Persuasive Essay On Legalizing Marijuana

Legalizing marijuana can make the state some money and there are many benefits to it. Legalizing marijuana won’t benefit at all for the big corrupt pharmaceutical companies, if the cannabis is passed as a drug for health issues. Maybe that’s why lawmakers haven’t maybe won’t pass the law to legalize Marijuana. Yes the companies can get involved but then somehow it will get corrupt and won’t benefit the citizens.

Millions of people around the world are consumers of marijuana. The demand for legalizing marijuana has grown throughout the years. Users of marijuana pledge for it to be legalized to avoid the prison life. For now, marijuana is an illegal drug in almost all countries. With the demand of it increasing, the legalization of marijuana has grown to be a very controversial topic recently.

With only 23 out of the 50 states allowing marijuana for medical/ recreation, recently 17 states allow the use of “low THC, high cannabidiol (CBD)” for medical reasons. With there being federal laws and state laws they clash with each other ultimately state law overrules federal law. The problem with regulation of marijuana throughout the states is being able to contain marijuana to that specific state.

In my opinion marijuana helps more than it hurts and the pros outweigh the cons. If marijuana was legalized it will boost revenue, it gives government the option to put a tax on it. It can bring less money to support organized crime, it will become less profitable for drug

More positive results can aspire from its legalization and restricting it raises many challenges. From a business standpoint, it is not cost effective to keep it illegal and legalizing marijuana can bring revenue for the government. The amount of money the U.S. spends on criminalizing marijuana users can be used to target the real criminals. Marijuana is not like the other drugs and its use for recreational purposes should be allowed. Marijuana continues to offer us remedies for many ailments and it should not be treated as a drug, rather a medicine or for the pursuit of happiness.

Legalize Marijuana Marijuana is a drug with plenty of benefits and by being illegal it affects me personally, the communities’ economy, and most importantly the suffering patients that need stronger and better medicine to relieve whatever issue they may have. Just because some may not understand or need all the benefits legalizing marijuana could bring, does not mean they should ruin the opportunity for those who do. Marijuana could improve the state’s and local counties’ economy. The Huffington Post says “WPTV reports indicate that legalization of marijuana in Washington could bring an estimated 500 million dollars in tax revenue to the state”. If Texas could make that alone in tax revenue it will be a major help to our whole economy.

Seeing people suffer and struggle with their medical conditions is one sign that it’s time to stop and help those people. I’m not a person who does drugs, but if there is one out there that can help many people, then it’s time to do something. Marijuana is a drug that can help thousands of people with cancer, epilepsy, Parkinson’s, autism and so many more. People are taking medicines that aren’t even helping and they just keep getting more medicines thrown at them and they are just suffering because they haven’t found the right medicine that can help keep their disabilities at bay. Medical marijuana can be an answer to a lot of people’s problems.

In my opinion, every state eventually is going to have marijuana legalized because I am sure that all of this information has been brought to their attention before, but this is just a time taking process as the population grows and they begin to see a huge change in the total United States

The United States both as a capitalist country and as a nation of individuals would benefit from the safe, regulated manufacturing and distributing of the drug. The millions of Americans who have admitted to using marijuana prove that prohibition is not the answer to the country’s drug problem. Legalization would not only promote safety, but also support the country

Some states have already legalized marijuana for recreational and medical purposes. The government in the USA keeps fighting this natural product and destroying lives on account of this drug. It has been proven to be even better than alcohol and many other things in this world. Weed being a natural product has many advantages and disadvantages but the good outweighs the bad. Marijuana is not as harmful to the body as other intoxicants like alcohol, cigarettes and many more.

With the amount of money the marijuana business has consumed, it is a no brainer that it would be something that would only help our economy prosper. In his article “How Legalizing Pot Could Save America’s Economy,” S.E Smith mentions that “Legalizing marijuana on a federal level would provide economic benefits for the United States in the billions, precisely at a time when the federal economy needs a major boost” (3). With that being said, it could help the nation gain some money, as well as save money on law enforcement trying to keep it off the streets and out of hands of those who should not have access. Having marijuana legal gives opportunity to improve the economy with the ability to tax on it, create more jobs, and regulating the amount of marijuana out there. It is able to create more jobs that involve the growing, packing, as well as the distribution.

The legalization of marijuana has been a topic of mass discussion for decades upon decades. The government has made weed an illegal substance due to its harmful effects on the body. But the underlying issue is that the government has not formulated an efficient system to regulate the distribution of marijuana for their benefit. With that being said, if the government could police the supply of weed in a profitable manner, then maybe its legalization would not seem so immoral. The government is also concerned with the crime rate due to growing and selling of weed.

The topic if legalising marijuana is very controversial issue. It is taking place throughout the world. In fact just one country has fully legalized marijuana for a resident, Uruguay and 7 states have fully legalized marijuana, Colorado, Washington, Alaska, Washington D.C., and Oregon. and Maine. There are many factors to consider when examining this issue, including advantages and disadvantages to health, the economy and the legal system.

As described above in the past paragraphs, there are many positive outcomes due to the legalization of cannabis. However, there are also negative effects of it which need to advocate restriction and control. Also, legalization of cannabis in the states respectively may show more effects it could have when legalized nationwide. In addition, further medical research may indicate the health benefits. Subsequently, legalization would bring prosperity rather than a loss for the nation.

Marijuana legalization has been a topic that has been discussed for decades and has sparked large debate. Many people believe that it can be attributed to many deaths, illnesses, and social problems, but this couldn’t be further from the truth. The country's been fighting a useless drug war that has cost billions of dollars and hasn’t helped stop the growth of the plant and teenagers say that it is now easier than ever to acquire marijuana. There are many medical benefits to the plant and many states have legalized it for medical use.
