The next day I went to the kitchen to eat my breakfast possibly for the last time. When I finished I went to my room to get all the supplies I need including, food, water and things to use as shelter. All of these things would help me make it through my journey across La Linea. Questioning myself on what I needed to complete this journey, I realised that I had no money while I was gathering my supplies. How was I going to make it across the border with no money that isn 't possible. Looking back, I know my grandmother did not have any money so my only choice was to ask Juanito, don Clementes nephew. Feeling some guilt inside,I know it wasn 't the right thing to do but it had to be done. A couple hours later I headed towards the house of don Clementes. Once I arrived, I knocked on the door looking for Juanito, Juanito answered. Once he answered I explained to him how much I really needed money.
"Juanito I really need your help"
What do u want Elena?"
"I really need money to be successful throughout my journey to cross La Linea"
"Why should I help you Elena ?"
At first he did not want to help at all but after further explanation he decided to give me money but only if i payed Juanito back. Desperately needing money,I told him I would and I asked him for a route to cross La Linea. Juanito agreed and gave me plenty of money to survive and he also gave me a route to La Linea. This was very helpful and I thanked Juanito.
"Thanks for helping me Juanito, it means a lot."
I know Miguel was gonna hate me for this but this had to be done, there was no other

Growing up in a Mexican household, the food we ate always had a spice to it. Whether the spice was on the side or already prepared in the food, my food always had a spice to it. My grandma’s favorite signature spice was her Pico De Gallo. Pico de Gallo also called salsa Fresca, is made from chopped tomato, onion, cilantro, fresh Serrano’s (jalapeños or habaneros are used as alternatives), salt, and key lime juice. At first I did not like Pico de Gallo because I couldn’t bear how spicy it was.
Mariela’s parents did not want her to leave the family to go work even though her family needed the money. Because her family didn’t have enough money to sway Mariela into staying she moved in with her aunt and began work as a live-in domestic worker. Part of the money Mariela made working was sent back to her family to support them financially. Because Mariela’s brother, Eduardo, got a job and was able to support their family with his work, Mariela moved back home. When Mariela moved to Cancun to work as a live-out domestic servant, she was able to convince her parents to let her stay.
Junot Diaz and his immigrant family came to America from the Dominican Republic. Traditionally, families send money back home to help fill the void of absence and distance. But they didn’t have much money to send and to help support their own household. Diaz’s father worked odd jobs, he always got fired from, and his mother was a stay home mom. Any little money their mother could get her hands on, she put it away, and every six months, she sent it to her parents.

Mr. Junot Díaz’s paper titled “The Money” is a paper about the struggles of growing up as a Dominican, or less specifically an immigrant, in America. It shows the type of people he had to deal with growing up and how he handled the way these people acted. The point of the text is to show how Mr. Díaz lived as a young man though one specific life experience.
As the story comes to a close i can see how this will continue to happen in future events. Enrique wants to believe that his family won’t be too hurt by his decision but he cycle of disappoint will most likely continue in my opinion. He tells mayor Carrasco that he does not think it is worth the time and money for doctors to save travelers like Enrique “This is what they get for doing this journey,” He says of migrants. Yor carrasco disagrees.

I have had tough hope once, I had to move to a different state and start to get used to the new place. Moving was hard and took a long time to move everything to our new house. My new house was hard to get used to because it was different and I wasn 't used to it which made it hard to sleep and I had to leave my friends behind and I would have to find new friends. Making new friends was hard because I would be alone until I found new friends and I would have no one to talk to so I would be very quiet. Usually I would always be talking to a friend and I am only social with friends.
They were playing a game that had to do with guns and I didn’t like that cause it made me go back to the memory of the guy in the war asking for water. So I started talking to the giver about it and he understood cause that has happened to him before.
My older population observational hours allowed me to realize that the elderly are active members of society and have a lot of wisdom to offer to the younger generations. I got to listen to great stories from a great person that I met at a local restaurant. I wouldn’t have imagined the astonishing life experiences people from can go through and now more than ever, I feel grateful for my family and our wellbeing. Getting older is something to look forward to since it’s just a misconception that as you age, you lose your happiness. I now understand that getting older means having more time to enjoy hobbies and family, which bring true happiness to your life.
