Personal Narrative: Sarah Adams Aberney

My partner is Cathryn Cusano, she has lived in Easton, Pennsylvania throughout her entire life. Cathryn has a love for softball and has played ever since she was a little girl. During Cathryn’s senior year of high school she had multiple offers to play softball for elite colleges in the area. She started out having an amazing season, the team was also thriving which eventually resulted in them making it to the playoffs. It was the first round of playoffs and Cathryn was on first base, one of her teammates was up to bat.

Yvonne Allen does not have any right to wear her headscarf in her licence photo due to the security issues it would create. She believes that her rights are being infringed upon, but doesn't realize that a licence is a privilege not a right. It is hard to argue this fact when it says literally nowhere in any law or precedent that any U.S. citizen has any right to a licence. Allen only uses two defenses one of which is how her faith is tested “in a way that was humiliating and demeaning”(8), a judge will never consider this as a good defense on why she should get her licence, because it is based on emotions not law. It was just another day in the town of Winchester and Abigail Johnson was preparing breakfast for her family. Abigail was a 15 year old girl in high school. She lived in a two-story house with her sister, mother, and father. Abigail and her family were extremely close, especially her and her younger sister, Emily. Abigail had a very busy life at school always being involved in sports, clubs, and after school activities.

As a handicapper general of Sisler High School, it is my duty to ensure everyone in this school is equal. No student is higher than the other. For example, it is my job to make sure Kamryn Mendoza is equal to the rest of her peers. I have to eliminate her off her special advantages and help her with her weaknesses. Kamryn is musically talented.

On May 20,1996 I was born Damione Freeman growing up in a small city named Pell City. Growing up wasn't easy for me father was never around just leaving me with my mother. As a child I was always happy, caring, and well mannered. When I turned five I started living with my grandmother, Dianne Freeman and my uncle, Akeem Freeman. At the age of five I was torn away from my mother because of her husband and his issues.

My personal memoir was written from the perspective of Anna Louw. I chose the scene in which she took Toby to the party. I decided on this excerpt from the book due to the fact that this was the first day that Anna had ever met Toby. I showed her little knowledge of who Toby was by having her call him Mr. Hood until she had to introduce him to someone else. I wanted to express her feelings of the party and to show her worries of bringing Toby, a man she had just met, to a party with many races of people.

Those who take the time to fully examine the Holocaust, and its exemplary survivors deal with the unsettling knowledge that those before them over looked. It has also been infamous for its brutal unvarnished truth by well-known book reviews, but overall it’s cultural impact on the world has shown it is a lesson that should be known by all.

Ever since I was young, I have always heard someone talking about Marquette. Part of this may be due to the fact that three of my neighbors have gone to Marquette and have absolutely loved it. Adding on to that, I have met even more people that have gone to Marquette that have really liked it and are usually successful in life. I met even more people at the Marquette open house that were from all over the United States and said they went to Marquette and they hope their child will attend Marquette as well. This made me realize that Marquette is truly local, since I know several people that have gone to Marquette that live by me and at the same time it is global, since I have met people around the United States, as well as other countries that

Imagine moving across the continent to go to school. Jessica Stupar, an international student from Sprucegrove, Alberta, Canada, chose to come to America to pursue her dream of becoming a collegiate softball player. Despite the few differences between the United States and Canada, Stupar has seem to come in contact with several needs for clarification when it comes to stereotypes. Stupar’s life-long dream is to play softball in college and North Central Missouri College has made that a possibility for her. It seems crazy to think that someone from Canada would come to Trenton, Missouri.

People know that Stargirl is different, Stargirl teaches me that being myself is perfect. She wears different clothes, she meditates, she does what makes her content and from my knowledge teenagers don’t usually do those things. In a way I am a Stargirl, I don’t do all the things that Stargirl does, because I am different in my own way. When Stargirl came into the cafeteria, she was different and stood out.

A hero is a person that takes time out of their everyday life to help a person in need. Katie Birrenkott, my older sister, is my hero. She is 24 years old, graduated from college, and back in her hometown to pursue her dreams as an independent woman. No matter who it is, she will be there for anybody.

Unknown Hi i’m Bella. I look like a happy go lucky African american woman. Well to all that say that they only got one part right in that whole statement. I’m an average african american woman. I have nothing and no one to truly call my own.

When I was seven, I asked my mom why she had come to America from Ethiopia. She told me that she had come so that I could have things that she didn’t, get the education she couldn’t, and see and do things she wouldn’t. I told her that I was going to make her proud and even though I was seven, I was stubborn, and set my goals high and worked hard. I will forever remember my mother crying as I got my college acceptance letters. Now, as a junior at Old Dominion College as an international affairs major, I’m setting to make her proud again.
