Christmas! Christmas! Christmas! My school has decided to make our Christmas break one week instead of two weeks for Christmas break! Although some people believe that having one week instead of two will help you learn more, it may actually be argued that having two weeks may help your brain think on other things, since it is a reward and the school gave it to us. If you just take away half of something it's like giving someone twenty dollars, and then just takes ten away, and thatś pretty mean. Keep reading if you want to hear three strong reasons on how we shouldn’t have a week cut off from our Christmas break. One important reason, that if you have two weeks, you can spend more time and have fun with your family. With all the time you have in two weeks, you can, sled, build a snowman, decorate your …show more content…
You all know that you have to go to activity, which is like an hour, then sit in a classroom on a chair for like an hour for four classes, and then you have lunch and recess, which is only like thirty minutes, and then you have to go back to sitting down, and doing work for another three classes that take like one hour each, which is hard on a child, and we only have two days for doing anything else. Two weeks from school can help us refresh and get through another few month for spring break and the summer break, and then we start all over again, new year, new grade, new learning. Also, you don’t have to worry about tests every week, and study everyday and do homework at the same time, since you have a test and homework almost every week in Middle School, and it's going to be worse in high school, so get ready middle schoolers, we have a long, hard, and bumpy
Christmas time is my favorite time of the year, and I know many people who agree with that. Excluding certain, or all, religions in my opinion hurts the students more than helping by making them become less creative. I disagree smaller religious holidays are excluded, but I think they could be more of a part of school. I think by educating students about all religions would help this issue and allow them to have a more diverse mind. I think the school-wide door decorating contest would be fun if you were allowed to choose what you would like to put on it as long as it is not offensive to anyone.
I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving. I just wanted to give you all a couple of updates. I was giving students book bucks for reading at home each night. The students could then redeem their book bucks for a reward. Keeping track of all of the book bucks and rewards has gotten to be confusing.
At this point in school, there is short time off on breaks. As it is very different than what schools do right now. For example, schools with year round school get much more time off.” For year round school 45 days equals 15 days off or 3 weeks off, 60 days equals out to be 20 days off .The
Summer breaks are full of good memories and should be experienced by all. I know that if I was in school during the summer, I would be distracted and not pay attention. Year round schools aren’t always beneficial to students, teachers, and the school itself. Let 's get rid of year round schools and let students be able to enjoy long summer
Snow days, are they over? Snow days are soon going to be replaced with E-days. E-days are days that you have to stay home because of the harsh weather so instead of staying home and watching tv, you can learn from home. So with that said, I think that E-days are a good idea. This essay will explain to the reader that E-days are a good idea because they 1.help save money, 2.
One of the most-awaited moments of the year is right here once again. Dim neighborhoods are brightened by ghastly smiles of Jack-o '-lanterns in communities where the breeze is also slowly getting colder and the leaves that have fallen off of pines give each step a crunch. In a few days, children dressed like pirates, princesses, ghouls, and little monsters will be knocking on doors requesting goodies and several other goodies. Yet just before Halloween begins, you can delight the kids in your community by teaming up with several moms and dads and arranging a Halloween scavenger quest.
The first attempt and success to climb Mt. Everest occured in 1953. Since then, almost 4,000 people have been able to scale the mountain, but over 230 people have not been able to climb it successfully. There is a chance of accident or death when climbing this mountain or any dangerous activity. All people should should have the right to rescue services even if they knowingly put themselves at risk because there is always a chance of an accident happening, rangers are there to save people in danger, and there are rescue vehicles being produced to be used in case of an emergency.

In the article,The Four Day School Week, by Don Kordosky, the author states,”By trimming one day off the week, a school can save in bus services, cafeteria, and facilities costs. This can be especially crucial during state budget shortfalls, where K-12 funding can be in danger of cuts, and even more so for rural school districts, which must run their schools on a minimal budget” (Crosscut: "The Four-day school week: why less really is more"). This evidence shows that schools could save a lot money by changing to a four day school week. There are also some reasons we shouldn't pick a four-day school
The Freshman 15 is a thought that crosses the minds of most future college students, but most say that it won’t happen to them. This fear of losing a toned body after graduating high school bothers some more than others. They realize after high school there are no longer athletics, and they’ll no longer be exercising regularly. Also, when they depart from their parents house and begin to live on their own their eating habits change.
Another great reason is if we take breaks in the middle of of a semester it may affect us even more. For example its like speed
Finally, another drawback is that without summer break, there will be a financial toll. In a newspaper article titled “Year Round Schooling Explained”, it says, “Tourism and other industries that count on summer vacationers might suffer. High schoolers might be less able to get summer jobs.” This could end up causing a big financial problem for a lot of people. To conclude, the benefits and drawbacks of year-round schooling are about equal.
Running, that word gives many people different emotions that range all the way from disgust to excitement. Most people will say that they would never willingly run, at least not without some motivation and other people might even say that they enjoy it. This is why the sport of cross country is so strange to people, in fact it is strange to me as well that people would willingly run, despite the fact that I actually run cross country. The main reason that people don 't think running is fun is because it is so physically challenging. Running requires you to always be on your game, the slightest injury or distraction can prevent you from doing your best.
Not going to college after high school sounds crazy, but a gap year, a year of break in between high school and college. Gap years are prominent in the United Kingdom, Europe, and Australia. The act was founded by Cornelius Bull, and brought to the United states in the 1980’s (“What’s A Gap Year?”). Gap years are beneficial for many students around the world. Thus, allowing the student time to acquire knowledge to further the career he
Kids need a break. Just because school is year round, doesn't mean that students will get less of a break. The breaks will just be more spread out. The summer break most kids get is about three months long the year round school break averages out to about three and a half months. Would you rather get 3 months off or 3 ½ days off? Because students tend to have better educational and grade scores when school is year round, it makes sense to try to have it year round.
