1. “I have not failed. I 've just found 10,000 ways that won 't work.” -Thomas A. Edison Thomas Edison is known for being such a great inventor. Being an inventor, he must have been through a lot of “failures” in his inventions as well as in his life. But he did not see it that way. As the passage quoted from him says, when you will find a way that won’t work, it does not mean it is already a failure. Failure is only in our minds so, if we didn’t see it that way, we would have the courage to try and try again until we make it right. As an aspiring inventor and a future engineer, I find this quote useful in reminding me that I should not be easily be conquered with fear of rejection and failure in everything that I do and create. I’ll just remember that every rejection is just one way that “won’t work” rather than total “failure”. With that in mind, I would never be scared of trying again because at the end of it, there would be always a way that “would work”. 2. “Life is like riding a bicycle. To …show more content…
4. “There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you.” -Maya Angelou, I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings The quote tells about hidden truths, feeling and emotions. Yes, it is very difficult and sad if one cannot tell what his/her heart has to say. Being your feelings unable to reach to others, it feels like there was gaping holes in your chest that will make you feel are alone in this world. Keeping truths inside yourself will put you into a situation that your conscience will keep on telling you to spill it out but your logic would contradict it, thus endless conflict within yourself. As I’ve experienced it myself, it is sad to keep feelings within self. I remembered not too long ago, I’ve once had untold feelings to someone. Even if we were close enough, it is like we were worlds apart that I cannot tell it to her, so I just keep to it myself. Years later, she got into a relationship. With that, my story with her ends before it could actually
That quote showed that failure is not a good thing but it happens to everyone and you always learn something from failure, even if it's just a simple change it's something you learned from failure. Second, so many famous people have failed and it didn't change them as a person they are still who they are. For example in the text it says “ Plenty of famous people have had their share of epic fails too. Did you know that 12 publishers rejected J.K Rowling's first Harry Potter book?

Courage. Courage is a signal for standing up for yourself or trying new things. A quote by Tony Dungy is, “ Courage is the ability to do the right thing, all the time, no matter how painful or uncomfortable it might be”. Different texts like “The Terror” and “The Friday Everything Changed” are a great example of Tony ’s quote.

Key Quotations One of the most memorable quotations in "War of the Worlds" comes early in the novel, when the narrator first catches sight of the Martian cylinders descending from the sky: "It was as if some invisible jet impinged upon them and flashed into white flame. It was as if each man were suddenly and momentarily turned to fire." This passage portrays the initial horror of the invasion, as the Martians' advanced technology absolutely obliterates the humans. The image of men being turned to fire emphasizes the suddenness and violence of the attack, and sets the tone for the rest of the novel.
“Success is 99 percent failure” - Soichiro. It is a very small quote, but it says and means more than when some could try to do with a thousand words. There are many things this quote could mean. It could mean that you can’t know success without failure. Or you success wouldn’t seem so great.
Henry David Thoreau said, at one time, “If one advances confidently in the direction of his dreams, and endeavors to live the life which he has imagined, he will meet with a success unexpected in common hours.” I would say that while this is correct by way of defining success as the result of action, life isn’t always at the control of the individual, and that a person who single mindedly follows a goal will find themselves exhausted, when a better direction can be taken. Thoreau’s assertion has truth: Nothing happens in a state of inaction. The life of a human being is like the plotline of a story, and unless the character does something, the plot cannot and will not move forward.

Two Great Men “Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time. ”- Thomas a. Edison Frederick Douglas and Booker T. Washington were both amazing civil rights activists. Frederick Douglas was a runaway slave who worked to end slavery.
People read quotes almost every day. They look for some inspiration to keep them going. Though people read many quotes, only a few catch their attention. Quotes that catch your attention usually relate to you in some way, or they appeal to your emotions. Ralph Waldo Emerson was a philosopher, essayist, and poet.
He explains, “We are first exposed to the concept of failure in elementary school, quickly realizing how it can affect our educational progress” and he adds “This early, first experience with failure obviously colors our perception of the concept with great negativity.” Loscalzo effectively establishes a conversational tone that helps the reader nail down an otherwise abstract idea. Likewise, he draws a parallel between the ideal current belief of success and the burden it causes. When he notes, “Nothing but perfection will suffice because failure renders our professional efforts, view of accomplishment, and sense of ourselves imperfect,” even the most distinguished scientist feels the impact of his words, inspiring a call to

Maya Angelou feels oppressed by society at the time in I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings. Melinda Sordino represses her emotions and feelings in Speak. The poem "Sympathy" by Paul Laurence Dunbar revolves around a bird that is trapped in a cage. Dunbar describes how the bird feels and reflects the image of the bird onto himself. Like the bird, Dunbar dreams about "the [bright] sun” (Dunbar 2) and “the [soft, stirring]
No great success is ever achieved without failing. We learn a lot from failures. " Be optimistic; don 't even think of failing", they say. But is denying the role of failure, in the making of a person, a good idea? Failure *always* precedes success.
We all experience success and failure in this real world. It was once said by some author, “A little more persistence, a little more effort, and what seemed hopeless failure may turn to glorious success”. I totally agree to this statement because one should be patient enough, firm and hard working to achieve success in life. Sometimes before achieving success, we do experience failure and this failure reminds us to be more hardworking as said by Harvey Mackay
