Whenever news reporters tried to report on anything that wasn 't completely for the war on terror, they were considered unpatriotic and hurting the effort to stop terrorism for good. Pressures to report an official story and the consequences of using unverified facts lead the country to believe that some of the justifications for certain actions against terrorism were correct. When people found out that facts weren’t being reported, this made the public question all of the stories in the news. A certain trust in the government was also lost.

However, we did not know that at the time. Everyone’s emotions were high and worried about loved ones. It’s hard to say Americas “overreacted” to the situation when our world was changed in the matter of only a few precious minutes. Bush began to change the United States. Three days after these attacks George W. Bush stood at Ground Zero where the twin towers were still smoking and spoke to our country with peace. He spoke to first responders and firefighters that they were all in the country's prayers. Bush spoke from the heart on that day with a combination of gratitude towards the rescue workers, defiance toward the terrorists and with pride that they would bring justice to the evil doers. He started what began to be called the Global War on Terrorism.

On that day, more than three thousand people died including innocent civilians, firefighters, and passengers on those airplanes. The cruel act from the terrorists cannot be ignored and pushed aside. The government needed to step in and do something. This would be an unforgettable tragedy that will remain in the history of the United States forever.

The terrorist attacks of 9/11 affect America today because they instigated the creation of the Department of Homeland Security and the “War on Terror,” and led to an increase in anti-Muslim hate crimes. “Often referred to as 9/11, the attacks resulted in extensive death and destruction, triggering major U.S. initiatives to combat terrorism and defining the presidency of George W. Bush,” (9/11, 2010). The most noticeable of these effects was the creation of the Department of Homeland Security.

Our country was hit with enormous deviation. The act of 9/11 have changed the way how American live today and forever. Four commercial airplanes were stolen by terrorists.

Terrorist groups like the Al Qaeda, ISIS, and the Jihadist are a threat to mankind.

The 9/11 tragedy was a moment where people had their guard up at all times. This was a time where life had strike to reality of time warfare with every person and country. Couldn’t trust no one that came to the U.S. America is the land of the free and the home of the brave, were brave because the generations before us had to face what had happened and to what is going to happen. This had left the buildings torn instantly killing hundreds of many people, getting them stuck in the higher floors. This attack was the worst in America ever since the Pearl Harbor All over our nation saw a major impact of devastation in the face of the September 9, 2001attacks.

9/11 will never be forgotten, it happened almost over 15 years ago and if you ask anyone that was there our watching it live they will remember what they were doing during it. My opinion about Congress suing Saudi Arabia is that America should be allowed to Sue them because it will give the families of the falling closure they are missing. Tons of families today still are very sad for the family members that they have lost and if they could go to Saudi Arabia they would go and bomb something of theirs that has lots of people to make everyone feel the pain they have to feel every day of their life.(http://kut.org/post/why-families-911-victims-want-sue-saudi-arabia) During the 15th anniversary of 9/11 the House was under pressure to follow suit. Many members of the House are looking for the person who paid the hijackers it’s going to be a tough task because it happened over 15 years ago a lot of people have come and gone in that time. Today World today is full of terrorism attacks, we know about France, Russia, Lebanon attacks, and all of those attacks happened in 2 weeks. It is obvious that we have a serious problem in the world right now. On friday 13, 7 attacks happened in Paris, 129 people died, 200-300 wounded. IS took all responsibility for that.

The shock and disbelief of 9/11 revealed that America felt that something like this could not possibly happen to us. It showed that the security of our country had been compromised

“If we learn nothing from this tragedy, we learn that life is short and there is no time for hate.” This quote comes from Sandy Dahl , the wife of the pilot on flight 93. When thinking about 9/11 this quote comes to mind because on that particular day, the world was reminded how short life really is. This quote also intertwines with 9/11 because it teaches us how there is no time to hate, but to move forward and help each other hand in hand. Even though I was only a year old when September 11th happened, I want to understand this horrific event that went down in history of the United States.
