Today I’m going to be talking about my trip to Durango, Mexico. I live in Dacono, Colorado so the drive to Colorado to Durango takes two days. My grandparents and I, stay in Mexico for about two weeks and a half and we leave Friday morning like at 4:00am and we arrive to the border of El Paso, Texas like at 3:00pm. After we’ve arrived to Texas we make a pit stop to go use the restroom and to also eat because once we leave Texas and into Mexico, its going to be a long while before we get to eat and use the restroom again. Once we leave Texas and enter Mexico our second destination is Chihuahua, Mexico. Chihuahua is one of Mexico’s biggest city’s and one of our family members live their which is why we are going to Chihuahua to make our final
Celebrating holidays from both countries, each with their own special traditions, I was able to become more appreciative of where my roots lie. From the U.S. national anthem, to the beautiful folklorico dances of Mexico, I am fascinated with the blended culture I

Thoughout its existence, the Santa Fe Trail provided more then just trade from Missioury to the far southern reaches of the western lands of the United States. If you are feeling a little confused that’s okay, this is judgment free zone. I am twenty three years old and on the verge of graduating this December, And my interpretation of messages changes every day that I mature and grow as a person.
I was contemplating what would be a good topic for my observation and I was heading to Durango, CO when it came to me. The reason I was heading to Durango was to go and get a tattoo and that’s when I decided to observe the shop I was going to. I was familiar with Skin Inc. because I have gotten a tattoo by them before and it was a comfortable environment so it was the perfect place. You could look at a tattoo shop with all of the tools needed to make a sociological observation.
The Bible can mean different things to many different people. It can symbolize hope, forgiveness, and passion. To me, it symbolizes all that and more. To me, the bible symbolizes a new begging, friendship, family, and love. As I have mentioned in earlier post's moving to Columbus has been very hard on me, leaving everything I know, and leaving the most important people in my life, my family.
was born in a small town in Texas known as Laredo. It was a poor city and was basically the border town to Mexico, it was always a mess, always hot, and only snowed once in 2002. Even though the city I was born in was harsh place, I had a great family that raised me well and taught me how to be respectful to my elders. Home was always different, every 2 to 3 years we always moved around so I really didn’t have many friends, until I moved to San Antonio is where I found a great home in 2007, the neighborhood was filled with nice people and each house actually had a lawn and not just broken cars or dried dirt in the front porches. The community was fantastic as well, the people and atmosphere we lived in when we moved to San Antonio was so much better than Laredo because people were actually nice to you and everyone didn’t look like they were going to cause trouble.
Describe site location, demographics, and current use. The location of the site is the Stanton Bridge, which is an International border between Ciudad Juarez, Mexico, Chihuahua and El Paso, Texas, U.S. (See Figure 1). The United States is one of the most popular borders for immigrant crossings in the world.
“We carefully count out the money, figuring out the exchange pesos to dollars” (Cantu 8). I can only imagine how tough this life must have been. To have to transverse an international border, which comes with some degree of treachery as noted above, just to go to a family members quinceanera (as the author did) will eventually breed feelings of discontentment. Many Mexicans despised the creation of the border seeing it as
I have now bid adieu to The Arizona Trail and my journey to be an example of hope for others who suffer from Multiple Sclerosis. It was an emotional parting but one which has ultimately become dear to my heart despite all of the trials and tribulations along the way. They were all inherent to the journey and would allow for its substance. I realize, though I might not have had at the time, that I would not have traded any one of those precarious times for a volume of lessons have been learned from each and every experience. I was privy to have met new friends and foster my relationships with old ones as well as family.
Religion is defined as the belief in and worship of a superhuman controlling power, especially a personal God or gods; a system of faith and worship (Oxford Dictionary). This definition of religion is true to the “Abrahamic religions”; Judaism, Christianity, and Islam, the three largest religions in the world. These religions share a variety of the same characteristics for example they are all monotheistic, belief in one god. On my next journey of these religious visits I decided to visit the Islamic religion. November 21st, 2017 at 11:00am
Here, none of that is true. It has taken us 2 days to get to Saltillo, Mexico. It’ll take us another couple of days to get to Texas. We don’t have a final destination yet but Mami says we’ll figure it out when we get there. We are walking in big groups.
Introduction San Diego de Alcala was the first mission in Alta California that Father Serra and Captain Gaspar de Portola established on July 16, 1769. They built it in San Diego Bay, where the tribe named “Kumeyaay” was settling. The Native Americans became mad after the Spanish missionaries treated the native people badly, so they decided to attack the mission. After the disaster, Father Serra came back from Mission San Carlos to San Diego to see people rebuilding Mission San Diego. Kumeyaay Before the Spanish started settling, a tribe named “Kumeyaay” was living.
This would be my fourth time visiting Mexico. Crossing the border is the most nerve racking thing that you could do and I know from experience how dangerous it can be driving to your destination. It was the December the week before finals and my parents had planned on taking a trip to
Downtown Durant is a charming place that showcases some of the oldest and newest businesses in town. When I had the chance to walk around, I got to observe how Durant has gradually been building up since its’ beginning in the late 1800s. Durant has accumulated a unique history, which I had a chance to learn firsthand by some local business owners and by observing and doing my own research. My group started our adventure on the east end of Main Street.
