Personal Narrative: My Relative Location Of Austin Texas

As a person goes through life he or she may wonder “Who am I?” and “What is my purpose?” The objective of this paper is to allow me to reflect and critically analyze who I am as a person. In this paper, I will discuss my social location and identity, my life experiences and my privileges and disadvantages.

Growing up in Texas What is it like growing up in Texas? I have people always state that their home state is the best place to grow up, but I can honestly say where I grew up was the best. We had some much to do and so much to see.

In summary, on 09/21/15 at 0418 hours I was patrolling the area of 1600 S. Laramie Ave., at which time I observed a male subject with a youthful appearance walking northbound 16th Street. I made contact with the subject, at which time he identified himself as (Rosas, Alexis DOB 04/21/97). While speaking with Rosas, I detected a strong odor of fresh cannabis emanating from his person. Rosas related he had some cannabis in his sweater pocket. I recovered a silver box containing a green leafy substance from Rosas ' right sweater pocket.

In Plano, Texas, many drive to get from place to place, but for this suburban mom’s fear of driving has gotten difficult. For Kalika Patel, driving was never a difficult task, but through past experiences it has gotten difficult. She said this “started when I was running regular errands, but suddenly my blood pressure increased, and I became dizzy” This may not sound like anything major, but after this first incident, this occurred to her many other times. Mrs. Patel said “this kept happening over and over again, finally it felt as it was an anxiety problem” Currently, she still deals with anxiety, but she said “that [her] condition has gotten much better from the few years ago, when this innocent first occurred,” as she told our news team.

I’ve completed my move to Houston. I traded in my Maryland license for a Texas one. With that said, I’ve found a new church home. I joined Wheeler Avenue Baptist Church on January 13th. The church is very similar to STCF.

Being from Louisiana, I was raised to always have my own back. My family is very big, I have 3 sisters, 2 brothers. I live with my mom and step-dad and occasionally visit my biological dad and step- mom. My family are encouraging and sometimes can be helpful. They expect the best from me being that I am the oldest child.

I grew up in a small Texan suburb called Keller. I have lived in this area since I was in the fifth grade and, even though I now attend college in Dallas, I still come back to visit often. My family has recently relocated our residence closer to the Fort Worth area, but Keller remains a five-minute drive away and I still consider myself a Keller resident. Growing up, I thought Keller was a small town with nothing to do. The closest movie theater was a 25-minute drive to Southlake, Texas, and there were not many restaurants or other recreational areas.

I had no idea about what I was going to find in Little Rock. First of all, I have been enjoying my groups company, I feel that we’re more close and united after that trip. Therefore, I liked a lot traveling there with them and I also adored the highway. It’s wonderful to admire nature while you are on the road, it reminded me some speedways in Mexico. For me, one of the most interesting places there was High Central.

The community I grew up in central Texas celebrated my heritage, honored differences in culture, and fostered personal growth and self-discovery. My parents, with the strong work ethic they developed on their family’s farms in Ghana, encouraged my brother and me to work hard and find ways to use our skills to be of service to others, which wasn’t hard to do growing up in Austin with its many avenues to become involved and take care of the community, whether it was helping to direct families through the Trail of Lights at Zilker Park during the winter or raise money for educational programs for underprivileged kids in the area through working the concession stands at the University of Texas at Austin. As a young girl, around the age of 10 I lived in the Perry projects with my mother. Previously to moving there I would visit often to see my great-grandmother. When I would visit my grandmother there were not many other people that were African-American. The Commodore Perry Projects had been actually made for white people.

When I was 14 I had to move to San Clemente, California. I had already recently moved temporarily to Texas while a house was made ready for us on the military base. “The house is ready!” my mother had said excitedly, after being on the phone for a few minutes. “It’s time to go back?”
