Cars are the most important products in the modern lifestyle. Whether it’s going to work, school, the mall, or even your friend’s house, it’s likely that you will be using a car to get there. I’m sure everyone here has a car, and I’m also sure everyone here will be buying another car in the future. Whether you want a car that can fit a large amount of people, or a sports car that can go extremely fast, an electric car will almost always be the best option for you. First of all, let’s talk about the environment. I’m sure you all know about greenhouse gases and global warming, so I won’t talk much about that, but you may not know that road vehicles produce 10% of all man-made greenhouse gas emissions. This does include vehicles other than cars like trucks, but Tesla just came out with an electric truck which is faster and can carry more weight than any petrol/diesel truck. Greenhouses gases carbon-dioxide and methane have hit their highest levels in the past 420,000 years, and the extent of arctic sea ice has declined about 10% in the last 30 years. This is all because of global warming, and if we start switching to electric cars, we could make a big difference and maybe, just maybe the effects of global warming will decrease. If they don’t, sea-levels could …show more content…
The following statistics are for traveling 100 kilometers: According to a recent EU study, by 2020, only 26 megajoules of energy will be used to get petrol out of the ground and transported to the car, but a petrol car will use 152 megajoules of energy to move itself around. 74 megajoules of energy will be used to generate electricity and transport it to the car, but an electric car will only use 38 megajoules of energy to move itself around. You’re not only helping the environment, but you’re saving energy too! Electric cars already use less energy, and that is never going to
Overall the question still remains what would be economically the best decision based on actual fact. Reading Wang’s article, it brushes the surface of what we want to hear the good things about how electric car could benefit in all aspects. Wade’s article brings up good points to counter all the possible negative economic effects. After reading both articles it brings up even more questions on what is going on behind the scenes. We all really will not know what everything is like until the time comes to when ordering a car to the driveway of our
Argument- Why you should get a dirt bike. As Christmas is coming up soon, you’ll need to know what to get your child. Every year you’ve done the same old thing, whatever is “In”. But have you ever thought outside of the box?
According to Top Visually, Gas cars are said to produce around 160 tons of CO2 a year versus electric cars that only produce 15 tons of CO2. This means that if we were to switch to electric cars we would be producing much less Carbon Dioxide therefore helping reduce illnesses caused by air pollution and also to maintain the ozone layer. Another toxic part of the gas car is its battery. Since its battery is made from acid it is not safe to dispose of in just any type of way. On the other hand, electric cars batteries are usually made from lithium or are nickel based which is much more environmentally safe to expose.
Have you ever fantasied about being involved in a bank robbery or a high speed pursuit from the police, and get away with it? I bet the first vehicle that comes to mind for a getaway car isn’t a Prius. In early 2016 during everyone’s favorite Super Bowl commercials Toyota launched its ad for the Prius 4. The commercial features four middle aged men in the process of robbing a bank. As they run out of the bank their car is towed away, they find the nearest vehicle which happens to be the Prius 4.
Transportation is the movement of people, animals and goods from one location to another. The invention of the car was a revolutionary breakthrough in the history, along with the invention of ships, planes, trains, buses and subways. For over a hundred of years, since the invention of the first car, cars have been manufactured with differences in design, appearance, and performance, all with the intent of improving transportation. This generation, more than ever, demanding manufacturers to keep up with the fast pace of life; to get more knowledge of cars, such as muscle, hybrid, and electric cars, one should further look into the history and progressions that have been made thus far with the three types of models. The electric car has made
Today we have hybrids and some models of electric cars. People have shown ingenuity in recycling frying oil to get their vehicles moving. Yet, for the most part, these automobiles are out of reach for the majority of Americans. This is not a society in which a person can toss their Cadillac Seville into the junkyard to buy an electric car. All that does is fill up the junkyards with cars nobody could use because they run on gasoline.
If you 're someone from the south region and about to go west or north during the winter months then there should be some winter driving conditions that you just should bear in mind of before you begin your trip. Of course, you will want to take an emergency car care kit that will have flashes and a radio and highlighted triangles so they can put in the back tracks of your cars so other cars will see you when they come your way. You may also want to carry a flashlight, a warm blanket, and some kitty litter or rock salt. These times help you if you get stuck in the snow. If you do you can either use the kitty litter or salt to melt or cover the snow area so that you can get traction with your tires to get you out of the track you may be stuck
This is all because of global warming, and if we start switching to electric cars, we could make a big difference and maybe, just maybe the effects of global warming will decrease. If they don’t, sea-levels could rise and flood certain areas of the world. Secondly, electric cars, ironically, use less energy than gas cars to move
A tragic motor vehicle event occurred in January of 2018 in Las Vegas that lead to safety concerns and the question - are driving licenses given too easily and should this right be given an extensive right to obtain? An implausible story highlighted a speeding driver who was under the influence of drugs (marijuana) and proceeded to his car being smashed into a building 60 feet up in the air. Local police confirmed that 2 people were inside the car at the time (who’s names have not been disclosed). Both individuals did survive the insane crash. Authorities such as The Orange County Fire Authority and The Santa Ana Police Department confirmed using CCTV cameras that the driver had hit a centre divide which therefore projected the car into the building wall.
On their way to Newport Beach, California, five students, four of them from Irvine High School, were killed in a car crash after striking a tree that split the car in half and caught the car on fire. Four of the students were killed instantly when thrown from the car and the other was pronounced dead at the hospital. The investigators believed that “excessive speed” was a factor in this tragedy. In September of 2012, a year before this heartbreaking incident, governor Jerry Brown signed a bill allowing the testing of Google’s self-driving cars on California roads.
What is that sitting in your garage? Is it an old junk that has forced your new car to stay out in the cold on the driveway? You are now weighing your options on how to get rid of this old vehicle. You could push it out into the driveway where it will become an eyesore and have your neighbours complaining. Or you could let a professional junk car buying and towing company take care of it and give you some cash in return.
Soumya Saji Ms. Patiño English 2/16/18 Global warming as became a huge concern for today’s world. The rise of alternative fuel sources is to help this worldwide problem, as a result, electric cars have started to become a familiarity to everyday roads. Electric cars have many benefits and potentially does help with global warming, but it may not be as environmental-friendly as advertised.
A lot of people love to hear about energy efficient and environmentally friendly options out there. The electric vehicles today serve great benefits in keeping emissions down and using a more friendly alternative energy source. In my opinion they have made an impact on the environment, but a major benefit in using this alternative resource is less cost to fuel the vehicle. Gasoline is very expensive today, and using the energy that is used to power our home, is much less expensive and more available than gas. The environment, as claimed by environmentalists, suffers due to the emissions of automobiles today.
The level of carbon (CO2) emissions is 60% lower in electric vehicles compared to gasoline vehicles. In countries where renewable energy is utilized such as New Zealand, the efficiency of electric vehicles increases to above 80% fewer emissions of carbon (iv) oxide. The level of energy consumption is also lower in electric vehicles as compared to conventional vehicles (Hawkins et al, 2013). This is due to the low levels of photochemical oxidation and particulate matter in their lifecycle. In addition, electric vehicles are considered to be quieter than conventional vehicles whose engines are associated with noise pollution.
Driving is not only a privilege as well as an independence that a person takes for granted. We are presented our licenses to drive a motor vehicles based on the basic assumption, concluded from the driver’s exam, that we are both physically and mentally able to drive safely under the requirements of the law. That issuance of the driver’s license is not permanent if the driver does not maintain the requirements. Thus, when said driver is not able to locate familiar places, or they make slow or terrible decisions, or drive at inappropriate speeds, do we as citizens and fellow drivers agree that it is okay to allow elderly people who fall into these categories to still be out on our roadways? No, elderly people should be subjected to an increased
