When people think about high school students, they may imagine carefree teens who seem to have little to concern themselves with, except for petty drama within their social groups. However, students are pushed with expectations of achieving stellar grades and being accepted into the colleges of their, or their parents’ dreams. High school shouldn’t be about getting the best grades, or even stressing over being considered popular. Stephen King himself even said, “Let’s face it. No kid in high school feels as though the fit in.”

There isn’t much I remember from elementary school, I never thought anything I did before jr high really mattered. However there is one thing I won’t be able to forget about. Not because it was particularly significant to me, but because it was significant to my father who always brings it up. I’m sure if he hadn’t reminded me of it so frequently I would’ve forgot about it a long time ago. You see, in fifth grade I had a really scrawny nerdy friend who’d get picked on quite often for being like so, and one day he told his dad who also worked with my father and told him that I would stand up for him when he was getting bullied.

High school is a jungle. Either stand out on the top of the food chain or be devoured at the bottom. This extraordinary film perfectly analyzes and explains the troublesome life of teenagers and the stress to fit into a group. Each person was exactly like society imagined him or her to be. Throughout each scene the feelings and inner thoughts became clear.

Just shortly after 2:30pm on a Thursday, Heather and I pulled into the parking lot at the new Middle School and caught up with the rest of our English Comp class. I am dumbfounded by how this new Middle School has turned out. I was thirsting for knowledge about the new building yet the only thing I really wanted to know was the comparison between the new and old school’s way of learning and schedules. The building itself reminded me of college campuses that I have visited where the architecture is very geometric and intricate. The building itself looks as though it has been untouched and unused even though school has been in session for about a month and a half now.

When I started Unity High School I thought that it was going to be boring school because my first choice was Skyline but my mom made me come to this school so I had to obey what my mom wants because she takes care of me and helps me with whatever I need help with so going to the school that she wanted me to go to was the least I could have done. I thought that high school was going to be difficult because the work that my brother would bring home when he was in high school looked really hard and I did not understand most of the work he needed to complete. But I realized that I need to be taught the material before I go on and do the work

Most people consider adolescence as a peaceful time period in life but that is far from the truth. Adam Bagdasarian’s short story “Popularity” is about a boy who struggles to fit in and all he wants to be is popular. “Hanging Fire” by Audre Lorde is a short story about a girl who has multiple insecurities while dealing with them alone. “Going Steady” by Adam Bagdasarian is a short story about a boy who struggles to express his real feelings when in a romantic relationship. Adolescence is a time full of fights and no one can escape its pain because the fight for popularity and feeling insecure, while feeling alone can often be challenging for teens.

The Mora High School cafeteria is a very familiar place to me, with it’s columns in the middle of the room, the off-white paint, and white and blue tiled floor. The cafeteria is usually a place full of a lot of kids and incredible amounts of noise. It’s nearly empty except for the four tables placed in the formation of a square near the little nook where the lunch ladies serve us food, or at least what tries to pass as food. The seats around each table are occupied by the cast of Annie celebrating the completion of their second show. The cast of Annie doesn’t even come close to filling the cafeteria, but the noise level could nearly be the same as when it’s fully filled during lunch.

During my freshman year of high school I struggled in many areas of my life including personal, social, and academic. I was in an emotionally abusive relationship, struggling with my self-esteem, and fighting to keep my grades above c 's. Since then I have grown, learned from my experiences and it can all be seen through my transcripts and the friend group I now surround myself with. I came into high school with a boyfriend who I had dated on and off throughout middle school. He was the kind of boy who did not understand the concept of how to treat people, and being so young I did not fully understand the way he was treating me. My parents were not his biggest fans because I often came home upset because of the things he said to me, and the way he treated me.

Beep, beep, beep, beep, bee- “Ugh,” I groaned. It was Wednesday morning and I had a big math final today. I got up out of bed and went to go open my white curtains, that hung low to my floor. The sun welcomed my face with a warm, bright embrace.

Narrative: I moved to Kansas City, Kansas seven years ago. It all started when I was in 6th grade with these girls. I was a different race then them. They thought it would be cool to mess and try to get rid of the white girl. One day, they decided to try everything they possibly can to get me kicked out.

Middle School to High School In middle school, one thing that I thought of high school is that it wouldn’t be much different than middle school. I was told a lot of bad things about high school, people saying “just wait until you get to high school, everything gets a lot worse” or “you think it’s hard now? Just wait.” When I was in middle school, I was told as well as thought that high school wouldn’t be any different than middle school except for it being harder academic wise.

I completed my placement hours at Northside High School. The population of the school is four hundred and seventy students. Of those four hundred and seventy students enrolled at Northside, 95% are White, 2% are Black, 2% are Hispanic, and 1% is Other. The percentage of students identified as living below the poverty index is 33%. Northside had eight class periods a day, which meant each class period was around forty minutes.

A huge number of kids that are going on to junior Think the won’t be able to survive, most of them are scared to come because they fear that they won’t have enough time between classes, Not opening your locker, and lastly they fear that they will be squashed or pushed by the 8th graders! These are the steps on how to survive middle school. When I came to middle school I was pretty scared to but I survived! The first thing I had trouble with was that I couldn’t get my locker open, every time I tried I couldn’t open it

In the duration of my middle school years, I maintained excellent grades, except I had just one issue that held me back from a satisfying life. That issue was the fact that friends came very hard to me in my middle school years. Before my struggles at my middle school, Trafton, I had a very productive social life in the Elementary school I attended, Roberts Elementary. Here, it was very easy to make friends and have a great social life, since no hard work was required as a kid. Middle school, however, was a great challenge for me.
