many
In December 1939, Poland was being torn apart by the savagery of the Holocaust. Oskar Schindler took his first faltering steps from the darkness of Nazism towards the light of heroism. “If you saw a dog going to be crushed under a car,” he said later of his wartime actions, “wouldn't you help him?” Poland had been a relative haven for Jewish people and it numbered over 50,000 people, but when Germany invaded, destruction began immediately and it was very harsh. Jews was forced into crowded ghettos, randomly beaten and humiliated, and continuously murdered for no reason.
Hitler’s Nazi Party commited many horrible atrocities that affected millions, killing six million Jews and five million Gentiles. Celebrated Holocaust survivor and Nobel Peace Prize winner, Elie Wiesel, writes about his experiences at Auschwitz in the memoir, Night. Wiesel underwent beating, whipping, forced labor, and starvation and witnessed many other inhumane acts at the hands of the Nazis, all while he was between the ages thirteen and seventeen. The many traumatic events that Elie experienced during his time in a concentration camp altered both his physical appearance and his spiritual relationship with God.
Also the SS men made all the prisoners look the same so they could all feel like there was no place for them. Also the SS men’s form of dehumanization was abuse and the SS men were hurting the prisoners in many violent ways including, whipping , hitting, blows to the head, barley feeding them, forcing them to get tattoos of numbers on their arms that they have to live with forever, and much more. The prisoners had to live with these scars and memories for the rest of their lives and always have a memory of what it was like in the holocaust always in the back of their mind. It's a very awful experience that they went through while in the concentration
Adolf Hitler once said, “Those who want to live, let them fight, and those who do not want to fight in this world of eternal struggle do not deserve to live.” One man who stood out as a fighter was Simon Wiesenthal. He was a victim of the Holocaust but also an influence to many Jews. After being imprisoned by Hitler, Simon Wiesenthal, a Jew, sought revenge by spending his life hunting Nazis in hiding.
Schindler’s List is a movie where a German industrialist saved more than a thousand Jewish refugees from the Holocaust. Sadly, there were still over 6 million Jews that died. Similar to Schindler’s List, Elie Wiesel was one of the few Jewish people who survived the concentration camps. He was starved, beaten, and stripped of his dignity like many others. In his story, he talks about things we would rather forget because we are ashamed of the things we have done in the past.
Teaming up with Itzhak Stern, Schindler displays courage by risking his life to save and protect Jews. The same race of people, he as a Nazi profiteer, was not supposed to be shielding. He opens a factory where he had Jewish workers that were eventually going to be killed. He bribed Amon Goeth, to
Elie Wiesel The holocaust, killed more than 6 million Jewish people just for being Jewish. Elie Wiesel was one of the lucky few to survive the holocaust. I’m going to explain what His life was like as a child, what his life was like as he was in the death camps, and what his life was like after the war was over and he was free again. Elie Wiesel became famous for writing about his experiences in the death camps.
Jews that lived during the Holocaust were robbed and deprived of their God given rights and humanity.. They slowly lost hope, faith, family, and the reason you keep living. Elie Wiesel realizes he has to let go of his family to survive when the doctor says, “In this place there is no such thing as father, brother, friend”(110). This is dehumanizing because people are born needing a family to depend on and once they lose something as simple as that, they fall into a pit of negative emotions. Thousands of people lost their family members during the holocaust and the Germans had absolutely so sympathy towards them.
Schindler 's Transformation Oskar Schindler, a greedy nazi who’d people not expect to ever do anything good had an amazing transformation in his life. He is smart and knows how to get his way. But when most people think rich people are greedy his transformation proves otherwise. Schindler changed in many ways throughout his story. He started out tricking people to make money but ended up saving many Jews and his actions touched the hearts of many people.
Schindler risks his life and gives up fortune to save hundreds, while Goth sends thousands to their death and even casually snipes Jewish prisoners one morning for sport. These events all display just how easily life can be saved, traded, or taken away, and illustrate the value of remembering how the Holocaust happened. The film encompasses the idea that life only has as much value as those in control deem it to be. Through this focus on the fragility of life, the film acts as a reminder of what happens when good people stand idle in the wake

Also, being a member of the Nazi Party gives Schindler more weight behind his words since the Nazis were one of the groups that were generally seen as powerful and almighty during World War II. Altogether, Schindler strategically fulfilled his purpose by tuning into the three appeals associated with persuasive
As he experiences multiple harsh moments, Schindler becomes a decent, unselfish, and a positive manipulating man. Schindler once said, “War brings out the worst in people.”, but he proves his own statement wrong by himself becoming a better man. As Steven Spielberg directs Schindler’s List, he profusely provides us with great details of how Oskar Schindler’s character has
Schindler’s List is a movie based on the Holocaust. Whether the story happened exactly like in the movie is still debatable. Most of the events that are depicted are true, such as the attempts to save lives of Jews who were being killed and dispatched to concentration camps. In the movie we see Oskar Schindler, a German businessman, trying to save lives of Jews because he argues that they were necessary for his factory to increase in profit and be successful. According to David M. Crowe, Oskar Schindler didn’t have much to do with the list that was created.
